ME?! Shoot, I rarely "speak my mind" unlike you (heh, no danger here). I probably need to learn to do that more, but I am not fully convinced I should in everything. Sometimes putting a cork in it seems more advisable.

I guess I will have to admit to knowing you now that you outed me.

Yes I regard you as a good friend in Christ. Good to know you!

But I don't know what caused me to jump onto this thread, it could have been you, I do not recall but when I saw that that smart crap technology it will get me everytime. That will drag me into any thread. Folks should keep their old stuff or go Amish (or Luddite) it will eventually save you money and headaches.

I am eyeballing that double washtub over at Lemans so when our 20 year old Maytag ever breaks down (and parts can no longer be found) I can just dump our wash into that.

Although, I still want to see if I can still use my machine for a spin cycle, that spin cycle would be a real help because they dont make those washer wringers like they used to either. I would love to pay an engineer to remake me one using the best stuff and be done with it until my day of passing, would be nice.

Anyone an engineer here?
There is so much "stuff" in America and the world, I trust the Lord will lead you to a rarely used near as new one if you need, or keep the one you have going till the rapture or our time on earth is done, remember how the writer of Psalms said he had never seen the righteous forsaken? I think that is you as well.

This has certainly made donuts easy to make. I wonder if they still taste good. Worth a try (y)

Good morning friends :)

I like your new avatar, Ms Ruby :)

Such a pretty flower!
Thankyou, I liked the colours in it. I thought I would give cats a break for at least a few weeks lol.
I still drink coffee and eat donuts though.

Good morning, everyone.

I haven't been getting much sleep lately, and I'm pretty exhausted.

There's nothing wrong with me (besides my obvious, deep-rooted psychological problems...lol).

I've just been waking up way too early (been up since 4:00 a.m. today...3:00 a.m. yesterday).

If anybody has a home remedy for sleep (besides hanging upside down in my closet with my head in a bucket of piranha fish...lol), then I'm in.

Seriously, if any of you wouldn't mind saying a quick prayer that I get some much needed sleep, then I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Four am wake-up, get up, have coffee and start my day became a norm for me over the last year... one day it was 2 am when I got up, and unsure as to whether I was up for a few minutes or for good, it was 2:45 before I decided it was for good and made coffee :giggle: Now there are days when I sleep in so late it is daylight when I get out of bed, though that is still rare. So late meaning 7:30 LOL. Today it was 3:45 when I got up... after going to bed at 11:30 pm. Four hours sleep? Ugh. Yesterday I had two naps! It may be the same today. Are you able to nap during the day?

Whatever the cause of your sleep issues, I pray you are able to function fully throughout the
day, and have a good sleep in the nights to come, waking fully refreshed and rejuvenated :)

The last time that I slept a full 8 hours in one night was way back in 1988.

I think that I might have mentioned this here before, but, not too long ago, I tried to calculate how far behind I am in sleep, and I calculated that I was 90 years behind in sleep.

Seeing how I'm only 59 years old, I obviously misplaced a decimal point somewhere (probably due to sleep-deprivation)...lol.

Anyhow, I normally average about 5 hours of sleep per night, but lately I've been getting even less than that. I've also been running around like a maniac (what else would you expect from a maniac?...lol), mostly in relation to my children (who I love to pieces).

A nap sounds great. I just hope that I don't pull a Rip Van Winkle. If I do, then I'll see you in about 40 years...lol.

My schedule, at the moment, seems open today, so a nap really would be great.

Rip Van Winkle only slept for twenty years ;) All kidding aside, hey! My average sleep for well over the past decade was about five hours of sleep a night also :D So going from that to suddenly needing about 12 hours a day was quite a drastic change for me, with an increased me sleep needs by well over 100% o_O People used to tell me five hours was not enough, and yet I functioned normally regardless... well, normal for me. Hee hee, what is normal anyways? I was working then, too, but did not have the responsibilities you do with raising children, and teenagers at that. I rarely napped then, as the only day I could was often Sunday, and napping Sunday afternoon would totally wreck my ability to get a good sleep Sunday night, so I mostly would not. I did find, however, that I could easily fall asleep on my chesterfield, laying on my back, which was odd because I do not normally sleep on my back at all. Have you ever tried drinking chamomile tea before bed, or valerian root tea? Or taking melatonin? Melatonin needs to be moderated (not taken over long periods of time) and you have to be careful with valerian root also, but there are natural herbal remedies that could help your sleep issues... Getting an uninterrupted eight hour spell of sleep is terribly rare for me also, given that I wake up multiple times throughout the night, often after each sleep cycle, which means every ninety minutes or so. I used to have a terrible time getting to sleep, and/or going back to sleep after awaking in the middle of the night, but that has not been a problem for a few years now. Back then I would bathe before bed and also in the middle of the night when I awoke, because if I did not have a bath, even at three in the morning, chances were I would be laying there for an hour or more before falling back to sleep. A bath is much faster than that, and I would be back in bed and asleep again in less than 30 minutes.

We produce less melatonin the older we get, so a melatonin supplement is a help. otherwise when trying to sleep roll your eye balls up as if trying to see up with your eyes closed, always works for me.

Well, what can I say?

I DEFINITELY would have lost a bet regarding how many years Rip Van Winkle slept, but, upon examination, you are correct, he only slept 20 years. I've been joking about taking a 40 year nap for years.

Who knew?

Not me, apparently...lol.

I have had some chamomile tea in the past, but the last time was many years ago. With the exceptions of decaf espresso and hot chocolate (I only have a sip or two of the latter because I've basically cut all caffeine out of my life, and I start feeling the urge to climb up buildings after more than two sips), I really don't like hot liquids...even though I'm often in hot water myself...lol.

I did try melanin ONCE, approximately two years ago, and, even then, I deliberately only took 1/2 of the prescribed amount. Although I'm not a health nut (while still being nuts in general...lol), I really don't put any sort of "drugs" in my body. When I took the melanin, it really freaked my body out because, again, I never really put anything like that in my body. I have put my own foot in my mouth several times (including here...lol), but I'm normally pretty careful about what I ingest.

A hot bath would be WONDERFUL (that used to be my primary place of prayer for years), but I only have a shower where I'm presently living, so that's out. I've literally tossed the idea around in my head (a lot of empty space there...lol) lately of getting a hotel room just to be able to relax and pray in a hot tub. However, I can't remember where I put my life vest and rubber duckie (lol), so I've put that idea on hold for a bit (don't mind me...I'm just an idiot...lol).

Anyhow....I was pretty exhausted at the wake that I attended a couple of days ago. Good thing that I didn't fall asleep there or someone might have thrown me in a casket and buried me alive...lol.

Alrighty then. I sometimes revert to idiocy when I'm tired, so I'd better get out of here before saying something stupid that I'll regret later.

I did just awake from about a 10 minute nap. Not much, but I feel a little better.

My naps are sometimes two or three hours long LOL. Well, hmmm, I wonder if even having a nice hot shower would help with your sleep issues? They (um, whoever "they" are) often say do not make the water too hot, but I don't listen to them :giggle: Oh! There are also essential oils you could use. Lavender is touted as having properties that help one relax which is essential for sleep. You being a man, you may not want to smell of lavender, but you do not have to put it on your person, as inhaling the fragrance may itself be enough. If you wanted to put it on your person to prolong your exposure to it, you could mix it with other essential oils like cedar or even frankincense to give a deeper less floral tone to the scent on your body :D I like mixing essential oils :)

I actually love the smell of lavender (second only to cinnamon), and I used to put lavender bubble bath or crystals in the tub sometimes. Well, now that everyone thinks that I'm a pansy, I'll be making travelling arrangements to Siberia after this post is complete (lol). I sometimes light lavender incense as well.

I tried using frankincense once (not really, I'm just being an idiot), but wise men kept showing up on my front lawn bearing gifts of gold and myrrh (lol), and my landlord got angry. Especially, when the sheep kept on eating his grass.

Well, now that I've spread my daily dose of idiocy here, I think that I will actually enjoy a nice, hot shower.

Later...
