I hear so many Christians say that the New Earth will be this earth restored. But I don't. I believe it is going to be totally new, never before seen or used. The Greek word here for "new" (used for both the new heaven and the new earth) is καινός .

καινός : "as respects form; recently made, fresh, recent, unused, unworn"

How some can definitively say that the New Earth and Heaven are just going to be refurbished. Is that like God? To use a place such as this earth that has been totally defiled by sin to live in for eternity? I just don't see it. I know I would much rather prefer a brand new unused earth to live in with God knowing what has happened here.

The definition, unless I am interpreting it wrong, says the new earth will be "unused, unworn". This earth has been used and it is worn.

So those who think the New earth will be this earth, just reformed or refurbished, please let me know why you think so.

How is it when it says a new heaven and a new earth people feel aome need to go to a Greek translation? Does not new heaven and new earth mean just that.

If we buy a new pair of shoes, it is not the old pair refurbished now, is it?

“Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭102:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

my opinion is that it will be like the flood

“And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s the same earth but it was destroyed and then rose up again . I believe that’s what the future events hold cleansing by fire and utter destruction of all that is in the earth , and then Christ will return from heaven to this earth d bring the kingdom with him restoring things to the beginning

I think that like Christ was crucified and raised up in glory so the earth will be also just as also man must die once and then be raised again to
Life .

I personally feel as if it’s all going to take the form of a death and resurrection of creation but just my opinion and a couple scriptures as to why mainly this one

“all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:”

I think currently heaven and earth are separated but in the beginning and e end they will Be one unified creation again

It'll be an entirely new earth and heaven because the old ones will be destroyed. Only righteousness will exist in the new earth and heaven.

2 Peter 3:10-13
10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

It is the same Creation renewed and redeemed. God uses the same process of salvation for fallen Creation that He uses for us fallen sinners: He doesn't destroy us and create something completely new (though we ARE a NEW CREATION in Christ): He redeems us, indwells us, purifies us, and reforms us into His Image.

Our Father begins His work in each of us the instant we are saved by the Blood of His Only Begotten Son
He is perfecting each of us to be completed on His Day and not before, and none of this perfecting is our own work or works.

In effect we are made new, while the old man is fading away. Praise be to our Heavenly Father, amen.

Luke 5:37-38
Matthew 9:17
Mark 2:22
Luke 5:37-38
Matthew 9:17
Mark 2:22
“Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish:

but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:14, 17‬ ‭

you can’t fill someone with new doctrine , if they are full of the old it’s why the Pharisees couldn’t accept the New Testament and become Jesus disciples he wasn’t teaching the same things but new things they were full of the Old Testament and couldn’t take both

"Is that like God?"
Ever heard the term "born again"? Taking what was used and defiled by sin and making it new? God felt it was good enough for His living creations, the ones He died for.
I mean He felt renewing and recreating was good enough that He allowed Himself to be tortured and murdered to ensure it. But you find that unworthy?

New is new.
Old is old.
First is first.
Last is last.
I am just simple enough to believe what the Bible says.

the Kingdom of God (New Earth) already is here -- Kingdom of Light

Literal Standard Version
.... but know this, that the Kingdom of God has come near to you;

/\

it is near.

NET Bible
.... The kingdom of God has come.'

/\
|

it comes close at times.

Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

/\
|

through the Spirit we come more alive ... are entering the Kingdom. when we live after the world (this world) -- we are dying (not entering).

Matthew 18:4
Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

/\
|

the Kingdom already exists, already is here.

Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

/\

the Kingdom is belonging to those who become more innocent and open-minded.
