I believe this poster denies a future second coming of Jesus Christ and glorified bodily resurrection of the believer?
I do DEFINITELY deny a future third coming of Christ but I do NOT deny the glorified resurrection of believers. All believers are in heaven, none remain in Hades. Christ said He would return to His generation. He said some standing there listening to Him would still be alive. He suggested John would still be alive when He returned. He told the disciples that they would not make it through all the cities of Israel before He returned. He made all these promises and STILL you deny that He kept His word. Why????

I understand what you are saying; however, I am inclined to believe that - in several places in the scriptures, when God describes an event with many of those same 'details' about "the destruction of heaven and earth" - He is talking about the same event in all of those places - His 'vengeance' at the Second Coming of Christ. (I know it does not look that way "on the surface"; you have to read it very carefully.)

The same kind of 'imagery' and 'dialog' are in several places - but, are all actually referring to the same event and time.

And, if you see the phrase "day of the Lord" in the passage - then, you [may] know for sure that it is referring to that same event.
No Gary. There were multiple "Days of the Lord," These days are different days of divine judgment. The Bible records at least 5 different days of the Lord, four in the sixth century BC and one in 70 AD. I'm disappointed that you can't see it. Those 4 passages in the OT that I provided clearly identify four separate nations and four separate judgments. The prophets discuss them at length because they were soon coming from when they were predicted just as the last judgment of Israel in 70 AD came shortly after Christ, the final prophet, predicted it. Oh well, I tried.

Are you telling me that every time I have been to a funeral, and could see the body in the casket - it was a lost person?!?!

You might want to rethink that a little... ;)

(Or, do you mean that the person "steps out of" the old 'physical' body and "steps into" a new 'spiritual' body that is "waiting for them on the other side", leaving the old body behind?)

:)
The resurrection is without doubt the most difficult topic I ever studied. There is disagreement in the preterist community about it also, some think it is future, some past. But I think I figured most of it out. Prior to Christ all who died went to Hades, the righteous in Paradise, the wicked on the other side of the gulf, the torment side. Both groups were separated from God and NOT in heaven. This was the main punishment for the original sin. This is how Adam and Eve died on the day they sinned, they were programmed for spiritual death when they died. SPIRITUAL DEATH = SEPARATION FROM GOD. Christ restored that separation by becoming the sacrifice for all sin. This is called, "THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS" (Acts 3:21). What a sea change. No more animal sacrifices, no more sleeping in Hades. Once we accept Christ, we are changed in the twinkling of an eye, programmed for spiritual life. Paul taught, "We will not all sleep (waiting in Hades) but we shall all be changed, in the twinkling of the eye." The dead were raised and the living were changed - reprogrammed for life. See how monumental this was, and is????

When Christ died, He went to Hades and ministered to those who had died so that when He returned a short time later, those who accepted Him would be set free. Christ's resurrection had less to do with Him coming back to His earth body and more to do with Him defeating Hades (AKA spiritual death). He was the firstfruits, the very first to leave Hades, the underworld of the dead. He paved the path. Christ didn't stay in Hades until He rose, He returned to Heaven first and was given the Kingdom and authority over heaven and earth (Dan 7:14 and Mt 28:18). This kingdom exists now!!! Peter teaches in Acts that only Christ's body would not see corruption, it would not decay and return to dust as David's did. He returned to His body and appeared to many as proof of His resurrection.

When the presence of Christ returned circa 66-70 AD, He set those captives in Hades free. They were already spiritual beings, not disembodied souls as many believe. This is how Lazarus and the Rich Man were able to experience and see things after death. When the captives were freed, they went to heaven as spiritual beings. There is no teaching of disembodied souls. The body contains the senses, without it, one cannot touch, see, hear, etc.

Paul makes it abundantly clear that our flesh bodies are corrupt and can NEVER inherit incorruption. They die and return to the dust from whence they came. They serve no future purpose. Both Peter and Paul refer to our flesh body as nothing more than a tent. I take this to mean our tents are covering our true complete spiritual self. Thus when we physically die, we "step out" of our tent and transition to the spiritual realm. There is no more waiting (sleeping) in Hades. Paul teaches in 2 Cor 5 that Christ made us a new creation, "old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Rev 21:5 echoes this lesson. We do not need to wait for anything. Heb 9:27 says we must all die then face judgment. This is the way it's been for 1,950 years and there is no teaching of a mass exodus of living beings being taken to heaven. That is a misconception of 1 Thes 4.

Here is another news flesh for everyone. Genesis 1 creation happened in the spiritual realm. There was no physical realm at the time. Everything was created perfectly. When the fall happened, that's when creation became our physical realm and we then saw physical death. We live our lives out in this physical realm on this physical planet, Earth. When a believer dies we return to the Garden of Eden as pictured in Rev 22. This is where the Tree of Life is found where we may take the water of life freely. Outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. We go straight to Heaven when we die. We don't have to wait for Christ to return and do anything as He already did it all.

7th Day Adventism, Ellen G. Whites (Investigative Judgement) is a false teaching.

The great disappointment of 1844, in the false prediction of the (Second Coming) turned in the false teaching of (The Investigative Judgement)

Can't learn from the first wrong, gonna make it a double wrong :)

Ellen G. White, A False Prophetess
Of course there's an Investigative Judgment before Jesus comes. Even Daniel depicts a Judgment scene where books are open all the while the Little Horn Antichrist is still running his mouth, right or wrong?

"For Judgment must begin at the house of God", right or wrong?

How can Jesus bring to us our reward without first INVESTIGATING to see if we are faithful or not?

I could show you from verses in Psalms where it says "God judgeth the righteous and God is angry with the wicked every day" which plainly indicates there is a Judgment that takes place while the wicked are yet doing their dirt.

Look up in any Jewish Encyclopedia and it will tell you that the "Day of Atonement" is the "Judgment" which precedes the "tabernacle" of our Lord when He comes to take us home to tabernacle with Him. \

BTW, if you're going to slam 19th century plain old Christians who misinterpreted prophecy, then you should throw away your Bible because Matthew, Mark, John, Peter, James - ALL OF THEM - got the prophecies wrong, didn't even believe Jesus had risen from the dead, and one even refused to believe until he put his own finger in Jesus' wounds. You gonna fault ordinary Christians for confusing prophecy, but you're going to give Bible prophets a pass?

Life On Earth Won't Be Sustainable?

The Earth Is Dissolved By The Lord's Fire In Judgement At His Return!

2 Peter 3:10-13KJV
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be
dissolved,
what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Why are you questioning my claim that life will not be sustainable after the Second Coming? Does not Peter plainly describe a destroyed Earth where there will be no air to breathe, no food to grow and eat, no light, etc.?

Ellen G. White Is A False Prophetess

Jesus Christ Returns In Fire And Final Judgement, Dissolving The Existing Heavens And Earth By Fire, As The New Heavens, Earth, Jerusalem Are Revealed For Eternity.
You keep repeating yourself. Tell us WHY the SDA teaching of an I J is false. I don't just tell people the Papacy is evil and presents false doctrines...I explain WHY those doctrines are false, just like I explain why the lie of Jesuit "Left Behind" Futurism is false. One such explanation is that when Jesus comes as a thief in the night, 2 Peter 3:10 KJV says the Earth is not going to sustain life for another 7 minutes, let alone "7 years of tribulation".

A (Dissolved Earth) As Peter Describes Below.

Oh, I see. We have to look at the other prophecies which point to the same, and when we do so, our conclusion is that the things ON THE EARTH are clean dissolved, not the Earth itself. It's going to be a crispy, black canvas, upon which the Lord is going to recreate a New Earth after the wicked are cast into the Lake of Fire and destroyed. When the fire has nothing more to burn, it will cease to burn, and then we'll get to watch the Master make remake it more glorious than before.

Tell Me Why The Millerite/SDA Great Disappointment Took Place In 1844, They prophesied 1844 Jesus Was Going To Return In The Second Coming?

The Investigative Judgement, Was Nothing More Than Another (False Teaching) To Save Face In The Light Of False Prophecy In The 1844 Blunder, It Turned Into The (Investigative Judgement) After The Failed Date Setting.

Scripture clearly teaches that your claim of a refurbished Earth is (False), It's Completely A New Creation!

1.) The First Heaven And Earth Are (Passed Away) Gone!

2.) The New Jerusalem Comes From God Out Of Heaven

3.) Behold, I Make All Things New

Revelation 21:1-5KJV
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

So when Jesus warns His disciples about false prophets He wasn't really warning them, instead He was warning people in 1844??

Josephus records a great number of false prophets during his day in War 6-5-2&3:

...Now there was then a great number of false prophets suborned by the tyrants to impose on the people, who denounced this to them, that they should wait for deliverance from God; and this was in order to keep them from deserting, and that they might be buoyed up above fear and care by such hopes. Now a man that is in adversity does easily comply with such promises; for when such a seducer makes him believe that he shall be delivered from those miseries which oppress him, then it is that the patient is full of hopes of such his deliverance.

3. Thus were the miserable people persuaded by these deceivers, and such as belied God himself; while they did not attend nor give credit to the signs that were so evident, and did so plainly foretell their future desolation, but, like men infatuated, without either eyes to see or minds to consider, did not regard the denunciations that God made to them.

Jesus goes on to say, "19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." How were the deceived of 70 AD destroyed? By the fires of Jerusalem perhaps??? I love how you futurists think Christ had nothing to say relating to the pending disaster which would befall His country in less than 40 years but instead focused all His attention to events of our day. You guys crack me up!!

(Josephus) AKA Yosef ben Matityahu was an unsaved Jewish Adulterer, married like 5 times

He was a traitor to the Jewish people, leaving battle and joining the Romans camp, being exalted with wine, women, and mansions for his works of propaganda in promoting Rome and the Emperor's.

Josephus would make Hitler's Joseph Goebbels blush

So in Isaiah 13 when God shook the heavens and moved the earth out of her place relative to the Babylons being destroyed by the Medes, did He literally do that? What about Jeremiah 4 when the earth was void and without form and the heavens had no light relative to the fall of Judah to Babylon, did that really happen? No wonder you guys are so confused.
