So, because the names Raphael and Phenual do not appear in the other scriptures, you reject Jude's quoting of Enoch? Consider the following:

"Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head. His face was like the sun, and his legs were like pillars of fire."

What is the name of the angel above? You don't know, because it is not given in the scripture. However, he is a real angel and what John witnessed of this angel he wrote in the book of Revelation. Just because his name is not mentioned, does not mean that he is not real. It is faulty reasoning on your part to reject the information contained in Enoch, just because the names of those two angels are not found in the other 66 books of the Bible. The fact is that, many angels are mentioned throughout the word of God, but I believe that there are only two angels that we are given the names of, which is Michael and Gabriel. However, there are many other angel mentioned whose names are never mentioned.

If that is your conclusion, then you also have to reject Jude's quoting of Enoch, as well as both Peter's and Jude's comments regarding there those angels who sinned, which is contained in the writings of Enoch. For how can you accept one prophecy and not others?

I'm not going to continue to debate this with you. The Spirit in me confirms the validity of the book of Enoch and I will continue to except it as scripture. If you reject it, then you are free to do so. But you are not going to convince me otherwise.

I have been studying with discernment for many years regarding all Biblical issues, including the writings of Enoch. For I am zealous for the truth and accuracy of God's word. And the details that Enoch gives in regards to those angels who took wives, the resulting giants, the corruption that the angels caused and the flood and all related information, I believe.

One thing that I have noticed is that, when the Spirit reveals a Biblical truth, those to whom it has not been revealed reject it. I've told you before, the writings of Enoch were a part of the scriptures up until the third century. That is a fact. Another fact is that Enoch walked with God and God took him, which means that he pleased God. Therefore, the prophecies of Enoch should not be a hindrance to you. The bottom line is, believe it or don't.
why did Jude perceive quoting of the book of Enoch?

First off Jude would not have known of its false claims or if Enoch even wrote it. The Book of Enoch was a verbal tradition written done by someone other than Enoch. That is a big problem. Clearly, Jude is quoting Enoch (if he is at all) to address those in verse:4

"who For certain men have crept in unnoticed, long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men,(not angels) who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ."

Also, Jude addresses Apostasy in vers 5-8

But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, (what did they once know?) that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

:6
And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode,(Heaven) He(GOD) has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;

:7

as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality
Note: the context herein not of Angels but of men sinning sexually The word "AS" doesn't translate to THEM doing. Angels sinned and AS so did men at Sodom were judged.

and gone after strange flesh, (man is doing this not angels) are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Sodom and Gomorrah suffered fire judgment, not angels. The flood did not kill angels it killed men and anminals

Continuing :

:8
Likewise, also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. (Men did this.)

There was betrayal in Heaven of angels to God as the same as a man did to God both will be judged and suffer the same fate.

Jude spoke out about these perceived tales and he did not reinforce them the idea of Angels having sex, instead, Jude spoke a more
powerful message :

  • Contend for the faith
  • Old and New Apostates that of angels and of men
  • The judgment of betrayal of men and angels who do so.
  • Apostates Predicted verse 16-19
  • Maintain Your Life with God
  • All Glory to God

There is nothing edifying in the book of Enoch if the only thing those who read it see sex with angels.

Jude and Enoch could not be any further apart from what the Holy Spirit gave to Jude to says and what writer of Enoch said that has some truth mixed with errors, The Holy Spirit doesn't make errors

Thanks for the Christian love!

" All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

1Co_13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Knowledge is nothing if there is no charity.

And neither of the Scriptures you posted say......Angels take on the form of flesh and bones or put on the flesh of men.
That's cool. We don't need to talk about this if it's going to ruffle your feathers. I'm not here to fight with anyone.

In post #227 YOU said...................
"2ndTimothyGroup said:
They were spirits that took on the flesh of "man.""
Just like Christ, they were a "little lower than angels."

I responded to that with................
"However.....the Scriptures do not say that do they. That is Rationalization!

Jesus was GOD my friend and Because Jesus took on flesh to be born of the virgin Mary, in no way then can be extrapulated that an angel or a woman gave birth to a man who is 100% angel and 100% God.

That would make that person the God-Angel!

Are you sure that is what you are going to go with??????
I have no idea of what you're talking about. Maybe that's because I'm just not interested any longer. Cheers.

Actually that is not applicable IMHO.

Strange PERSONS may often turn out to be “angels.”

1. It may be so with the “stranger” who enters our household.

2. It may be so with the “stranger” in our neighbourhood.

3. It may be so with the “stranger” in our church.

There is no reason for thinking that under the Christian dispensation angelic beings ever assume a visible form.

Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to comfort us, NOT ANGELS.
Am going to quote you:

"As I have stated.....anyone can believe what they choose to believe.

I for one am a BIBLE literalist. By that I mean that the Bible says what God wanted us to know."

What is with the 'it may be sos' then?

"The Sons of God" took wives, Angel's don't marry humans, it's that simple..
So, it is simple to believe that scripture does not tell truth. For example believe that the world was the same before and after the flood, so as we look at our world today we can know what the world was like before the flood. It is simple to believe that it is impossible for God to have create a world any different from our today's world. It is simple to decide Paul had rocks in his head when he spoke of angels having the appearance of men. It is simple to believe that people today are a lot smarter than Jude was when Jude thought there was truth in the book of Enoch.

It takes quite an inflated ego of any person who knows a lot more than what scripture tells them.

The Book Of Enoch Below As Posted By Ahwatukee, Has Described The Giants As 300 Cubits or 450 Feet Tall, As Long As Noah's Ark, And They Were Running Around Eating Humans?

Cubit = 18"

How Could Any Reasonable Person Believe That Fictional Fairy Tale:giggle:

There Sure Isnt Any Fossil Record Of Bones, Showing A Being 450 Feet Tall, Big Smiles To That One!

Genesis 6:15KJV
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

Enoch 7:11-13
"And they conceiving brought forth giants; whose stature was each three hundred cubits. These devoured all which the labor of men produced; until it became impossible to feed them; When they turned themselves against men, in order to devour them.

I fully believe there were (Human Giants) as the bible clearly explains

Og King of Bashan was the last of the giants, his bed was made of iron, and 9 cubits or 13.5 feet long, and 4 cubits or 6 feet wide, a really big human!

That sure is a far cry from the book of Enoch's giants at 300 cubits or 450 feet tall, running around eating humans :)

Deuteronomy 3:11KJV
11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

Christian forums are full of people who say that and my guess is that is because you could not get one.

Persoanlly I have Two and would not take any amount of money for them!!!!

Ecclesiastes 7:12 -
For wisdom [is] a defence, [and] money [is] a defence: but the excellency of knowledge [is, that] wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

Proverbs 18:15 -
The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

2 Timothy 3:16 -
All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Maybe if you had a degree from a Christian seminary, you would have known about those Scriptures!
Did they teach you to personally attack others who disagree?

This tends to be a highly passionate subject and people tend to want to force their opinions. I encourage you to use the SCRIPTURES to support your thoughts.

Genesis 6:3-4-5........
"The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God (bene Elohim) came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."

Numbers 13:30...........
"There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

1.
Now one view that is a popular today but is HIGHLY unbiblical is that the Nephilim are space aliens.

2.
Another view is that fallen angels bred with women and resulted in giants called Nephilim. Some believe the sons of God were the result of fallen angels who overtook ungodly men to breed with women.

3.
Then another view is that they were the Sethites (descendants of Adam’s son Seth). Along with and actually encompassing that view is that kings, rulers, or heads of leading family groups as being godly from Psalm 82. This view has many similarities to the Sethite view but eliminates many of Seth’s descendants and merely keeps with the leaders/kings (as well as some other leaders of other tribes) as godly. This view actually has more Bible support than #2 and # 1 has NO Bible support at all.

So that I do not leave you in suspense, I will tell you up front that as a Bible proponent, I believe that #3 is the correct view.

What do you think?

WHY????

So there it is.......discuss!
This has been discussed at different times here, I even did a blog on it which can be found Here

Frankly, I don't know what the answer is. But I am certain that your answer of the entire thing being a myth is a wrong answer.
God made Guppies and He made Blue Whales that weigh up to 180 tons. Nothing is outside of the scope and Raw Power of our Awesome God! To make extra large humans is nothing to God.

There is a purpose and reason for the Lord creating Giants, and it the answer is that they brought Him Glory. The Holy Purpose of these giants was to show the rest of the world how Powerful God is by His ability to fight the battles [for] Israel. God was able to subdue these massive creations, thus handing them over to Israel to do as God commanded them . . . to wipe them out altogether. God did not choose Israel because they were the largest, but because they were the smallest . . . so that He could exercise His Power through them and their story.

So whether God creates Giants or if He places new hearts and Spirits in His Children as said in Ezekiel chapters 11 and 36 . . . there is no difference. Defeating Satan is defeating Satan in this physical, meager world, whether it is done by slaying evil Giants or if it by slaying the evil Sin Nature. It is all the same . . . for slaying Giants is a foreshadow of the Circumcision of Christ.

We must process the entire Bible through Colossians 2:9-15, and when doing so, the Scriptures will come alive as never before.

Colossians 2:11-15 KJV - "In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

NO.

But God has not removed what my father gave me and that is to ignore those who post really sarcastic comments to begin with that attack the education of those who have worked to be acceptable to God who rightly divide the Word of God.

IF you had not posted such a comment then I would not have been forced to respond to it. THINK before posting!

NO you are not. YOU are giving a personal opinion about something you do not know anything about.

YOu are judging ALL based on your perception of ONE or a few and that is unchristian!

If I said that "Christian Forums" are unchristian....what does that make everyone on THIS forum my friend??????
