What are the chances the Old Covenant was literally about the flesh? Could us under the New Covenant be becoming Spiritual Angels to replace the fallen ones? Are the Jews going to become man again on a new Earth? I wouldn't mind being an Angel, it's just a little strange we weren't directly told ..maybe that would have caused a problem that I'm not seeing.
it’s a covenant made with man with the flesh and blood of Abram who was the father of Isaac , who was the father of Jacob , who God renamed Israel when he wrestled with the heavenly man until daybreak and they were deadlocked
ever read that story when he renamed Jacob and Israel was born ? But then all of Jacobs who was named Israel’s sons 12 of them became israel and its division of the twelve tribes.
Moses covenant was acrually
Made with the blood descendants of Abram Isaac and Jacob . But this was the covenant when it was made with the children of Israel
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live”
The covenant could be either a blessing and long life in the land of promise of they obeyed every command and ordinance .
but when they broke it at any point , it then became a curse to the transgressor and calls for thier separation from God.
see brother even a liar is in this position
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:8 KJV
all Who do and promote and excuse sin is in this position
“The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Matthew 13:41-43 KJV
but also all who judge others for sin are in this position
“But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest:
for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:
condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.”
Luke 6:35-40 KJV
“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.”
What I think we do is look at our own self first if we’re a sinner the. We have no place judging anyone , but we can tell them about Gods mercy and the laws of Christ in the gospel so the sinner can see forgiveness and mercy
“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
Matthew 5:7 KJV
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 KJV
If we were to learn the principles like that in the gospel and practice and also share them
“So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;
and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
James 2:12-13 KJV
“Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
James 5:19-20
“But the end of all things is at hand:
be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging.”
1 Peter 4:7-9 KJV
“And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee,
and the other a publican.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other:
for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Luke 18:9-14
it’s hard for self righteous people to accept the gospel because it tells them to look first at their own sins before they look at others . It’s tough but many never acknowledge thier sins and secrets to God
“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
1 John 1:6-10 KJV
light makes what is in darkness visable. So we will repent but
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
John 3:19-21
The gospel is mostly about us getting our faith correct in him and part of that is not judging but loving and learning
