Depending on the translation, the NKJV wrote the following:

Job 19:17 NKJV - "My breath is offensive to my wife, And I am repulsive to the children of my own body."

Verse 18 gives a blanket statement of children in general, that young children despise him.

But here is the thing . . . if Jobs's children went to heaven, and there is no reason to think that they did not, once in Heaven I can assure you that they were given full understanding. They realized that our bodies are only vessels that house the real "us" . . . we are spirits while in this body.

2 Corinthians 5:6 NKJV - "So [we are] always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord."

What happens to our bodies, regardless of how much we suffer, our job is to see past its "weakness" and frailty compared to our Spiritual body. I promise that those initial children of Job had full perspective as soon as they felt the Raw, Almighty Power of God.

We will be ok, folks, in our moment of death. Do not be afraid of dying, but rather, be afraid of how we handle it. Our job is to Endure the struggles of this weak world of flesh, but with a good attitude. Everyone endures life battles, and most people do it with bitterness and complaining, but True Christians must do their best to Endure with positive, healthy attitudes that include the understanding and view of the Lord's Eternal Plan. We are to know that suffering is pretty much a guarantee if we are to be called Children of God.

Regarding end times:

Revelation 2:10 NKJV - "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw [some] of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."

The general principle of suffering and how we are to look at the body is not specific to verse 10 above but throughout all time.

Our studies regarding Job have been incredibly helpful for me. I cannot thank all of you enough for your contributions and for allowing me to express my thoughts and opinions.

I was on my way to court today, fearing terribly what the outcome might be . . . and how that outcome will impact my future. Facing remarkable and outlandish claims, I began to think of Job). Like Job, I realized that no matter what happens in this world, I will be taken care of. What happened to Job is so much more extreme than what will happen to me on this planet; thus, I was encouraged by that. But more, and with my Eternal perspective, I found encouragement in knowing that eventually, all things will be better than before, even if it means waiting for Heaven.

What Peter wrote about in the Scripture below is precisely what happened to Job.

1 Peter 5:10 NLT – “In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”

Job was not only restored but received even more than what he had before. And though Job lost his family, in his Eternal perspective, I’m sure that he realized that he would see his children again, those whom for which he offered sacrifices.

I told myself the same things, that though I may never see my elderly father again, the one I love (because of a False Restraining Order applied by the government), I would certainly see him again in Heaven. Therefore, though I have no comfort here on earth, my comfort awaits me in Heaven.

So, my awareness of how we are [not] this body, but that we are only here for a short, temporary time, and though my father is struggling mightily without me, I know that I will see him again. I know it for a fact.

Job didn’t know that he would be restored. He was not given this knowledge, thus the fact that he clung to his faith and refused to curse the Lord though his wife suggested it many times, Job did not do it. And neither will I.

Incredibly, and for the first time in my life, I was inspired by Job . . . and because of this thread, I will never view him the same.

So, thank all of you again for your willingness to share my thoughts and ideas. That chance helped me this morning. Thank you!

The correct verse is God is "A SPIRIT", not "is spirit". So you think spirit beings are not persons? Satan is a spirit being and also a person. God the Father is a Spirit and also a divine person.
Yes, God was the person of Jesus. God is holy spirit first.

You are still very confused about God.
GOD THE FATHER IS NEITHER THE SON NOR THE HOLY SPIRIT
GOD THE SON IS NEITHER THE FATHER NOR THE HOLY SPIRIT
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NEITHER THE FATHER NOR THE SON

I hear you. Scripture is so clear on this, that if we think that someone is confused about Biblical matters, we are to be kind and gentle, something that I have seriously taken to heart and have begun to implement here. If we aren't kind as we talk to others about the Bible we do at least two things:

1. We offend the person who we're talking to, and if they're truly lost, they may remain lost. We just can't have that. For if they are blinded, they cannot help it.
2. We give the world ample reason to look at us as hypocrites, which the world does, and thus we become hated (and we are).

Bible tells us that when we all work together and show the world that we are one in Spirit, this is reflective of God's Power. And this is why I have been imploring us to speak to each other the way that Paul has commanded below:

2 Timothy 2:25 NLT - "Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth."

Can we do this? Can we communicate as though we actually care about each other . . . that we love each other? And even if we are enemies, we are clearly commanded to Love our enemies; to feed them.

Matthew 5:43-48 NLT - 43 "You have heard the law that says, 'Love your neighbor' and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect."

King David demonstrated this kind of Holy Love for his enemies. The story of David and Shimei is absolutely amazing, reminding us of why Jesus is the Son of David. That story begins at 2nd Samuel 16:5. I love how David accepts and tolerates the abuse he took, and this is an example of what happened to his Son, Jesus. For when Jesus was reviled, he did not revile in return. So, part of being "perfect" as described above, is being kind to those who we think are struggling, if not outright offensive.

It's a matter of maturity I think. Or lack thereof.
I think those who are genuinely in Christ realize there are those who are not when they're participating in forums like this.
There's someone who frequents as many boards as they can and is like that. They're ignorant, rude, sarcastic, hate filled. Yet, when they encounter someone that doesn't comport with their false exegesis, that person refers to that genuine Christian who is trying to assist their understanding as a , so called Christian.
I think that person should be eternally grateful they're tolerated as much as they are without being banned.

What isn't of concern for that type transparent poser, in my view, is that there are people who visit sites like this to see what being a Christian looks like.
For whatever reason they may not be able to meet with communities of believers off the net.

I think when they happen on hateful, sarcastic, ignorant, rude, hate filled people who pretend to defend the bible just to attack Christians, those people are turned away from the faith. Because after all, what would an example like that do but show them we're no better than the hateful, ignorant, rude, hate filled people in the world they live in?

Seriously. If "you" , impersonal you, have to use sarcasm and condemning accusatory personal attack language to defend "your" understanding of the bible, you prove first and foremost you have none!

I'm not confused in the least. I'm aware the Trinity doctrine is man made and entered the scriptures hundreds of years after Christ returned to heaven.

God was Jesus. God is the holy spirit. One! Our God is one! Not three. And, as he said, beside him there is no Savior.
One! Not three persons.

What seems to confuse some is that word, person. They imagine because God created humans in his image and likeness, that God must be a person like we are.
When we're told the perishable, that which makes us persons, does not inherit the imperishable. Heaven.

We are told, when we die the flesh, that made us appear as persons, returns to the dust from which it sprang. And the soul to God who gave it.
God is spirit. A spirit. The holy spirit!
Because he appeared as Jesus, the word made flesh, doesn't make him obligated to conform to the personification of man. Everything that exists , as God tells us, is of and from him.

Trees! God isn't a tree. God created tree's of and from himself.
God created Jesus, what a catch word that is, 'created' , for some. Only because they're unaware of Genesis language.
God formed himself, created the word to become flesh in the womb of Mary. That doesn't obligate God to be a person because Jesus wasn't solely a person. He was divine! He was both God and flesh. And he proved it time and again. Especially when he resurrected from death.

Nowhere in scripture does God say he is a person. Nowhere does God say, "I am three". It's us that has that hangup.
Those who believe they worship the person that is god are worshiping a demigod. Which is a false god.

And we're wrong.

Hello Icedaisy!

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean in your post. Here is an example of "three." First, though, who is it that performs Spiritual Circumcision? Compare the three verses below:

Deuteronomy 30:6 KJV - "And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live."

Romans 2:29 NLT - "No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by God's Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people."

Colossians 2:11 NLT - "When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature."

First God, then the Holy Spirit, and then Christ . . . the Word of God clearly states that all three are responsible for Spiritual Circumcision. Have you ever seen these Scriptures that support the Trinity? I couldn't believe it when I discovered it a couple of months ago.

« kind and gentle » : That’s a good way ! Once again we have a good example in the Book of Job, Job’s associates say they want to help Job but Job and God don’t think they do it : on the contrary ! Thus medidating again and again about Job’s case may help us do it the right way and not forget it !

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean in your post.
...

First God, then the Holy Spirit, and then Christ . . .

three ways of looking at It ? God, the Father... Yeshua (Man + Holy Spirit)... the Spirit... ? people can get very hung up on doctrines and words. but if God is Spirit He/It is not hung up on anything and has no Religion. He is free from human ideas yet/ and through His word tries in ways (watered down) to explain to humans whose thinking is very far below His... how exactly to find Him... and what He is maybe.

Your thoughts:

Do you feel that when Christians speak with active members of the Jewish faith, that we bother them as we reference their written Word? My Lawyer is Jewish, and while I adore this guy, I don't think that he feels the same way about me. I don't think he particularly appreciates it when I have said that I Love the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I do!

Thanks for your possible answers. This is new for me!
On one site where I was a Christian member before joining here, there was once a thread asking what a preferred Name for God was that we had... and I said El Shaddai. A Jewish member was offended and told me to get my own God... to which I responded, there is only One True God, and he ought to be ashamed for telling anyone to get a different one. So, yes, I would say some are bothered by our grafting in. But isn't that part of God's plan?

I am not sure if I posted this panel in your thread already. I began to scan
through the pages to see if I had when I came across the above post of yours :)

The greek word « όνομα » means name, first name and reputation

In Hebrew:

name n

שֵׁם [ʃem] m
[ʃem] m

1.
name

2.

designation, name, term (name etc.)

3.

reputation, repute

Apparently there is no difference of meaning in the two languages
Job comes from the Hebrew name אִיּוֹב ('Iyyov), which means "persecuted, hated".
A large majority of the 2,800 personal names found in the Hebrew Bible (shared among about 15,000 persons) convey a specific meaning.

@Ogom - Hey pal, I'm sorry the way this "came off." This sounded rude, but I didn't intend for it to be. I'm under some heavy pressure and didn't realize I sounded like a total putz. I am very, very sorry. Please forgive me.
