What is faith? Is it just believing in Jesus as Savior and God or is faith more than that? Does true faith require living one's life according to Jesus' teachings? So, what is faith. Does believing in the Gospel mean that you believe that it's true or does believing in the Gospel mean that you live your life by the teachings of the Gospel? So, what is faith, what is belief?
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but receive everlasting life." - John 3:16
He pierced my heart with this and I knew it was true. He saved me.
let this pierce your heart

His promise of no condemnation and eternal Life

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

freedom from sins dominion

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32, 34, 36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

new birth in the spirit

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or the witnesses of this truth

John

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.

He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”
‭‭2 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul

“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Peter

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. ….But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:22-23, 25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

James

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Like Moses law would be nothing without Moses word before he shed e blood the gospel has no transformative power unless we allow the word of God into our faith where it can change us at the core we need the word to change our truth thinking

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

to change our knowledge and minds how we think we have to let the gospel Jesus taught into our faith . Knowing he died formoir sins and rose up again is good but when we try to use it to seperate his words out of salvation it leaves us ignorant of Gods Will and leaves our minds in a state of darkness and sin

We are saved by Grace through faith.

We aren't saved by trying to believe words written in a book.

We are saved by believing that the Lord Jesus Christ has the ABILITY to save us from our condition and calling on Him for His Help.

After we are saved, we begin to understand the words written in the book. We believe these words because we have experienced them.

To try and say that people MUST believe before God acts is ignorant, in my opinion. Where did your belief come from in the first place?

John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

This way, scripture is absolutely True. Salvation is a gift. Grace is a gift. Faith is a gift. Everything needful for Salvation is a Gift of God. And not from the work of people.
We have access into this grace wherein we stand by faith.

And therefore grace, which is the gift of God, is given to us by means of faith; which is our response to the word of God; and wholly dependent on us.

I first believed John 3:16 in '73. I met my Father in '94. I was freed from curses, experienced deliverance from demons, learned how to deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow Yeshua, was baptized with a tongue of fire, gifted with tongues, proclamation, and prophetic utterance, and learned much other good disciple stuff while at a 5-day Christian retreat nearly 22 years ago.
Isolated for years, my best friend is the Lord. I spend my days seeking Him, listening to Him, enjoying His presence, ministering to Him in song, reading the word from Genesis to Revelation, reaching out to others online, and basically just being loved by Him and loving Him back, which includes helping others in any way I can, knowing that in the end, I will again stand on that street in the New Jerusalem, looking into His eyes...for eternity! Hallelujah!

Apparently you must have missed it but I gave you my testimony of how I got saved so let me tell you again. I came to him with a meek and broken heart like a small child.
To go into more detail I was broken and in tears I longed to know what it is like to be loved and to feel loved I was alone in my room at night I looked at my life and everything I owned and it was trash to me I honestly didn't care if I lived or died and I cried out to him begging him to come into my heart I even tried to bargain with him offering him all I owned and everything I was if he would only come into my heart and show me what it is like to be loved I went to bed that night thinking myself in my tears he won't answer me I wouldn't answer me as soon as I woke up I was filled with life, not energy but life itself and I am someone who requires a lot of caffiene to get going in the morning but I leaped out of bed and began dancing in joy in happy tears thanking him over and over again.

From then on it was a love story with him and I I treasured every second I spent with him and when I read the word it was satisfying to my soul as if reading food being fed for the first time. I told you before he and I share a very intimate and very close relationship.
Jesus is my precious beloved my hearts yearning he makes me bleed love for him longing to hold him in my arms with desperate longing to bury my face in his arms and express with words that this tongue cannot speak my affection and love for him.

I answered you now you tell me who is he to you and what makes you think you are saved? The ball is in your court
Tome, every part of God that I finally understand and accept adds to my being. I am an empty worthless shell, then more and more of God enters my being and I become worthwhile through Him.

I'm more like a child now than perhaps ever...He calls me son-child when I'm hurting. He's my Daddy.

I have always been a child at heart but when I came to him oh how the child in me grew, I sometimes imagine myself in heaven with him as a small child laughing and playing with him in the deep evergreen field filled with fireflies at night. He peirces my heart in a way that just makes the child me fall for him

The scriptures say that we are saved by grace through faith

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I have heard people say they are saved by grace, which is putting the cart before the horse.

Grace is the gift we get for believing the gospel.

It has to be "through faith" first.

Faith in what ?

Having believed the gospel I am saved and sealed.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

The moment a sinner hears and believes Paul's gospel they are saved and sealed with the holy Spirit.

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

God has made it that simple.
Grace is the work for salvation faith is the belief in the one who did it. They are both needed.

What does being saved mean?
Precious friend, Pureness, being saved means "being delivered:

"...God Which raiseth the dead: Who Delivered us from so great a death,
and Doth Deliver: in Whom we trust that HE Will Yet Deliver us;"

(2 Corinthians 1:9c-10)

Expanded "study" Of THREE Tenses salvation (deliverance):

Precious friend(s), is not the Solution to Confusion recognizing God's Differences Between "HIS Relationship With us," And "our fellowship with HIM!"?

God's Will, Today, Under HIS PURE GRACE? Very Simply showing
THREE Tenses Of HIS ETERNAL Salvation:

"...God Which raiseth the dead: Who Delivered us from so great a death,
and Doth Deliver: in Whom we trust that HE Will Yet Deliver us;"

(2 Corinthians 1:9c-10)

Past Tense:
(1) God Establishes HIS Eternal Relationship With those who humbly:
believe, 100% trust, place Total faith, In The LORD JESUS CHRIST, HIS
Death {Precious BLOOD}, Burial, And HIS Resurrection, According To The
Scriptures! (
1 Corinthians 15:3-4; cp Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3-5 KJB!)

"GRACE Through faith" In The Merits Of HIS
Precious And
ALL-Sufficient BLOOD Results:

All sins Forgiven, HIS Eternal Life, And, Peace With God!
{This Is
Eternal DELIVERANCE From the PENALTY of sin!}
Justification And Spiritual Sanctification {"Set Apart" By God!},
First, And, THEN:

Present Tense:
(2) The believer Should do "good works" {Which will Never
Equal CHRIST's
TOTAL Payment For the above PENALTY of sin!},
for Which we Are Created In CHRIST JESUS, to perform for HIM,
having "been Called into
fellowship With HIM!" Amen?:

We "work out Our Own salvation" {This Should Be a
lifetime of Deliverance From the POWER of sin!}
Personal {set yourSELF apart} Sanctification:

(2A) "Access The GRACE, Wherein ye stand!..." (Romans 5:2)

1) Daily submission: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, By the Mercies
of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice..." (Romans 12:1-2)

2) "Walk In The Spirit!" (Romans 8:1, 4; Galatians 5:16, 25)
"And walk in love, as Christ Also Hath Loved us, and Hath Given HIMSELF For us
An Offering And A SACRIFICE To God for a sweetsmelling savour." (Ephesians 5:2)

(2B) Fulfil, by faith, ALL Of His Law, In "ONE Word: LOVE your neighbor
as yourself!" (
Galatians 5:6; Galatians 5:14; Romans 13:8-10 KJB!)

(2C) Study HIS Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, to show
yourself
Approved Unto God! (2 Timothy 2:15 KJB!)

Eternal Results: reward {or loss} (1 Corinthians 3:8-15 KJB!),
ruling and reigning With CHRIST, Which Will Finally Be At
The Judgment Day:

Future Tense:
(3) CHRIST's GLORIFICATION of All "members" Of HIS Body!!
{This Is
Eternal DELIVERANCE From the PRESENCE of sin!}
Amen? Hallelujah! Praise HIS Holy Name Forevermore!!!
----------------------------------
Conclusion:

BIG Differences Between God's Relationship And our fellowship!
Correct?

Precious friend(s):
Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, and Edified!

(2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 3:9 =
Grace/Mystery fellowship, today?)

You are very welcome. Yes, "saved people still sin" as we "still have the fleshly
nature" which "still Needs to Be Changed." Thus, we are exhorted:

"work out Our Own salvation" {This Should Be a
lifetime of Deliverance From the POWER of sin!}
Personal {set yourSELF apart} Sanctification:

Thanks for asking...

I like the idea of the word saved. the premise is to rescued from something for us our pitiful state of rebellion and sin a fallen state bbut being saved means it is not by our own doing it is by the work of someone else. when one knows they are saved they feel secure and filled with new hope they live life in a different way because they remember the danger and sense of hopelessness one who simply believes they are saved but are still in the snares of danger work to be saved and keep their security they must put in constant effort still believing they are saved but can fall into the snare of danger again never suspecting they were in danger to begin with still.

when you hear the gospel with your ears you can believe you are saved but little do you know you are still in the snares of the devil but when your heart sings the gospel and you live with a simple but profound bond with God you are more than saved you are the testimony of salvation and all the freedom that comes with it.
Not freedom to do as we please but the freedom of being saved the ease of simply loving God and enjoying being loved.

There is a beauty to simply being his child not concerning with if you follow this gospel or that one or if that doctrine is truth while this one isn't. Which in turn such a child like love with him will not simply teach you all truths but will write them on your heart
