Autism is a handy shield. One can claim he is autistic and say many trollish things, confident that if anybody calls him to task a lot of people will leap to his defense. "Hey leave him alone! He's autistic!"

So it needs to be with a pro lifer
Hi Trey,

Welcome to CC!

Please forgive me if I sound ignorant, as my only experience with people who have autism has been either online, working for a semester at a school for children with special needs, and working with parents who have children with autism.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but your thread title almost makes it sound as if autism creates an uncontrollable need that is out of the boundaries of your own decisions to have sex -- and I'm guessing this isn't so?

Therefore, why do you see your only choices as being to 1. have sex with a pro-lifer, or 2. have sex with a women who believes in abortion.

* Why aren't there any other choices?

* Why not tell God that you desire to marry a woman who is pro-life, and so if you waited to marry her and she did become pregnant, you could raise the child together as Godly parents?

* Why do you see your choices as being so extreme and narrowed down?

Whenever I see threads like this, the "good" side me always thinks, "Well, just in case this person is being sincere (after all, truth is stranger than fiction,) I'll try to write a reasonable, but cautiously skeptical reply."

The "bad" side of me always wonders, "I wonder just how far someone like this is willing to take it." And then I'm almost disappointed when they immediately give up.

Not that I want to encourage trolling, but why work so hard to be ridiculous when you don't have any more ridiculousness to back it up? Why put in so much effort if you're going to be just a one-trick pony?

Maybe it's just me, but the last few years especially I've been seeing more and more claims of being autistic and/or dyslexic (those seem to be the two most popular ones I've seen personally), with people then saying things such as, "So if I'm blunt or say such-and-such, you shouldn't be offended or get upset because I have ___________."

Now I am in no way trying to belittle or dismiss the struggles people have with these challenges, but I am always wondering, if they know enough to write a disclaimer about saying something offensive, where is the line drawn over which they seem to assume erases all responsibility for their actions?

I most definitely want to be sensitive to other people's needs -- I just wish someone would show me the ultimate line with every person over which I am supposed to expect to have all my own considerations as a human being thrown out the window, with all of it being my fault for not understanding whatever it is they are struggling with. (As if we don't all struggle with something ourselves...)

Nah, I'm just a person who has ________, ________, and ________, so thank you for being generous enough to give me a free pass in spite of it.:geek:;)
No worries. I used to keep myself up at night going over things that embarrassed me. Second guessing. I'm not 100% 'cured', but now I tell myself to quit it ;)

As a Christian why would ..... #1 you consider committing fornication #2 you be talking about having a baby with someone who might destroy it #3 you even be thinking about sex w/someone unequally yoked (I presume since you claim to be a Christian)
Why are you learned about pro-life v pro-choice but yet lack basic fundamentals of Christian living?
This I honestly don't understand.
