The water saved Noah and his family from the wicked people of the world that was deluged in wiping them all out.
What an extremely STRANGE way of looking at 1 Pet 3:21.

Noah wasn't being threatened by the wicked people. In fact, all they were doing was laughing at him and his boat.

Could you find a verse that actually indicates that Noah was being saved from wicked people by the flood? If you believe that, you should have some evidence from the Bible, not just your own assumptions, presumptions, opinions, and speculations.

Don'tcha think?

You have your opinion; here is scripture.

1Pe 3:20, Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Yes we are saved by grace through faith according to scripture. Ephesians 2:8-9 does not specifically say that water is not a part of that.
Here's a few translations of 1 Pet 3:20

New International Version
to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,

New Living Translation
those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.

English Standard Version
because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

Berean Study Bible
who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water.

Berean Literal Bible
at one time having disobeyed, when the longsuffering of God was waiting in the days of Noah, of the ark being prepared, in which a few--that is, eight souls--were saved through water,

New King James Version
who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

New American Standard Bible
who once were disobedient when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.

NASB 1995
who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.

NASB 1977
who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.

Christian Standard Bible
who in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared. In it a few—that is, eight people —were saved through water.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
who in the past were disobedient, when God patiently waited in the days of Noah while an ark was being prepared. In it a few—that is, eight people—were saved through water.

American Standard Version
that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:

English Revised Version
which aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water:

Literal Standard Version
who sometime [ago] disobeyed when once the long-suffering of God waited, in [the] days of Noah—an ark being prepared—in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water,

NET Bible

Young's Literal Translation
who sometime disbelieved, when once the long-suffering of God did wait, in days of Noah -- an ark being preparing -- in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water;

The Greek word wrongly translated "by" is di':
dia: through, on account of, because of
Original Word: διά
Part of Speech: Preposition
Transliteration: dia
Phonetic Spelling: (dee-ah')
Definition: through, on account of, because of
Usage: (a) gen: through, throughout, by the instrumentality of, (b) acc: through, on account of, by reason of, for the sake of, because of.

The lexicon NEVER uses the word "by".

I recommend exchanging your kjv for a better translation.

Seems you are trying really hard to avoid the truth here.

The FACT that Eph 2:8,9 doesn't mention water baptism is because it ISN'T required for salvation. Really simple. Really.

The Bible does that with several different subjects: sanctification, inheritance, death, etc.
Give some examples of this.
Would it really matter? You aren't accepting truth now. Why would you accept truth on other subject?

Besides, that would be called "hijacking" the thread.

And I don't want to get sidetracked.

Not following your point. The point in Matt 7:21-23 is that this crowd expected to get into the kingdom on the basis of what THEY DID for Jesus. There was NO mention of their having faith in Him for what He did FOR THEM.

This is proven by what Jesus told them. "Depart from Me. I NEVER KNEW you." They never believed.
Jesus specifically says to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

He is correct. If a person follows all of God's commandments he will be born again and receive eternal salvation.
What is it you disagree with of that proclamation?

It has been stated over and over again BELIEF IN THE DEITY OF JESUS AND HIS SHEDDING OF BLOOD GIVES A BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE AND ETERNAL LIFE!

Not water baptism or otherwise billions of people have been saved by baptism process by many religions and cults!

When are you going to get tired of being repeatedly REFUTED??

Once again, the pattern seen with Cornelius is EXACTLY THE SAME as what Paul told the Galatians in 3:2 and 5. The Spirit is received on the basis of FAITH, NOT NOT NOT NOT water baptism.

Acts 10 was fairly close in time to the crucifixion. Possibly just a few years after it. Galatians was written about 49-55 AD.

So quit telling me that Cornelius was some kind of exception. All you are doing is embarrassing yourself.

Cornelius' experience is EXACTLY THE SAME as found in Gal 3:2,5. Read your Bible.
I will bring it back to the reality that there is a conditional promise given in Acts 2:38-39, to as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Compare Romans 8:30.

And you are right. Because the phrase "when ONLY baptism was available" is a bogus claim. You haven't proven that, and I have refuted that.

Well, I guess one would have to actually read my posts to know that I have.

I went through what Paul preached from the "Scriptures", which can only be the OT, since the NT hadn't been written yet.

But you are free to ignore, reject, or whatever else you want to do to avoid the truth.
I have read your posts. No refutation of what was said, that I was able to see.

Actually, sanctification is a life long process. It would begin with baptism. But that's not the end or completion of it.

1 Cor 6:11 - And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Thess 5:23,24
23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

In the first verse, "you were washed" equals salvation. The next part is about positional sanctification, which follows salvation.

In the next 2 verses, v23 speaks of spiritual growth, or what is called "experiential sanctification". Notice the subjunctive mood in "may your whole spirit, soul and body...". That shows that experiential sanctification is potential, not a guarantee.

Here is a verse on experiential sanctification:

1 peter 2:2 - Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation

Absolutely AMEN.
So many do not believe in positional and progressive sanctification!

Gen 6:5, And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Gen 6:6, And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Gen 6:11, The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Gen 6:12, And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Gen 6:13, And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

You think that Noah was not in danger from those who were violent on the earth?

Think again.

Baptism is the point of the entire Bible. If a person would only choose to read the entire body of work in a timeline, chronological order, and read Colossians 2:9-15 before each daily reading, the ONLY conclusion that a person could come to would be that True baptism [is] Spiritual Circumcision, the Circumcision of Christ.

But, because when pastors use the word circumcision in their churches and are embarrassed by it, the Gospel of Jesus Christ shall forever remain a hidden mystery, just as it was to the Sadducees, Pharisees, and teachers of the law. For even the physical healings of and through Jesus were a reflection of this Spiritual Circumcision. After physical healing in John chapter nine, Jesus tells us what "they" are about.

SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS:
John 9:35-41 NLT - "When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36 The man answered, "Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him." 37 "You have seen him," Jesus said, "and he is speaking to you!" 38 "Yes, Lord, I believe!" the man said. And he worshiped Jesus. 39 Then Jesus told him, "I entered this world to render judgment--to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind." 40 Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, "Are you saying we're blind?" 41 "If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But you remain guilty because you claim you can see."

No one received the healing of Christ unless and until their unregenerate hearts had been cleansed, or Circumcised, by Christ.

So many do not believe in positional and progressive sanctification!
Positional sanctification is none other than justification; and that is what it is always called in holy scripture.

I think it is a travesty that certain people take verses on sanctification and make them mean justification.

In doing so they strip the Bible of its power to convict for sanctification.

The language is archaic. Didn't THOU knowest that?

You use it well...so what is wrong with it?
In the whole Bible don't you know the three things we must know and ...only? Apparently not. So allow me to enlighten you;

1 Repentance
2Baptism
3 Live a righteous life according to God's commandments.

What problem do you have understanding that presented in the OT/KJV 1680, etc?
After all a child of ten...it has been tested...can.

Or is it just that you want to use and follow a new age religion bible which is not accurate and does not represent God's word?

There are attempts to teach narratives to scripture which is just wrong. You should see that.

Be tolerant.....The need to focus on new age religion's intrusion upon God'word grows daily. join the crusade to maintain relevancy of the Bible to complete Christian living.

But, If need be...don't read it. Then you can deal with God.
