You came to the conversation not having a clue that Constatine Donated the land for Vatican City, and built the Basilicas, and your now the authority, (Big Smiles) (y)
My question for sources was about the "all expenses paid" bit, not the land donations. And what you posted in regard to that seems to me that you misunderstood what the article said. The history of the church is an area of interest to me, though I wouldn't call myself an expert.

In post #530 I stated in a portion that Constatine Donated the land for Vatican City and Built St Peters Basilica.

In post #532 you asked for a source on my claims, because you didn't have a clue on the afore mentioned, just admit it (y)

You didn't just state that, you made 4 claims in that post. Rather than identifying the one that I found suspect it was far easier to simply ask for your sources on all of them. If I didn't have a clue I wouldn't have been suspicious.

It was a dead giveaway when Constatine invited 1800 bishops to the council of Nicaea, all expenses paid?
Um, not exactly all expenses. Eusebius observed:
Then as if to bring a divine array against this enemy, he convoked a general council, and invited the speedy attendance of bishops from all quarters, in letters expressive of the honorable estimation in which he held them. Nor was this merely the issuing of a bare command but the emperor’s good will contributed much to its being carried into effect: for he allowed some the use of the public means of conveyance, while he afforded to others an ample supply of horses for their transport.

Eusebius of Caesaria. (1890). The Life of the Blessed Emperor Constantine. In P. Schaff & H. Wace (Eds.), E. C. Richardson (Trans.), Eusebius: Church History, Life of Constantine the Great, and Oration in Praise of Constantine (Vol. 1, p. 521). New York: Christian Literature Company.

Only 318 showed up, that tells you where the Roman Catholic State Church was in 325AD
There was no state church in 325. Constantine did not make Christianity the state religion. Theodosius I did that some 60 years later.

The Land of Vatican City was donated to this State Church by Constatine, he built the original St. Peters Basilica
If you are referring to the Donation of Constantine, that is a forgery. The land that was 'donated" was far greater than just the land on Vatican Hill. The Papacy wound up controlling a large swath of territory in the central Italian peninsula until the 1870's.

The true Christian lineage existed outside of Roman Catholicism's grip, and they were heavily persecuted for it.
Which body would that be?

Far more thorough than I'm willing to be with him. Thank you for your attention to detail. Do you have any recommendations for general historical overviews that are good? I've read Zondervan's church history finding a lot of value in volume 1 but volume 2 seemed too close to modern disputes for me to get past the biases.

That really doesn't make much sense considering there is quite a bit of writing done on the episcopate and the structuring of the early church. If there were any Petrine succession it wouldn't have taken 440 years for someone to claim as much, even under persecution.
The Catholic Church believe alot of things that aren't declared dogma. A good reason is usually required for that to happen. And really hanging it all on speculation when there is an abundance of Scriptural evidence for the Petrine Office.

Why do you say it's ascending?
Sorry, used the wrong word. It happens sometimes when I haven't slept.

But why do you latch onto a word misspoken rather than addressing the substance?

Because it would have been a substantial error. The issues you mentioned just don't carry much weight . Three Popes Babylon, perhaps the Chair was even vacant? Not an unsurpassable problem.

I really do believe what was given Peter was from the Father. The issues that you mentioned don't carry the weight you think they should.

And what is the scriptural evident?

It's kind of hard to claim an unbroken holy tradition when there is evidence that the tradition has been broken. But if you don't see breaks in the unbroken chain as substantial, well, you're far too sold out for any words to convince you.

I've been posting scriptural support. This is evidence.Jesus changed Simon's name to Peter. Odd name not used before. Why does God change names?

So you believe Jesus change Peter name as evident that Jesus want Peter to be a Pope?

Jesus never say that.

I change your name to Peter because I nominate you as a Pope.

Good question. I like JND Kelly's "Early Christian Doctrines". Also Phillip Schaff's work on church history is older but a fine source. And just about anything from Jaroslav Pelikan.

Well, Ok. The office, or the Chair, is a seat of judgement and it can survive a vacancy. Happens when a Pope dies. A Catholic can think Peter is always sitting there anyway. The Church is Triumphant now.
