I have had some stalkers in my life and it has not been nice, so im very used to talk directly to them that i dont want to go out with them or something else and when they dont understand i stop puting attention to them.
 
I met a guy online and we arranged to meet for drinks, a few days before the meeting he called me & said he was in my area and could we go for a coffee. I was freaked out by this and cancelled our date. He called me, texted me morning, noon and night. I tried being nice, tried being nasty he kept calling texting & sending me picture messages of him at work. I decided to ignore him I stopped taking his calls then I had to take voicemail off in the end I changed my mobile number. It was really bizarre because we never met.

Um...it wasn't a US Congressman, was it? We've had a bit of a problem with that lately...
 
You could always buy a Tazer, that will discourage stalking everytime.

I'm running out of the number of times I can tell him I'm washing my hair (and it's starting to fall out a bit as it is! Or was that me yanking it out and yelling, "PLEASE!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!"

It makes me want to not talk to him at all... let alone spend time with him... and heavens no!! when it comes to the thought of dating him. In fact, I just got a message from right now before this post, saying, "If you have a day off next week, I was wondering..."

I had a friend who was just like this and I eventually had to tell him, "I wanted to remain friends but I can see that it only leaves you open for hope that it will be something more so I don't think we can even hang out together anymore. I just don't want to hurt you or lead you on." Then I just stopped being around him at all, stopped all contact--didn't return calls, etc. It didn't take him too long to get THAT message. (But I still felt bad, because it would have been nice to have continued being friends) I just knew he couldn't handle it that way and a good clean break was the only remedy.
 
Suzie, I'm with you on this. Sometimes putting your foot down is the only thing you can do.

One guy who stalked me was married with children. He was in one of my college classes and my late husband was away attending classes elsewhere for a few weeks (I was afraid he wouldn't finish his classes if I called him about it). The guy was sending flowers to my workplace, calling me on the phone crying and intoxicated asking me to go on a trip with him, and I will always believe that he was the one who tried to break into my home in the middle of the night. Finally, his wife figured it out, called me and we had a good talk. It was uncomfortable, but she understood and she got him to stop so that I didn't have to bring the police into it and take him away from his family. Sometimes things have to get very unpleasant, but you have to do what you have to do to protect yourself.
 
That must have been so scary!!! I'm SO glad nothing like that has ever happened to me.
 
I had a stalker more than a year ago at work, i was going to my home after work and he offered his car to take me to my home he said that he was going near where i live, so i accepted and i started to find him everyday but after some days i felt uncomfortable because he was weird so i stoped, so he started to send me a lot of messages and call me everyday and on weekends and each time that i denied to invite him to my home he was very angry but because we worked in the same place i had to be nice with him and some ppl started to see me and push me to go out with him , i ignored his phone calls and messages but he was very angry with me, and sent me bad messages and told me very angry that he was expecting my answer and asked what was wrong with me, so i avoided him at work and when he was near i usually go to other office but it was very uncomfortable and for all the ppl i was a bad person because i rejected him, but after some days we found out that this guy was married with 2 children so ppl stoped looking me as the guilty one, and this guy still works with me :( but almost dont see him thank to God.
