Scripture Strongly Disagrees.

The early church was established on the 7th day sabbath, this commandment hasn't been revoked or replaced.

(Sun)day observance finds its roots in Paganism, primarily (Sunworship)

Acts 13:42-44KJV
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
It is not the establishing of the church. But is a shadow of the eternal rest .

The church was established with its first martyr, Abel. He rested in Christ. Cain received no sabbath rest.

The new era of new sabbaths is the first day of the week .The day he said let there be light .A day set aside when the gospel work can be applied.

The Sabbath debate is one that has been continual.
1. Sunday is the first day
2. The best way to understand the Sabbath is to understand how Israelites kept, or are keeping it.
3. The argument that it was done away at the cross is mixed up. True the laws of shadows and types were finished at the cross. But is the Sabbath a one of those shadows. It was made holy and sanctified before sin, and is part of the Ten that we are told to keep today.
4. No one can keep the law to be saved, but we can keep it because we love Jesus. We can keep it because Jesus has saved us.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made
Mark 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Jam 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

There are many verses and some laws have been fulfilled in Christ but grace does not give us an excuse to disobey God and ignore His commands. Roms 6:1, 7:7.
If there is no law today no one guilty of sin today.
The Sabbath is not a moral law. Just like water baptism .

Neither moves a person closer or causes a distance .They are shadows patterns of things in the heavens . Not sign gifts. Like, I did it that confirms it proves sin have been omitted . Some call self edifying sign gifts ( strange fire or a personal signature )

Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Collosians 2:16 was written for those who were keeping the (Eternal) feast of Tabernacles, New Moons, And Sabbath Days that will be observed in the New Heavens and Earth.

Isaiah 66:22-23KJV

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

In regards to Isaiah 66:22-23, this simply teaches that from month to month and from week to week, God’s people will worship Him. In the new heaven and the new earth, we read there will have no need of the sun or moon, there will be no night there, but one perpetual day and the glory of God will illuminate it. (Revelation 21:23-25). How then could there be a cycle of seven days that would allow for literally keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law? The Isaiah passage simply means that God’s people will perpetually worship Him in contrast to keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law.

Furthermore, if one insists on sabbath observances based on Isaiah 66:23, then one also needs to observe new moons as well. Yet from what I hear, Sabbatarians don’t observe new moons, which is inconsistent. New moons require night, hence Sabbatarians have night in heaven, yet there is no day and night cycles in heaven. You cannot have "new moon to new moon" or "sabbath days" without day and night, so the argument is moot.

Will there be Levitical priests in the new heaven? If Isaiah 66:23 teaches that we will keep the sabbath day in the new heaven, then it also teaches in Isaiah 66:21 that the Levitical priests will be in the new heaven, because it is also mentioned. What happened to the Levitical priesthood under the new covenant terms?

Priesthood changed so did the law. Hebrews 7:12 - For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. *The old and new covenants do not mix.”

Paul's custom was to start in the Synagogues.....however....the disciples met the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK.....at the end of the day...We are not under the law, we can meet any day, work any day, rest any day....

The new era of rests to support new creatures is the first day of the week .The day he walked out of the Tomb as a ceremonial law or shadow of our eternal rest.
This thing is the bible does not state that Sunday has replaced Saturday as the Sabbath. The tomb was empty on Sunday, that does not mean that Jesus walked out of it on Sunday. Depending on the time of day that Jesus died, 72 hours later He rose from the dead. It could have been just before the end of the Sabbath on Saturday. Regardless, this has not bearing whatsoever on changing the Sabbath to Sunday.

Amen....I am doing 50 a week here....probably go to 7 10's or 6 12's next 4 weeks.....it is what it is and sometime the Ox is in the ditch...........
Yeah, working weekends is part of my schedule. Get OT every week. Since corona kicked in my hours at work have increased dramatically. Instead of stay at home it's stay at work. It's better than being unemployed and wondering how many mortgage payments you can miss before the bank forecloses on your home. Fortunately, all of our bills are current including the mortgage.

Hmm do you know everything you can and can not do on the Sabbath? If you follow it then you know by heart. Its changed with the times. Use to be like what 1521 things you could not do on the Sabbath. Thought that comes to mind is.. didnt Christ come die rise PRAISE GOD.

Seen the power of God by the sweet holy Spirit move on Sundays/Saturdays. I think Keith Green said it best "If you can't come to me every day.. don't bother coming at all". I know God would not say it like that.. yet its truth. If your still under the law then.. you have ALLOT to do. I am not.

Amen! Notice that these were "unbelievers" before Paul preached to them. They believed in the Jewish system, but the Bible says in Acts 14:1, that they BECAME believers proving Paul's work there in the synagogue was evangelism and not sabbath worship.

The Greeks were Jewish converts to Judaism known as proselytes. They were not pagan Greeks but Greeks who practiced the law of Moses and kept the sabbath. The only Greeks that were in the synagogue would be these proselytes. These Greeks were certainly were not Christians.

Acts 13:43 "Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and of the God-fearing proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in the grace of God."

Acts 14:1 "In Iconium they entered the synagogue of the Jews together, and spoke in such a manner that a large number of people believed, both of Jews and of Greeks."

Acts 17:4 "And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, along with a large number of the God-fearing Greeks and a number of the leading women.“

Acts 18:4 "And he was reasoning in the synagogue every Sabbath and trying to persuade Jews and Greeks."

There are several, however read when Jesus was explaining and teachg the Pharisees of the three principles needed when we apply the law, being faith, justice and mercy.

Read when He was chided by the Pharisees His response as to why He did works on the Sab bath.
Read all Jesus teaches, for He is humble, His yoke is easy, His burden is light.

I was watching 'Noah-The Last Days' series on Amazon and am worried about my working on the Sabbath day. After watching part 2
which talks about the covenant God made with Noah, his people entered into the Arc which is symbolized as the covenant. Part of the covenant was to keep the Sabbath holy, or sanctify, that day with rest and not to work. I work nights Sundays through Wednesdays and am worried after
watching this video. It stresses not working on Sundays.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
No doubt an ages old debate on any Christian forum.

Sabbath per the Bible beings at sunset on Friday unto sunset on Saturday.
Below is excerpted in parts from this link. I think if you read its information you'll have a pretty clear picture as to the importance of not just the Sabbath to the Christian today but, have an answer for what often comes in a topic like this, that argument that God's law does not apply to today's Christian.
I rather enjoyed reading it. :) http://www.giveshare.org/HolyDay/sabbegin.html

Isaiah 58:13-14, "If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth . . . ."

A Lesson in Bible Time
If Sabbath breaking is a sin, punishable by eternal death as Garner Ted Armstrong says, then certainly in the Bible we ought to be able to find when the Sabbath begins.
Exodus 31:12-18 shows that the death penalty was administered to Israelites who broke the Sabbath. They didn't have electronic watches nor computerized sunset tables. They had the sun to go by. Would it make sense to administer the death penalty for a nebulous law? It wouldn't be possible for anyone to tell who was breaking the Sabbath according to Mr. Burke, because for him the Sabbath is "an undefinable period of time."
Genesis 1:3-5, 14-18 says that the Eternal uses the sun and moon to divide day and night, light from darkness. Does it usually begin to get dark at 3:00 PM in the afternoon? No. The "evening and the morning" differentiate each day.
When the sun went down, it was dark, Genesis 15:17. This began a new day, verse 18. Jacob stayed for the night at a place, because the sun was set, and he lay down to sleep, Genesis 28:11. A priest who became unclean by touching a creeping thing was "unclean until even." He was to wash himself "and when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things," Leviticus 22:5-7. An unclean person had to stay out of the camp, wash himself when evening comes on, and when the sun was down he could come into the camp again, Deuteronomy 23:11. Time and again, when the sun is down (sunset) is a distinct Biblical demarcation of time.
A hanged dead body was to be buried as soon as the sun was down, Joshua 8:29. Samson gave his thirty wedding guests seven days to guess his riddle. On the seventh and last day the men came to him "before the sun went down" with the answer to the riddle that they had gotten from his wife, Judges 14:12-18. At the news of Abner's death at the hands of Joab, David fasted until sundown, II Samuel 3:35. He fasted for dead Saul and Jonathan until evening, II Samuel 1:12.
The morning is when the sun is up, Judges 9:33. In darkness the young lions stalk and at sunrise, they go to their dens while man gets up and goes to his labor until evening, Psalms 104:19-23. Thus, man is designed to work by day.
During Jesus' day, many Jews thought it was wrong for Him to heal on the Sabbath. They came to Him just after sunset Saturday night to be healed, Mark 1:32, Luke 4:31,40. We are not to hold grudges, or let our anger build up to the explosion point. This is expressed in the verse "let not the sun go down on your wrath," Ephesians 4:26-27. Don't let the day pass without getting rid of your anger. We are to use the lights God created to divide time, to differentiate between day and night. In the New Heavens and New Earth, there will be no need for the sun and moon, Revelation 21:23, 22:5.
Based on the above scriptures, it is evident that according to the Bible, sunset divides one day from another. Far from being a Pharisaical Satanic lie, the Sabbath does begin on Friday sunset and ends on Saturday sunset.

Did Jesus Relax The Sabbath?
Matthew 5, 6, and 7 gives the account of the so-called Sermon on the Mount. Jesus made the laws of the Old Testament much more binding and expanded the law to its full spiritual intent. Jesus said even to look lustfully at a woman is adultery, 5:27-28. Rather than relax or water down the laws, He made them stricter. Those who "break [Greek luo, relax or loosen] one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of heaven," 5:19. Unless our righteousness exceeds -- goes far beyond -- that of the Pharisees, we will not be in the Kingdom of Heaven, verse 20.
Does it sound like Jesus relaxed the Sabbath? NO! The Pharisees had added false traditions to the Sabbath, such as the prohibition of healing on the Sabbath. The Bible tells when the Sabbath begins: on sunset of the end of sixth day. The Savior went beyond this to the spiritual intent of the Sabbath. On the Sabbath, He demonstrated by His own actions that we must not just rest physically on the Sabbath, but we must also perform spiritual work of helping others. Yes at times even attending to human needs. Yet to Mr. Burke, we can now "relax" and not worry about working past sundown on the Sabbath. He has totally and completely missed the intent of the Sabbath.

And on the first day of the week, of us having come together to break bread, Paul, about to depart on the next day, talked to them and continued the talk until midnight.

Where two or three arw gathered together in my name there am I in the midst.

There will be a New Heaven, and Earth, you disregard the very context of scripture that you presented?

(The City, New Jerusalem) will have no need for the Sun, Moon, Not The Entire New Heavens And Earth :)

Revelation 21:23-24KJV
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

The New Heavens, Earth, New Moons, Sabbath Days, Are (Eternal)

Isaiah 66:22-23KJV
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.
23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
That's your argument? So you actually believe that God's redeemed people will keep the sabbath day holy under the law throughout eternity in the new heavens and new earth? What about the new moon which is also mentioned in that verse? So why would there still be need for the sun and moon in the new heavens and new earth and why would only the city, new Jerusalem be exempt? Again, the Isaiah passage simply means that God’s people will perpetually worship Him in contrast to keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law.

Did you realize that the word "Sabbath" first appears in Exodus 16:23 - Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.

Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3,32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5; Nehemiah 10:31) that is not binding on Christians in the New Testament. (Colossians 2:16-17)

The Word of God makes it clear that Sabbath observance was a sign between God and Israel. “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.” (Exodus 31:16-17) Are you an Israelite under the law?

In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.” (Deuteronomy 5:15)
