I have not said God's commandments were a curse. I am in cahoots with no one other than God LOL. You lie.
And I understand the fulfillment of Gods commandments is love I agree with you on that but some people are under this false belief that gods commandments were a curse it wasn't the commandments it was living in the flesh without the spirit under law of sin and death that was curse. I hope you understand my beliefs. I don't think were that far apart in what we believe and Im not some law pusher I believe in being obedient to gods commandments so I do his will not mine.

Jesus summed up the 10 Commandments by stating the two greatest commandments. If you are in compliance with the two greatest commandments you are complying with the 10 Commandments. Rather than strictly focusing on keeping the 10 Commandments it would be best to simply focus on being a humble servant of the Lord. If you do that you naturally would be in compliance with the two greatest commandments and thus keeping the 10 Commandments.

From Jesus?

Matt 22: 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lordyour God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

all the law means all the law

I do not agree with post on all matters, but I do consider him to be well studied and a beloved brother in Christ, unlike you, whom I do not know from a hole in the ground but come in here slandering and bearing false witness.

I believe that your point of contention is with the Catholic Church and not the other members of this site.

I do agree with you about the word 'Remember'. The Sabbath is a complex subject that entails much more than simply going to church on Saturday and all of the other stated requirements to keep in compliance.

For the record, while I do believe that the 4th commandment is still in effect it is still preferable to keep the focus on humbly serving the Lord. I don't really understand fully the Sabbath and certainly have never strictly been in compliance. Perhaps that is to my own detriment but remains to be seen.

It states in the bible that there are some that esteem one day over another and some who esteem a certain day and place a greater value on that.

I attempt to live as it states in Hebrews "Today, when you hear My voice harden not your hearts while it is still called Today". Sadly, fail miserly at times.

I made this comment in your other thread, you have yet to respond to it. Can you explain how I am wrong in this thinking and please respond

[QUOTE="eternally-gratefull,.......Amen, and that is why Jesus did not sin by breaking the sabbath. (Not because he is lord of the sabbath as someone suggested) but Because he was obeying a more important law.

most doctors nurses and other medical staff work to serve others, in doing this, they must at times work on Saturday, according to the law they would be in sin, but the law of love trumps the law of moses

civil authorities (police and fire) same difference

if my unbelieving neighbor needs help doing something that will take about 6 hours of hard labor. do I say, sorry, I must obey the sabbath I can’t help you, or do look To Jesus as an example, and serve my neighbor as a witness to God, even though by defenition I am breaking mosaic law?

The law was given to Israel, who as a nation was supposed to trust God for giving them all their needs, so,they were commanded not to do anything on Saturday to serve self but to trust God,

Sadly, Israel as well as many modern day 7th sabbath pushers. took this command to trust God completely for one day, and twisted it to mean something totally different than what God intended,

First Jesus being Lord of the Sabbath and who is the word manifested in the flesh couldn't possibly ever break any law on Sabbath cause he wasnt life in the flesh without spirit like everyone else who were still under condemnation for sin He was God in the likeness of man Filled with Spirit righteous in every way Holy so he was being example of how we should be on Sabbath when we live in him free from condemnation for sin. In the new covenant the Sabbath changed no more condemning laws its so you can be totally focused on him free from distractions of your work life and rest in him.

No, I believe we are supposed to follow the new commandment that Jesus issued, to love one another (and subsequently God, by showing love to "the least of the brethren" we also love Him). Because through this we fulfill the law and the prophets and also are not under a curse doing things that way. Why would I try to fulfill something that could never be fulfilled, and to bring myself under a curse? "The definition of insanity is to do the same things and expect different results"
I do not think it is possible to follow the commandments you label as new and disregard those you label as under the old covenant. The old covenant gave us the law in stone as rules, the new covenant gave us the very same laws, but in our hearts that contain the love that is of Christ if we are Christians.

In the first place, I don't think God took back what God gave us in the ten commandments. God is eternal, and this eternal God doesn't tell us one thing and later take it back to tell us something different.

I agree, it is possible to follow the old commandments that are given as rules legalistically so that we do not include love. An example is to follow the fourth commandment in regard to the Sabbath and not keep it holy. If we do not show love for our neighbor, we do not keep this day Holy. If we love we do not lie, bear false witness, or steal from him.

You know thinking.. granted this was written asked before the other ones about "10 commandment" thread. Yet thinking.. I never think about the 10 commandments. Yeah.. never. So what do I think about? My eyes my heart is on Him. You might be shocked at just how that takes care of everything. Some here know this.. there words in their posts bless me so much.. thank you Father for that.. I see Him shining..

See loving Him with all my heart all my soul and mind... loving my neighbor as I love my self. Yet.. we must see how can we love someone we don't truly know? Simply obeying the LAW wont fix this. Or how many truly do not like love them selfs? How we going to love our neighbors? So adding more burdens to them.. is very unwise its something He does not do. He always uses peace.. love. Fruits of the spirit.. 1st Cor 13. This is where our heart should be if IF we are here to help others :)

For God so LOVED... And God didn't send His son to condemn the world but to save it. And His burden is light.. His yoke is easy. Remined of this story shared it before.. somewhere. You can take it with a grain of salt. This preacher had so much mail from Christians. What I remember is Christ shows up. The preacher wanted to just lay hands on all of them and pray. He said.. Christ bent down and opened each letter and ready it. Love.....

If you do this you will be complying with the 10 Commandments. I really don't place a heavy emphasis on the 10 Commandments either but rather focus on the Two Greatest Commandments in trying to humbly serving the Lord. You are correct in saying that doing your best in keeping the two great commandments will take care of everything else.

If the Bible said that love fulfills the law, I'm compelled to trust that. God wouldn't confuse us would He?

Rom 13:8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
