He claims to be mightier than the founding father Cain. Evident by the ever increasing payback wronging him brings is a claim of might. Something tells me Cain went down in their history as an archetype of might. Lamech dares to replace him.
You are injecting a boatload of ideas into the text that are not actually there.

What is there that I think many people don't notice in the English is the meaning of the names. Those women's names meant Beautiful, Fair, Pleasant. This is interesting because later when it mentions the daughter of men being beautiful it is a natural interpretation to think that he is referring to the women in Cain's city because these names were previously mentioned.

There is far more going on than the names of the women. Beautiful women don't necessarily become mothers of mighty men.

Like Feudal Lords? Sure they do.

Their looks are emphasized by their names.
The lust for their looks and sexual sin is emphasized by marrying two instead of one.
The violence of murder is spreading emphasized by the killing of the young man.
The lack of repentance and self justification is emphasized by the song or boast of Lamech that he would get away with it if Cain did, because he was defending himself and so
we see a hardening of the heart emphasized.
All of this highlights the working of sin in the souls of men and the path of degradation that is still evident today in the life of each individual before conversion.
The Fuedal Lord, The Strongest rules over the weak, Mighty men of renown is a result of the process of yielding to the sin that crouches at the door that would master them.

I'm going to state this simply: on this subject, both you and Benadam need to do more homework and less eisegesis.

Oh Okay I wasn't sure how you saw it and so it was difficult to follow along with the thread without asking. This is not actually an easy subject anyway most don't know what to think at first then later many just repeat what others say and then after a lot of digging they realize the angel/DoM= Nephelim being conveyed. I'm not immune to this either at first I didn't know then years later I said the angels don't mate speech like the rest but after digging a multitude of years I came to realize it's what he meant.

I think the point that changed my thinking was when I realized that the Jews decided to remove writings that insinuated this because they needed to say that "the Holy Spirit cant have a virgin offspring named Jesus just like the angels cant have baby's" so they backtracked and de-canonized writings they saw as dear before that point in time. In short their change of heart on Enoch,Jubilees ect. was that they cant say Mary(a virgin) cant conceive by the HS if they say that angels do(so they tossed those writings).
I think they recognized that the book of Enoch lowered their scriptures to the kind of story found in Greek myth and others.

Are you sure it's your opinion the Lord is setting up fuedal lords who yield to sin to rule the weak? https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel 2:21&version=KJV

So like in post #800 where Josephus says that the Jews tradition was that angels took the DoM and bore the Nephilim like in Greek Myths you think that sometime after the writing of Antiquities and the rise of Christianity (where we believe that the HS fathered a son with a virgin and was flesh) they changed their mind? Whose winning and whose taking a loss in establishing that spirits cannot reproduce?

I don't think it was anything but good theology on their part

The Holy Spirit of God is not an angel... I think that makes a big difference :)

There is no Scripture to show angels taking on human form aside from doing the express will of God.

I don't think that the Jews shifting from believing something before Christ to denying it after Christ is good theology I see it as removing writings to eliminate anything to do with Jesus.

The serpent in the garden was he an angel if not what was he?

It is my understanding that this is probably the best translation from those who know Hebrew and wrote about their reasons for this interpretation. Mighty men of renown is a cryptic translation that means something similar to what we see in the middle ages with Feudal Lords. I don't think anyone knows 100% what it means and so far I think this is the best hermeneutic I have seen presented by those who make a case for it. They were mighty in their wickedness and famous for it. It suggest a violent rapine. Maybe they were the biggest of stature and developed weapons and commanded armies to force their will upon others.

Since the serpent is identified as Satan, yes, but not a human being.

Satan needed permission to go after Job... do you think he may have needed the same to go after Eve?

"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat." <- Jesus speaking in Luke 22:31

But it was their will and not Gods and the Lord destroyed them in the flood because they were doing this against Gods will?

The book of Enoch was never considered inspired.

Yes Revelation 20:2 identifies the serpent as satan, the devil https://biblehub.com/revelation/20-2.htm and we knew that he is an angel and he was punished because what he did was against Gods will. In 2 Corinthians 2:14 https://biblehub.com/kjv/2_corinthians/11-14.htm is Satan doing these things against Gods will?

me and scribe were discussing "feudal lords" so I was not meaning that they did not exist after the flood but if their role was as an "feudal lord" but your correct they existed before and after the flood.
