Is anyone willing to answer me this? In all honesty, can you see an end to this 'disagreement' and a satisfactory and harmonious result from it ? I certainly cant. Why is that ?
GINOLJC, to all.

the Word of God is the final authority, and a healthy discussion is Good. and the apostle Paul reason with many, Acts 18:4 "And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks."

some of the informatation being posted here is being heard for the first time by some, and many may get a better understanding of the scriptures other than the standard line that has been given by many church leaders who themselves did not know, or understood the scriptures correctly themselves.

so a healty discussion is Good.

as the scriptures states, 1 Thessalonians 5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

and if something is reproved, Ephesians 5:13 "But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."
Ephesians 5:14 "Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light."

Well to end a thing, concentrate in on the FACTS.
FACT, Pastoring is a work that is GIVEN by God himself, scripture, Jeremiah 3:15 "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding."
the work of a Pastor is to feed the flock of God with "KNOWLEDGE", and "UNDERSTANDING".
this is done by the ministry GIFTS, Ephesians 4:11 "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"
Ephesians 4:12 "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"

NOW I ask, are women "teachers?" yes or no?

This argument will never be resolved without Gods intervention because it is rebellion. It has caused me distress and tears. I shan't be engaging in it any further. I am happy with my church and my male pastor. Amen.

Ok. I can understand this. But at points the 'discussions' become abusive, tyrannical and totally ungodly from those who seek to usurp the Word of God. How do you deal with this ?

Gods Words Are Very Clear On A Womans Role In The Church, And They Aren't Changing Anytime Soon.

Silence, Subjection, Obedience

1 Timothy 2:11-14KJV
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

1 Corinthians 14:33-35KJV
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

2 Timothy 3:-3-5KJV
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

You may continue your 'duscussion' till Kingdom Come. Gods word and authority will stand forever. Thankfully I have better things to do than argue. I'm a woman and therefore not meant to teach a man. I am going to serve God now and leave this God forsaken web site.

Yes ok. We are in agreement. I myself am a woman. And I have of course experienced gross ungodly mistreatment at the hands of men from both outside and inside the church. I expect it from the world, but it should not ever happen within the church. But placing a woman in the pulpit is not going to rectify this situation. Women who argue for their 'rights' to be ordained are just as grievous as men who mistreat women, as both behaviours are rebelling against God and His Word.
Thats right, and i did not wantet to excuse the one with the other.
I know you are a woman, I was on your Profile:). But to have this understanding is becoming minority, even in the church. And sometimes you ask yourself where is the different between church and World.
Yesterday i read a a Statistik, that in germany 49% of the members in the freechurches believe that Jesus Christ is realy risen from the death. So what wonder about what is preached in the churches, even about women to be pastor.

It is always great to have an allied in the truth. The onslaught of falsehood and abuse can seem relentless and totally formidable. What a shocking statistic you have just quoted. We must hold firmly to the truth, no matter what railing is brought against us.

Thats why, someone has a wrong understanding from the scripure. And the devil is uesing this. Disharmony in the church is his goal, not believing God is his Goal. Distrust in God is his goal. .......

thanks for that acknowledgment, and welcome to the forum, I'm new myself. now some advice, as a child of God ignore any words that may seems abusive, tyrannical and totally ungodly. we as children of God must follow in the foot steps of our Lord and Saviour, JESUS, the christ. what did he do? ... "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". so when we here this type of language, it not really them, but there ignorance of the scriptures, so don't charge it to there hearts, but to there heads, for we all once was disobedient ... in ignorance. so we must be able to take the hardness, for their sake. just as the apostle Paul said, "the Lord saw fit to put him in the ministry, because what he did was out of ignorance", and the Lord forgave him, so as us, as well as them. so pray for those who may despitefully miss use you. but pray always for the Lord to change, and OPEN their hearts, this is how one "WIN", meaning OVERCOME.

so now back to the topic, yes, women TEACH, which is the Pastoral qualification for BISHOP. all other qualification are personal.
1 Timothy 3:2 "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;"
see, all the rest are personal qualifications, but the bibical qualification is to TEACH, which all do, Apostles, as well as Prophets. so examine the qualification there in 1 Timothy 3.

and after you read those qualification, then get back with me and we will discuss without any arguing... ok

be blessed

thanks for the reply, so lets reason, as the bible say do. now I suspect you're referring to to this scripture, 1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

so is this the verse? I hope so.

now, lets discuss.

Fact #1. the term woman here is "Wife" and how do we know this? just keep on reading, 1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
1 Timothy 2:13 "For Adam was first formed, then Eve."
1 Timothy 2:14 "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."
1 Timothy 2:15 "Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."

well here's the problem, not all women baer Children, (some even Married). so this verse cannot be speaking of all women in General, only Married ones. see the point now? so the setting here is a MARRIED Woman. that defeat your argument. because all woman don't bare Childern.

now you may rebut if you can.

first thanks for the reply, second, this is what a discussion do, rebut if you can, and reprove, by giving FACTs to back up what you states. did I give an excuse?, not facts why you misunderstood the scripture. so why the statement, "The devil seems to be losing his powers of subtlety here", that has nothing to do with the scriptures at hand. I suggest you stick to the SCRIPTURES,

now, do you have any rebuttal to what I have posted?

You have simply argued against scripture instead of believing it. That's all I need to know. Personally I do not see a problem in any of the scripture. The evidence is in my faith in the written word. I cannot prove my faith to you. I can only tell you that I believe scripture where it says a woman should not teach a man. You are wasting your time and arguing for the sake of arguing, as well as serving satan himself, if you are wishing to persuade me to second guess and disbelieve scripture.

So if a couple is coming as pastor into the church for to serve there, as it happend in a Baptist church near my place. Then the Man is allwed to be Pastor, but the woman (wife) not. According your Argumentation.
So an unmarried woman then is allowed to teach?
In the time of Paul, if I am not wrong, a woman was under the authority of her father ore older brother, till she married.
No wexshould find out in which age the woman married in those time. But I a suggest that they were young. Late Teen early twen?
And they then were allwoed to teach man?
Before they married?

But the point of Paul why woman ( married ore not ) should not teach over man is a twofold:
1. Verse: vers 13: man was build before the woman.
2. verse 14:the woman was deceived.

I know that many try to discuss this facts away, but then you have to ignore the Word of God.
Because there is no Single vers in the NT which allowes a man to teach over man. ( to have authority over man)

You have simply argued against scripture instead of believing it.
my question to you how can you believe what you don't UNDERSTAND, because you might believe ... "WRONG".
Personally I do not see a problem in any of the scripture.
Personally have nothing to do with the scriptures, 2 Peter 1:20 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." so what I or you "Personally" think is useless, stick with the Facts.
The evidence is in my faith in the written word
evidence? Proverbs 4:5 "Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth."
Proverbs 4:6 "Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee."
Proverbs 4:7 "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
THERE IS THE EVIDENCE.
I cannot prove my faith to you.
UNTRUE, this is why we have the A. the scriptures, and B. the Holy Ghost in us. and the scriptures are clear, 1 Thessalonians 5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
so that's just an excuse.
I can only tell you that I believe scripture where it says a woman should not teach a man.
FAITH, is not blind, did you not read, 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." the scriptures states, "STUDY". another excuse.
You are wasting your time and arguing for the sake of arguing
well you did say something true, I just might be wasting my time try to discuss a topic, with that GOOD DAY.
