I honestly do not see why this is so hard for some to grasp.
Part 1. We are saved by His Grace through faith, by no work of our own. We were spiritually dead haters of God, unable to please Him at all in ANY way, in our flesh. Then when we see our way in truth, for the hopeless, pointless mess that it is and turn to Him He saves us.
He saves us and we offer nothing for this gift. Nothing. We are saved by His grace and don't get to boast about a thing, because we did nothing at all, can do nothing at all to be saved. All God, none us. This is salvation, this is being saved. The end, of salvation.
Part 2. Now what? Do we just sit around forever talking about how works didn't save us, and how we never have to do any work for God? Did you know salvation isn't the finish line? Did you know it was just the part where God resurrects our spirits and reconciles us to Him making us whole? Did you know that having our spirit alive and tied back into His as we were created to exist now opens our eyes and ears to the truth, and being indwelt by His Spirit empowers us to now have the ability to live in a way that is pleasing to our Lord. Before we couldn't please Him, now by His grace we can, and not only can, but we actually DESIRE too. See this is WHY He saves us, to reflect His glory onto His creation for His glory. So this idea that you are putting forth that we HAVE to do these "works", or that they're required to keep salvation is completely wrong, I agree 1000% with that, and honestly I haven't seen anyone here teaching blasphemy like that. However I have seen a LOT of people say "works are evidence of ones salvation", or works are a "result" of having been saved, then have seen others telling them they are preaching "works salvation" wrongly. So my point here is that saying works will be present in the truly saved persons life is absolutely NOT saying works buy or sustain salvation. I'm not sure at all what you were aiming this comment at, but I agree with what you said though, as long as it's not aimed at someone who's not saying works save.
Just to add, because this is often where the conversation jumps to now anyway, no there is not a list of acceptable works, or a certain amount required, or any kind of quota that "keeps you saved". God works in each one of us personally and uses us for His glory, so there is no comparing or contrasting what works God might be leading us to do, so please no "what works do I have to do, how many, at what time?" kinds of questions. Those only God can tell you.
