no, a woman can not be a bishop of the church yet a woman can speak at a pulpit and used in the gifts of the Holy Spirit under the covering of her husband and Pastor. You are so much about women shutting up in a church setting that you forget the Holy Spirit
has been poured out on WOMEN and they will prophesy as the word of God says which is speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the Pastor and elders will judge it according to the word of God which is all Biblical in context to 1cor chapter 12 -14
I Disagree With Your Statement In Bold Red Above, A Woman Is To Remian Silent In The Church, God Is Not The Author Of Confusion

Silence, Subjection, Obedience

(It Is A Shame For Women To Speak In The Church)

1 Timothy 2:11-14KJV
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

1 Corinthians 14:33-35KJV
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Let's look at this peculiarity of
1Cor14:35, KJV
And IF they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home...

Are we to conclude that 'they', whether generally or of any particular group of 'them,' cannot learn anything unless 'they' ask their husbands?

Whether I love my wife or not has absolutely nothing to do with the (Fact) women are to remain silent in the church, let alone take the pulpit in a church (Fact)
Has it ever occurred to you that your refusal to learn how to use brackets properly makes you come across as stubborn, ignorant, and unteachable?

Has it ever occurred to you that repeating the same verses ad nauseam makes you come across as incapable of actual discussion?

Has it ever occurred to you that using bold-face type for large portions of your posts comes across as yelling?

Probably not, which is why you persist in such folly.

Preach the forgiveness of sin show folks that God's way is better, get them to repent.
Christian doctrine 101 SAYS....For a man to want to be forgiven of his sin....he must first realize that he is a sinner and needs to be saved. It is then up to the Holy Spirit to convict that man of his sin and draw him to Christ.

When I first began studying the Bible, it very quickly became apparent to me that I was in deep trouble. I was under wrath, so to speak. I didn't understand that because all I've ever been taught in church and Sunday school is that I could just "invite Jesus into my heart and he would save me." Boom. Done. Nothing else required. Free willism doctrine is pernicious.

Without studying the Old Testament and only hearing free will doctrine, I never understood anything, not even "Christian doctrine 101." I never thought sin mattered. I thought sin was just put away and I could do whatever I wanted.

I was so scared and discouraged, I stopped reading. I didn't want to read anymore. I felt hopeless. I felt there was no hope, that I lost the race at the start gate. I looked at what happened to King Saul and I was horrified.

It's taken years of study to finally come to some understanding that there is now hope. That I picked up the Bible again and continue to study is only by the grace of God. I certainly didn't do it of my own choice. It was by my choice that I stopped. I had no hope and I stopped. I had no intention of picking it up again.

receiving the Holy Spirit when we are saved is not the same as being baptized in Him, nor are all churches or all christians filled daily with Him ... you only have to read Paul's letters to see that, never mind what we witness with our own eyes and hear with our own ears.

When Phillip preached to the Samaritans they turned to the Lord, they were baptized ... but the Holy Ghost had not fallen upon them.
YES it is my friend. The moment we accept Christ we receive the filling of the Holy Spirit!

1 Corth. 12"13...........
"For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit".

Ephesians 1>13 is even more specific about the exact moment we receive the Holy Spirit:
"In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit."

How can that be so hard to understand?????????

Now if you will take the time to read and study Acts 8 you will see that the CONTEXT is UNITY!

The presence of Peter and John kept the early church unified.

My friend, Evmur..........Remember, there was great animosity between Jews and Samaritans. If the church in Samaria had begun on its own, with no connection to the “Jewish” church, the church in Jerusalem would never have accepted it.

The Samaritans were known historically as corruptors of Judaism. So God made sure that Peter and John, apostles and Jews from Jerusalem, were present to witness the gift of the Spirit given to the Samaritans. God’s message: the church in Samaria was no heretical start-up. The Samaritans were part of the same church that had been started in Jerusalem, and they were filled with the same Spirit. Peter and John were eyewitnesses. Their testimony was clear: what happened in Samaria was not a separate religious movement. In this way, God prevented the early church from immediately dividing into different sects.

The Lord took pains to ensure the unity of the early church. Jesus had commanded the gospel to be preached in Samaria. Philip the evangelist obeyed that command, and God blessed. Whatever animosity existed between the Jews and the Samaritans was overcome by the unity of the Spirit. The church today should continue to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”.

I am blessed to be able to help your Bible understanding. Please do not hesitate to ask if there are other questions you would like to be addressed.

Good thoughts my friend and YES you are correct. We, when lost are under the judgment of God. We are lost, doomed and destined for hell because we are unforgiven sinners.

But GOD, who is rich in mercy and grace reached down and saved us in spit of ourselves and then we a re SAVED Sinners!

The bottom line truth is that we can preach the love and forgiveness of God all day long......but if the judgment and FEAR of the Lord is not also taught side by side then we really do not know WHY we accepted Christ.

It is one thing to say and believe "I AM SAVED". It is another thing all together to then say....."I KNOW WHY I AM SAVED".

I fully agree that when a person believes and is saved, they are sealed by the Holy Spirit as Ephesians 1:13 explains, and God the Holy Spirit is free to teach, convict, work, as He wills

As many want to falsely teach their are further Baptisms or whatever with the Holy Spirit "Wrong"

To be disobedient, brazen and presumptuous is a shame. That's why I would be very offended if anyone ever asked me to become a pastor in their church. (Not that anyone would)

I hear many say they are answering a "calling" to preach. If I should ever hear a "calling" for that, I would rely on the gift of discerning of spirits. God does not call women to disobey his commandments. But I think we all know who does.

Very simple questions, why do you evade a simple answer :giggle:

1. Do you believe practicing homosexuals should be allowed membership in denominational churches?

2. Do you believe practicing homosexuals should be allowed positions of leadership within the church, teachers, deacons, pastors?
