I confess that I am quite scared... the doctor informed me already that my next scan would be this month....this time I wish someone would be there with me to just hold my hand during my ultrasound...I wish... 😟
I will say a prayer for God to send to you a comforter. I know how hard and unsettling it can be to face the hard things alone. I will als pray that all goes well with the scan. "Fear not" says the Lord.

We have had a bit of a brutal summer this year but I don't know whether I am quite ready for the cold weather just yet and not looking forward to chopping wood again.

Plus the wood has gotten very expensive.

apparently if you burn all the rubbish/waste that you produce that could keep you warm instead of chopping down living trees...

my confession is Im trying to put off someone who seems desperate to see me that she has no qualms about interrupting my work. Im like no, sorry, you Im not going to be seeing you in my lunchbreak and no Im not going to have my phone on me.

the other confession is I basically told my boss if you not in the business of selling books, then why even have a bookshop. He doesnt want to risk his business by actually buying books and selling them. Basically what hes doing is holding books for 3 months, magically expecting customers to buy them, and then returning all the ones that dont get sold.

I did some chopping of wood during my 8 years in Maine. It would have helped a lot if the blade on the axe was sharp.

well today is the day, maybe I will get fired for speaking up

Its weird some people dont like it when I point out things they actually DID ask for my opinions on.

Is a splitter better to use than the axe? I find the splitter too heavy to use.

I have used a splitter but the one available was very old and did not work very well. If it were new or in good shape splitting logs would've been much easier than manually splitting with an axe. Safer too. Most of my splitting was done with an axe.

Usually, when someone asks for an opinion they are trying to validate their point of view or perception. If the opinion is contrary to their personal narrative things can get a bit hostile.

For small logs, an axe is sufficient, however for large logs, a splitting maul or wedge and sledge hammer is by far better.

I used these tools as well. When I lived in Maine there was a wood stove and I spent many hours keeping it going.

tip,,,go to your local bookstore. All the books that are unsold and returned, ask if you can use them as fuel for fire. They will only get pulped and used as toilet paper.

After all paper is made from trees.
