I heard a counsellor on James Dobson's show talk about how men are visual creatures and for a man to be captivated by woman's attractiveness is completely normal....as long as he doesn't stare.
Did he say it’s completely normal for a woman to be captivated by a man’s attractiveness ...as long as she doesn’t stare?😁

Lust, is for what you can't have, like covetting.
Yes exactly, and if you belong to a woman then you can’t have anyone else; it’s a done deal👌
I can’t imagine Job appreciating another woman’s beauty but not lusting; he’s kind of saying, “What would be the point?!” and he’s also saying that he wouldn’t want it done to him and that it’s wrong.🤗

It's a kind of greediness... it is lust,
Nobody is free who feels these temptations, if they enjoy looking upon other people's bodies or relish in their beauty (if married). Feeling compelled to look or glance to visually explore the attractiveness of someone's face or body is intent and a spiritually dysfunctional one. I'm not talking about just seeing someone by the virtue of them being in your visual field.

I always hear the argument that God made men visual.

Ok.

"So if God made men visual... Does that mean women are blind?";)
lol...no it means that men are quickly sexually aroused and much much quicker to be attracted to a female by her form than a woman can...that's why it often doesn't take much for many men to be sexually manipulated ect by sexual/nonsexual imagery of women there is something unique about the female form that most men have a kind default setting with women in general that once a man is saved he needs God to alter that.
Having said that women are in the same way stimulated by what they see of course 100%..
look at poifers (not sure I got the spelling right) wife and joseph..she found him sexually attractive by how he looked.
That's why the movie, music industry seeks to appeal to women mostly by using handsome fit guys ect..it does work both ways.
However on another level many women may respond far more to a man due to an emotional reaction. Many times adultery happens due to how another man can make a woman "feel"..(valued,special,understood ect)
whereas for many men adulterous tendencies can be in his heart already hence watching porn, constantly lusting after other women ect.So much more i could add...but couldn't possibly go through it all on this thread here..😊😊
Hope that little insight helps.
My book will be published next week.. 🤣🤣🤣

they are called boobs ed...

this is why women usually dont walk around half naked. if Bathsheba had been clothed I dont think David would have been staring at her and inviting her over for a roll in the hay.

Liberal politicians who want to sell out America, domestic terrorists who want to destroy America, people in general who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

Yeah I am a bit over that excuse. It makes you feel really great about yourself if someone is with you and they are checking others out. I mean so what if the other person may be good looking. What about this relationship that they have built with you. Are they wiling to just throw it away. I never understand that.

Hi Encouragement,

Yes, I am fully aware of what this old adage means and implies.

And what I meant by my saying "If men are visual, does that mean women are blind?" is that I hate seeing the phrase "Men are visual!" when it's misused -- such as an excuse for lust or a double standard.

I've written about this several times before here -- I feel I need to say that as an apology to the old timers here who have already read this multiple times :) -- but whenever I hear, "Men are visual," I think of a guy's dating profile I read years ago on Christian Mingle.

I can't remember how old he was, but his profile was very specific about what he was looking for in a woman. He blatantly said that he was only looking for women who were young, thin, and had good bodies from being former cheerleaders, models, or gymnasts, and no one else need apply.

His reasoning was, "After all, God made men visual." He made it sound like it was his God-given right to have a knockout wife.

Ironically, in the picture he posted of himself, he very clearly had a double chin and most obviously was not a former cheerleader, model, or gymnast himself. (I have to give him at least some credit for posting a supposedly honest picture, but this was back in the day before photoshopping was the norm.) I could just picture this guy counting every calorie a woman ate, and asking her if she'd worked out yet that day, because after all, she would have to maintain her visual appeal for him.

But what about his visual appeal for her to be able to look at in turn? Sure, I realize there's a chance he might snag one of the 3 women on earth who look like models and are extremely visually attracted to men who are their physical opposite.

And I am in no way, shape, or form trying criticize different body types here.

All I'm saying is, one of my biggest turnoffs is when someone tries to use the supposed way God made them as an excuse to hold standards for others that they themselves do not meet.

Ahhh got ya!😊😊
sorry for causing you to have to re mention this..but itz worth every word..Yes i agree with the points you raised.
My goodness there also another well know saying about guys they say.."well guys will alwatys play!'...🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ as a reason to justify men who cheat in their wives/girlfriends.
Nothing can actually justify any behaviour types from any gender...Funny though sometimes we can want God to give us a model looking partner because we know he can do absolutely anything....like they must be of athlete build, with a 6 pack, times skinny ect ect.....🙄
I dunno how a woman would cope with a guy in the example you gave....a string will or string stomach?
Thanks for clarifying the context if your previous comments...yes I get what you mean for sure.👍👍😊😊😊

Hi Encouragement,

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post and expounding on your own thoughts. :)

Yes, when talking about the guy with a double chin who was demanding only former cheerleaders, models, and gymnasts contact him, I was picturing what it must be like to have a relationship with someone like that (though he would have rejected my application right away because I am none of those things.)

I could just see us at a restaurant -- and I'd be picking at a minute pile of lettuce and while watching him down a fat, juicy cheeseburger, extra-large fries and chocolate milkshake, all while heavily scrutinizing me to make sure I hadn't put too much dressing on my salad (too many calories, you know, and I would lose the "visual appeal" that God Himself had given him a right to!)

This would be about the time when I would tell him, "If God made men visual, does that mean women are blind? Because I can tell you right now, that burger is looking a heck of a lot better to me than you are."

love the last line..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣..that would most certainly bruise his ego for sure..
Yes unfortunately many men desire a woman who visually gratified their sexual lust both visually and physically and nothing more and it appeals to their ego to be with a woman like that to kinda prove that at their age or level of looks the guy has (often lower)that they can still attract a particular type of women.Like winning some kinda social romantic prize..🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
Pretty shallow stuff. I guess there are also many wealthy men with young beautiful model type wives/girlfriends who you know if they didnt have all that money they wouldn't of been able to attract women of that type..So many various standards out there.
I guess you would most probably end up walking outta that restaurant and leaving that dude to eat his burger alone..coz you know he would just be using your physical beauty as a means to an end..leaving u miserable..plus some guys wanna parade these women in inappropriate clothing and making then promote a sexualized image..
Basically they become like doll!😔😔

if you are a football player then you are forgiven for wanting to go out with a cheerleader, and vice versa.
Those people are made for each other.

But lots of people have OTHER things to do than play games all day and attend matches.
