Your first mighty man described himself as infinitely vengeful l he is also the first polygamist.

Gen 4
And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt.

24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
I would encourage you to check the order of events, and look for where Lamech is described as "a mighty man" or "a man of renown".

There is no reason to think that there are anything but normal human beings in the story.
Unless, of course, you trace the Hebrew terms through Scripture.

The Nephelim existed before the sons of God took the daughters of men as wives.

Gen 6
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans, who bore children to them. These were the heroes that were of old, warriors of renown.

There is little to go 9n that Nephelim are the offspring of sons of God and daughter of men

That verse doesn't support your previous assertion.

There is little to go 9n that Nephelim are the offspring of sons of God and daughter of men
And even less that they are merely regular humans. ;)

Yep Abraham sure thought there was a reason why he wanted his chief servant to put his hand under his thigh and swear he wouldn't find a wife from among the Canaanites for his son, must have had something to do with Eliphaz the Temanite's son Amalek and Numbers 13...

The drama of Gen 6 continued. Good point.

Since you claim that Scripture "clearly states" them, could you please provide chapter and verse for each of two bolded assertions. Quotations would be even better.
search it yourself it's not hard

Fallacy: burden of proof reversal. You made the claim, you provide the evidence. I'm not doing your homework for you, and I will consider your claims groundless until you step up.

You haven't provided anything to suggest that the Nephilim existed previously, in the time of Lamech.
Lamech is claiming to be mighty at vengeance and assuming war and is the first polygamist recorded in Scriptures. Probably the first strong enough to do it Add to that is the fact that he is listed among the patriarchs of "the daughters of men. Mighty man of fame, strength and disposition. I think that's good evidence.

He doesn't make any claim at all about being "mighty". There is so little written about him that I think you''re grasping at straws. We'll have to agree to disagree on this.

He claims to be mightier than the founding father Cain. Evident by the ever increasing payback wronging him brings is a claim of might. Something tells me Cain went down in their history as an archetype of might. Lamech dares to replace him.

If someone says to me "There were aliens on the earth when you went to the store" I know when I went to the store they were already here.

lol,, I've never seen anyone see the Nephilim like this. Most people see the angels(fallen) crossing with the DoM(humans) and their children(their offspring) were the Nephilim. Are you thinking that the fallen angels were the Nephilim or the offspring?

I don't believe fallen angels are written about directly in Gen 6. I do think they worked the idea and temptation in the vulnerable monogamist males and maybe even put the idea in the "daughters of men" but I don't think they were the Nephelim.

I think this scripture should be read as telling us the circumstances of the birth of the children. That happened WHEN the sons of God became thier fathers. Otherwise the nephilim would need to be created by the Lord as the angels were, and we are not told the Lord created nephilim.

Oh Okay I wasn't sure how you saw it and so it was difficult to follow along with the thread without asking. This is not actually an easy subject anyway most don't know what to think at first then later many just repeat what others say and then after a lot of digging they realize the angel/DoM= Nephelim being conveyed. I'm not immune to this either at first I didn't know then years later I said the angels don't mate speech like the rest but after digging a multitude of years I came to realize it's what he meant.

I think the point that changed my thinking was when I realized that the Jews decided to remove writings that insinuated this because they needed to say that "the Holy Spirit cant have a virgin offspring named Jesus just like the angels cant have baby's" so they backtracked and de-canonized writings they saw as dear before that point in time. In short their change of heart on Enoch,Jubilees ect. was that they cant say Mary(a virgin) cant conceive by the HS if they say that angels do(so they tossed those writings).
