Has no relationship to women as pastors. You proof-text at the expense of context.
I SAID that women may not be present . . . but. And then you have to state what I've already stated.

My question to you is this: Why are you here? What is your agenda?

As I said if you take verses out of context, you can claime everything. The great day of the Lord in Maleachi has not came till today.
But, I suppose we miss the theme of this thread :)

God never gave Gentile women the gifts you describe.
Given that Paul writes to the Corinthians (a mixed Jewish-Gentile church) and specifically permits women to prophesy in chapter 11, and that Paul also writes to the Galatians saying that, in Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek (Gentile), male nor female, your comments are contrabiblical. You cannot prove your case, and the weight of Scripture stands against your assertion.

Joel's prophecy in Joel 2 is for Israel in the tribulation period. Pentecostal charismatic types have it all wrong.
Given that Peter specifically states that the events in Acts 2 are a fulfillment of Joel 2, your statement is in error.

Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 2:39 "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

NOW, who are the children that are afar off? Gentiles. but are the Gifts of the Holy Spirit for men or Women? what did Peter say?, "For the promise is unto you, and to your children" your children? well lets see who are the Children of God...... Romans 9:6 "Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:"
Romans 9:7 "Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called."
Romans 9:8 "That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

the Children of the PROMISE, what did Peter by the Holy Ghost say? ""For the promise is unto you, and to your children", and who are the Children of God? "That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God"

one must be, have to be, got to be, "BORN AGAIN", of the Spirit to recieve the promise. and God's Children are neither male nor FEMALE, so, the the Statement "Gentile Women", is a false statement.

Women may not have been present (in the story below), but Gentiles were certainly given the ability to speak in tongues (prophesy).

Acts 10:44-47 NKJV - "While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?"
"Tongues" were not then and are not now "PROPHESY" directed.

The "tongues" spoken today are "GIBBERISH"!

I testify to the Baptist, that falsely believe and teach the sign gifts died with the Apostles?

I received the gift of tongues, that you claim is gibberish 43 years ago while praying in my room, asked and received, and its exactly the same today

Sorta like telling the blind man that was healed by Jesus Christ, that he really was seeing.

Your claim of gibberish, is Gods Holy Spirit making intercession, groaning which cant be uttered, in accordance to God's will.

Romans 8:26-27KJV

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

1 Corinthians 14:22KJV
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

You incorrectly define the word prophecy. Corinth was a church that was not being commended for doing the right things. They were a church is disarray. If you wish to pattern the church after the Corinthian church you create a great error.

The signs that Joel prophecy says will occur have not taken place.

You completely misinterpret Galatians and make a faulty application as a result. There is no difference in relation to how folks are saved. There remains differences in every part of the body for ministry.

You do not believe the bible because you will not receive it's teachings.

I disagree with you on this one Roger :)

Peter was speaking directly of the event in Acts 2:14-16 below as fulfillment of Joel's prophecy, very clear, simple, easy to understand below.

Acts 2:14-16KJV
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

I didn't define the word, "prophecy" at all. I didn't pattern the church after the Corinthians. Peter said the events of Acts 2 were a fulfillment of Joel's prophecy. I didn't interpret Galatians, so I could not have misinterpreted it.

Now when I read his response I read this..........
"Your claim is false, women are to be silent, subjected, and obedient, it's that simple, will you continue to rebel against Gods instruction below, concerning women in the church ".
God is not a God of confusion ...women are to prophesy

It all depends on what YOU mean by ...."women are to prophesy". If YOU mean by that that women can TEACH then yes that is Biblical.
The New Test. identifies to "PROPHESY" as giving FORTH the truth which is TO TEACH and does not mean to FORETELL anything.

Women can teach children, other women and even men when the authority of men are NOT UPSURPED or by that, a qualified man is NOT bypassed in favor of a woman.

If you are trying to say that women can PASTOR a church then you are wrong. That is exactly what the Bible does not say.

So Joel does 2 not qualify as scripture?

How do you define prophecy?

in the context of 1cor chapter's 12 through 14 prophesyings is speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. That is were established as normative in the Old Testament and the NEW. The context of Joel 2:28 was clarified BY Peter in the Book of Acts

it was not Pentecostals who said :

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;

And they shall prophesy.
Acts 2:14-18

Peter led by the Holy Spirit confirmed what had happened in Acts chapter 2.

I am sorry my friend.....I do not accept that in any way. YOU may be uttering soem kind of noise and I do not mean to disrespect you but I do not know how else to describe what I see other than that word.

The Scriptures are clear that the Apostles spoke in tongues and when the last one died they ended.

IF YOU are doing it, then you are doing it because YOU are choosing to do it no matter what the Scriptures say. No one today can rightly claim to speak in tongues by God’s power today.

I believe that YOU would agree that Among those ‘speaking in tongues’ today are Pentecostals and Baptists, also Roman Catholics, Episcopalians, Methodists, Lutherans, and Presbyterians.

I think that you would also agree that Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth …” !

YOU said YOU speak in tongues and I am not asking you if you are Baptist or Pentecostal but I am asking you - who “speak in tongues”....... are YOU then suggesting that the Roman Catholics, who “speak in tongues” have been ‘guided into all the truth,’ by the Holy Spirit, as YOU as a Protestant have been????????

You see, you can not have it both ways. BY YOUR own words, since YOU speak in tongues and Roman Catholics speak in tongues then YOU BOTH have been guided into ALL TRUTH. That means YOU agree with the RCC teachings of Mary as the Co-Redeemer, The Immaculate Conception of Mary, The Assumption of Mary, Purgatory, the Rosary and about 30 more NON-BIBLICAL RCC false teachings.

Again...YOU can not have it both ways!

If modern-day “speaking in tongues” is truly, the same as the first century, and it is evidence, proof that a person has Holy Spirit; then, all of the above groups I mentioned would equally have to be the true path to God.

You probably had not considered that but now that YOU know......what is your opinion?????????

Acts 2:14-18

Peter led by the Holy Spirit confirmed what had happened in Acts chapter 2.
Read Joel 2:17-18 with precision and you will see the actual context.

Yes the Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh but the prophecy then restricts prophecy, dreams and visions to a very specific group. Additionally I Cor 13:8 teaches that along with tongues prophecy ends. This is the direct revelation of God given to the apostles to write down the word of God so we can have it today. If scripture is approached with a capricious and superficial attitude the genuine meaning remains hidden.

Of course if one endeavors to prophecy today and the prophecy fails as it will then those who support the practice must move to stone the prophet as a false prophet.
