The fist death we all eventually experience because of Adam.
After we're resurrected, many will experience the SECOND death.
I agree! Man was created to live forever in the flesh, because of original sin and thereby spiritual death, physical death became mandatory.

But through faith in Christ, He has made a way for man to return to God's original plan for man, to live in the flesh forever. This is accomplished through the resurrection of life.

Body and soul? Heart, mind sould and the body as a sacrifice. So many uses and contexts for each, yet they are understood in context. It is confusing to stray away from what is understood.

I might add, there is a resurrection of death for those who have failed to place their faith in Jesus Christ! This is the "second death" spiritual death, eternal separation from God.

Exactly, this is what Paul said that all creation yearns and groans for, the complete redemption of man and all of creation to the former way God originally created it.

Gen 3:19- In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken; you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

DEATH, spelled out by God himself! The same death Jesus uncounted!

That the immortality of the soul doctrine is something foreign to the Scriptures is also stated by the Jewish Encyclopedia, which says concerning it:

"The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is...nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture...The belief in the immortality of the soul came to the Jews from contact with Greek thought and chiefly through the philosophy of Plato its principle exponent, who was led to it through Orphic and Eleusinian mysteries in which Babylonian and Egyptian views were strangely blended" (The Jewish Encyclopedia, article, "Immortality of the Soul", emphasis added).

In the Hebrew scriptures, the word nephesh [soul] refers to both animals and people. In the book of Genesis, it is used first to describe the animals that God created before man. In this context nephesh has been traditionally translated as ‘living creature’. In the second chapter of Genesis, God creates mankind, and he is said to become a nephesh, a living creature, sometimes translated into the English word ‘soul’. In addition to the word nephesh being used for all living creatures, it is also used to refer to a corpse or a dead body. The scriptures talk about a ‘dead nephesh’ which would be contradictory to the idea of an immortal nephesh or soul.

The Hebrew words neshemah [soul] and ruach [spirit] have been translated as spirit, wind or breath. Biblically speaking both animals and people receive the gift of breath from God to have life and become a nephesh or living creature. The neshemah or ruach is not something that the living person or animal is or consists of but the life-giving force that is outside of them given them to God to sustain life. As a result, the breath is said to return to its giver, God, upon death. This also reinforces the Biblical understanding that death is a return to the dust from which we came.

In writing and preaching about the immortal soul doctrine, the early church fathers used as their source, not Scripture, but Plato. “And it is also to be observed that none of such early Christian writers ever sought for support for this doctrine by primary appeal to Scripture, but had recourse instead to arguments similar to those used by Plato” (Froom, 954).

Tertullian openly referenced Plato in his writings, basing his support of the immortality of the soul, not on Scripture, but on the pagan Greek philosopher. “For some things are known even by nature: the immortality of the soul, for instance, is held by many; the knowledge of our God is possessed by all. I may use, therefore, the opinion of a Plato, when he declares, ‘Every soul is immortal’ ” (Tertullian, On the Resurrection of the Flesh, 7308).

Athenagoras also used as his foundation for the immortal soul doctrine, not Scripture, but Plato. Athenagoras’ theology “is strongly tinged with Platonism” (Encyclopedia Britannica, s.v. “Athenagoras,” 11th ed., 831). Believing that pagan Greek teachings and Christianity were compatible, he skillfully wove the two together. “Athenagoras frequently combined the beliefs of the Greek poets and philosophers, particularly Plato, with the doctrines of Christianity” (Encyclopedia Americana, s.v. “Athenagoras” (2001), Vol. 2, 605).

Let's here from Jesus:

John 5:28- Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
29- and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

Rev 20:11- Then I saw a great white throne and him who sat upon it; from his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
12- And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, by what they had done.
13 And the sea gave up the dead in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead in them, and all were judged by what they had done.

(Yes- Jesus did speak about those LIVING a dead, but in a different sense.)

Matthew 27:50-53

50And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

51Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
