Hi everyone,

The Bible covers many topics, I believe even all vital topics. But in my Bible versions the word "motivation" is absent and this is quite vital! In depression, people can lose the motivation to work, shower, to clean their living place, even to get out of bed... Sometimes to eat and to live...

Do you know of any verse that talks about the subject of being motivated ? Promises or just statements.

Feel free to share any verse it will be greatly appreciated.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans 12:12

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Isaiah 40:31

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Romans 8:24-25

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

This scripture in Joshua has always been an encouragement and motivation for me. Of course this was written under law, so if you look at it in grace through Christ it means the same for us today.

Joshua 1:8-9

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Life can slap us around but if we keep the faith in God's Word, He has promised that He will be with us no matter what comes our way.

This promise from God brings blessing even in the time of trouble.

You know what motivates me? Rewards. Specifically, rewards from God.

Whoever comes to god must believe he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

I use that verse a lot... it says and means a lot, in so few words. Idk if you can overuse it.

the salvation of an everlasting soul is motivation . If we believe in such things we want to be motivated to avoid the second death and embrace the promises of Jesus Christ for life everlasting

to a mortal this should be motivating beyond belief

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
‭‭John‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭

as mankind we all share a bondage to death we all understand one day we are going to die . The good news is that no we aren’t going to die we’re going to live when we part our mortal body.

our motivations all lie on the other side of death whether we live or die being the stakes

Psa 27:13 I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.

Psa 34:15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry.
Psa 34:16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
Psa 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psa 34:18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.

Ecc 3:9 What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils?
Ecc 3:10 I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.
Ecc 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.
Ecc 3:12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one's lifetime;
Ecc 3:13 moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor—it is the gift of God.

1Co 15:54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.
1Co 15:55 "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"
1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;
1Co 15:57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

Php 3:12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
Php 3:13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
Php 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Lam 3:21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
Lam 3:22 The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.
Lam 3:23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Lam 3:24 "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."
Lam 3:25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.

Heb 6:17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,
Heb 6:18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.
Heb 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,

Rev 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
Rev 21:2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
Rev 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."

Is not our desire to please our Maker the same as motivation? Is not turning from loving the world to loving God enough?

Phil 4v13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." [NKJV]

"I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]." [AMP]

With Psalm 18v1-3, 27v1...

Psalms 9:9 -- The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.

John 13:34-35-- A new commandment I give you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.

Sorry my quotes do not work, I used the New King James Version.
