do not believe that we are utterly unable to keep the 10 commandments
The Apostle Jude was inspired to warn us of this very deception. "Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ" (Jude 3–4).

Notice that Jude warns of false teachers using the idea of "grace" as a vehicle for "licentiousness\—license to disobey the very laws of God!

Let us understand that no one can ever earn salvation—it is God's gift! The true grace of God leads to the gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8–10; Romans 6:23). Those willing to obey God (Acts 5:29, 32) and who are under true grace will be God's "workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works" (Ephesians 2:10). God's grace does not eliminate the need for obedience and keeping God's commandments. The Apostle Paul warned that one could "receive the grace of God in vain" (2 Corinthians 6:1). And while the Apostle Peter exhorted Christians to "rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 1:13), he continues with the expectation that we do so "as obedient children" (v. 14; cf. v. 2).

The 10 Commandments List in Exodus 20:2-17

1.“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2.“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

3.“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

4.“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

5.“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.

6.“You shall not murder.

7.“You shall not commit adultery.

8.“You shall not steal.

9.“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10.“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

no, I haven't even interacted with anyone, just spending time with God, keeping everyday Holy and following His command to make desiples of all nations, I've kept the Sabbath and kept God first and posted and prayed pertaining to my neighbors as I love them and don't want to see them be deceived.

Matthew 10:17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do so that I may inherit eternal life?” 18 But Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not give false testimony, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus showed love to him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But he was deeply dismayed by these words, and he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.

I never said I was justified through obeying the law, I abide in Christ, live by faith and am the righteousness of God through Christ who lives His life in me. And yes I don't have to sell anything to follow Him as money is not my God. I do not love money or the world as I am not of this world.

Well that's amazing. Even Paul admitted to sinning as a new man in Christ. Are you in your glorified body and therefore without the "old man" he wrote about?

Also, how do you make disciples without interacting with anyone?

key word LATELY I do live and care for my 91 year old mother and through many conversations I'm happy to report she is now Born again. but also through the internet, on various platforms, all I can do is drop seeds the Holy Sprit will do the rest. It is the 10 commandments I follow I am not under the 613 laws the Jews keep, Okay, maybe I don't love my enemies but I pray for patience, I never said I was perfect, but what I'm trying to say is that with the Holy Spirit inside you it is much easier not to hate or lustor covet and keep from lying. Once I got saved the Holy Spirit convicted me of some dirty movies and things and I got rid of them and never looked back, I don't lust which is probably easier for a woman than a man. I think Paul had the highest standards striving for perfection and keeping the whole law minus the sacrificial laws, when we are just called to follow Him and abide in Him. We are saved through grace through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He doesn't require me to go stand on a street corner and preach on a soap box or continue to put myself in harms way after getting stoned and beaten and jailed. Although I do not deny Christ in any situation, I am not called to preach, my gift is discernment, not healing or prophecy etc. I am not in a glorified body but I am a new creature in Christ the old sin and thoughts don't even come to mind, as you grow in the Lord reading His word you strive to become more like Him. Like the old saying WWJD what would Jesus do. I am having a hard time with downright hostile "Christians" who refuse to be convicted in any way. It's difficult to care for those who have been given over to a debased mind, and I don't pray for the govt. leaders. But I'm not getting convicted about it either. I find it easy to abide in Christ, really. Remember He said my yoke is easy my burden is light. I'm watching and praying to be counted to be worthy to escape the wrath that is to come. The whole point of this post is to point people to examin themselves, do the have the Holy Spirit? The fruits of the spirit are, “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” Those who are in Christ are distinguished from unbelievers in that they have been gifted with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to bear fruit. If you do not have any of these traits then I do not believe you had a sincere conversion, and with Holy Spirit, you are not born of the Spirit and therefore not born again. The Holy Spirit guides us in all truth, comforts us and helps us follow the will of God. And His work in us continues till we get our glorified bodies.

if you are not jewish, then you were never commanded to keep the jewish Sabbath.

if one wants to, that is fine, but it has nothing to do with salvation through faith in Christ.

if you are telling other they have to keep it, you should stop doing so, it is not Biblically accurate.

1 John 3: 8He who commits sin is from Satan, because Satan is a sinner from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this reason: To destroy the works of Satan. 9No one who is begotten from God commits sin, because his seed is in him and he is not able to sin because he has been begotten from God.

I do not envy the degrees of flack your faith walk that you share here shall receive.

It would appear yours is not Biblically accurate.
You think the law of God is done away?

It is not. Jesus did not come to do away with his law. He came to fulfill it. In fulfilling the law he was the example of perfect rightness, righteousness. In believing in him we are made righteous.

This does not mean the law of God no longer exists. Otherwise Jesus would not have reiterated the ten commandments. And then said, if we love him we shall keep them.

Those ten commands of God pertain to what fulfilled the law through Christ; Love
Love of God. Love of others.

The Sabbath was made by God for us. God did not rescind his gift that let's one day be kept holy for us in this fallen world.

The Apostles honored the Sabbath as Yeshua taught them to do, even after he returned to Heaven.

When we are all one in Christ, the charge, that's only for the Jews, doesn't apply.

Jesus never rescinded his gift of Sabbath rest.

Matthew 5:19 should warn those who claim God's law is void.

you mentioned the Fruits of the Sprit.

Paul stated that " against these there is no Law."

well, Shabbat keeping was not listed as a Fruit of the Sprit.

simple fact- gentiles were and are not under the Law, and are under no command to keep the Sabbath.

This from personal encounters with a type. There are also those people who insist the ten commandments no longer matter, and insist they are still sinners who sin, because they think now that they claim to know Christ they are saved no matter what.

The ten commandments are not the Laws of Moses. They are God's laws. Moses was merely charged to deliver them to God's chosen people.
They are laws that govern moral conduct.

When I read in the news of so called Christians committing horrific offenses, I think of that fact.
Those must be one's who claim God's moral commands don't apply.
Thou shalt not murder, rob, and so on.

Thank you! I needed that. I am in wonder at how difficult of a time I'm having, I'm just tring to say that The Holy Spirit helps us to keep the law, and be an example that it IS possible with God. I don't know how long I will try to reach the (brethren or lost?) as I find my Joy being stolen and my patience being tried and my self control being tested! So true what you said above God Bless you!

Thank you. May God also bless you.

I've been a member of Christian forum sites for awhile here and there.

One thing I've both witnessed and learned is, there will always be those who strive to steal your joy. Challenging our nature in Christ to see if we can keep his commands ourselves when we speak of and defend their application in today's world.

Never ever let them succeed. When you encounter that persona, recognize it and its source. And, as Yeshua taught, kick the dust from your feet and keep it moving.

God and his word doesn't reach them. What chance have we who are in Christ?
