I love the KJV and NKJV and the NIV pre 1984 and the NASB, and the NLT :)

You mean like The Latin Vulgate;)

Just kidding. You mean earlier English translations right? Like The Geneva Bible, Bishop's Bible, Wycliffe or Tyndale?

The King James Bible was meant to take all the previous English translations and out of many make ONE GOOD ONE to which no one could take exception. Read "The Translators to the Reader". IOW it was a vast improvement over all previous English translations.

Daniel Wallace is a blatant liar. Below is a good example of Wallace MISLEADING the public. He is denying that modern versions have thousands of OMISSIONS which are from the Received Text (which represents the majority of Greek manuscripts). Instead he lies by telling us that verses were added to the KJV! He also calls the MOST CORRUPT manuscripts "the oldest and most reliable". A huge lie which began with Westcott & Hort.

"10. Modern translations have removed words and verses from the Bible. Most biblical scholars—both conservative and liberal—would say instead that the KJV added words and verses, rather than that the modern ones have removed such. And this is in part because the oldest and most reliable manuscripts lack the extra verses that are found in the KJV." [Note: the bolded words are called a "myth" in this article, which is full of baloney and misleading statements https://danielbwallace.com/2012/10/08/fifteen-myths-about-bible-translation/]

If you wish to know the truth which totally refutes Wallace, kindly read and study The Revision Revised* by Dean John William Burgon (an outstanding 19th century conservative textual scholar in his own right). I could quote extensively from this book but you should do your own research.

Thank you. I'll look into it. That would be hugely disappointing if Dr. Wallace is incredible. :( Of course the next question would be, why? Why would such an accredited professor go that route?

Thank you again.

BEWARE OF DANIEL WALLACE. He is well-versed in misleading the public.
Unmitigated SLANDER. Either back it up with evidence or retract it.

I read your post after this one. It is not evidence; it is your own opinion.

What "texts" are you talking about? Do you mean the text of the KJV as compared to the text of previous translations?

I am not up to a KJV only discussion. As I understand it KJV Greek text was put together with, by a handful of manuscripts almost contemporary with whats his name. That Modern Greek critical text is compiled using thousands of manuscripts --- some only a few hundred years of the original manuscripts..

"Dr. Wallace, a fourth-generation Californian, is a member of the Society of New Testament Studies, the Institute for Biblical Research, the Society of Biblical Literature, the American Society of Papyrologists, and the Evangelical Theological Society (of which he was president in 2016). He has been a consultant for several Bible translations. He has written, edited, or contributed to more than three dozen books, and has published articles in New Testament Studies, Novum Testamentum, Biblica, Westminster Theological Journal, Bulletin of Biblical Review, the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society, and several other peer-reviewed journals. His Exegetical Syntax of the New Testament is the standard intermediate Greek grammar and has been translated into more than a half-dozen languages. He is the executive director of the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts (csntm.org), an institute whose initial purpose is to preserve Scripture by taking digital photographs of all known Greek New Testament manuscripts. In the process CSNTM staff have discovered over ninety New Testament manuscripts throughout the world. He and his wife, Pati, have four sons, three daughters-in-law, three granddaughters, one grandson, and one Labrador. " https://www.dts.edu/employee/daniel-wallace/
