How would you view the difference between the development of doctrine and a new doctrine ?
This got by me. Sorry Garee.
A development is a deeper understanding of what's always been believed. The rest is obvious but I would be happy to answer any questions.

Now your turn to tell us why Jesus change his name to Peter?
Peter means rock.

Because the Father revealed Jesus as His Son.

Divine Revelation given from heaven to one of the twelve.
That indicated who would be the steward in His absence.
The steward carries the authority of His Lord when the Lord is absent.

Good Question! Yeah can you imagine that! With Jesus right there.
Because of that direct communication 'as if Jesus wasn't there' that's why Jesus wasn't gonna tell them 'in the flesh'. Remember Jesus saying "it wasn't flesh and blood that told you"

Matthew 3:17 King James Version (KJV) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
That's not
Edify or venerate the unseen God . God whose name is Jealous will not share his unseen glory or power with corrupted flesh and blood . . .

self edification .

Matthew 3:17 King James Version (KJV) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
I see. That's a word that's almost.....Edify is instructive primarily. Requires an increase or lacking. God doesn't lack or increase. That implies potential and God is pure act.

No other member of the 12 or those who they hand the faith down to are the first to receive the interior guidance promised to reach All Truth.

So Jesus Changes his name to unite him to his mission and gives the keys to Peter first. Firsts are very important in biblical language.

He asks only Peter to feed His Sheep.

Peter is the only Apostle Satan got to sift. Jesus prophecies Peter's recovery and told him to comfort the others.

Many firsts for the one the Father united Himself to so that Peter would know Jesus as His Son. Peter said "You are the Son of the living God."

Later Satan was able to exploit Peter's clinging to divine Fatherhood and Jesus had to help him discern what was happening to him.

Yes he denied that authority as the Son of man seen an apostle who was sent with the unseen will of the father .

Gave glory to the unseen father. you could say only God unseen is Good. Good represents the unseen God as a his sign or seal of approval.
Wait, So is Jesus God incarnate or not?

Although I think Rome is in serious error in many errors those errors don’t include christology. Recall that Rome held the line on orthodoxy when even the Eastern Sees compromised. I do believe that RCCs are Christian. Why, they are steadfastly Trinitarian. There are several members who are home brew Christians here on this site that hold to heretical views of the Trinity. To be fair I don’t think they do so consciously. They are just sloppy in their theology. I believe the basic test is whether one can affirm the apostles creed.

Did you mean a different understanding, another meaning? Or the meaning hid in a parable?

The creed of which apostle. . Jesus?

I think Rome is in serious error .They teach that only a entity named Mary as queen of heaven received the fullness of the grace of Christ. All others receive an unknow remnant and therefore they do not come to the end or conclusion of faith. And even after they leave this realm under the Sun they must continue to wonder when will the sufferings end.

Christian receive the fulness from the beginning they have a living hope. Therefore there is no need to wonder rather that believe as a anchor for their soul. They understand they no longer have any part under the Sun. It is now we can offer our good works. There will be no labor in the grave. A person must be born again.

This creed:
believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried:
He descended into hell;
The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost;
The holy Catholick Church;
The Communion of Saints;
The Forgiveness of sins;
The Resurrection of the body,
And the Life everlasting.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this thread but I've always wondered about Catholicism.

I've always had questions about it and never really looked into it much. But I thought it was the Catholics that tortured and killed millions and millions of Christians? What was up with that and how does the Catholic church today talk about it?

I believe that many more than just one of the twelve had divine revelation.

Creeds are not prophecy they leave a person wondering.

What kind of communion of saints? Patron saint communing with the dead?

The Son of man was born of the virgin Mary our sister in the lord. She like us and her son lived in a earthen body of death .The power coming from within the unseen father working to both will and empower us to do His good pleasure. No power is attributed to the corrupted flesh of mankind

The Son of God as eternal Spirit remains without mother or father beginning of days or end of Spirt life. He abides in us as our high priest not seen . . .continually .

Hebrew 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

No such thing as holiness of the flesh (that seen ).Holiness of the unseen father .As Jesus said his flesh profits for nothing.

Power . . .bolded red
No Power
. . . bolded black

Romans 1:3-4 King James Version (KJV) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Not by his birth . Again no such thing as holiness of the flesh it has no power of its own . What applies to us applies to the apostle Jesus.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

You've misread this badly.

Hebrews 7:3 is talking about Melchizedek, not Jesus. Melchizedek's lineage was not recorded, nor was his death. What you're suggesting is this:

"The Son of God is ... made like unto the Son of God."

That would be silly.

The verse does not say that the Son of God is the eternal Spirit, and it doesn't say that the Son of God is without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days nor end of life.

Friend, you really need to read a history on the church. The communion of Saints are those believers who came before. Not a patron saint, but those who received their eternal reward. Part of the church triumphant.

And your doctrine of the incarnation as I read it is heretical. Christ is both 100% God and 100% man in hypostatic union. He is Lower than the Father as to touching his humanity and equal to father in touching his Godhead. If he’s less than God then he can’t make atonement for the sins of the world.
