But they're so much easier to train than humans, and they give love so much more readily.

Yep getting a dog was a good idea. Getting a very stressed dog that doesn't play well with others but that I felt the need to rescue from the shelter. Yeah that sounds like a classic female relationship blunder of getting into a relationship out of compassion or pity instead of value (though watching dog do well and make improvements is rewarding).

And then it will be a bunch against one for bringing a pet into the family.... children love pets.

Also, though you can try a lot. You aren't completely in control of when you have children, especially the making of them.

False. They never grow up. They never learn things. They have no minds. They seek your attention all the time, while treating you like utter trash. Its much like a bad wife who only cares about herself and treats her husband as her slave. Except a dog well, you know what its like from the very first time. Plain masochism.

I was a dog man but I've been trending towards cats as of late.
