Was it the apple that Adam and Eve ate that caused the fall of man or something else?
The only named fruit forbidden in scripture is the grape, to one taking the Nazarite vow to separate himself for the Lord. I have a whole study on how the grape is the forbidden fruit in the garden.

Your study’s conclusion is wrong.

According to sources, the forbidden fruit did not become identified as an apple until around the 12th century.

"The apple as Forbidden Fruit seems to have appeared in western Europe at least by the 12th century. Some researchers suggest that the apple got a bad rap from an unfortunate pun: the Latin malus means both “apple” and “evil,” which may have given early Christians ideas."
- National Geographic

So the forbidden fruit from the TOKOGAE probably wasn't anything like the kind of fruit we normally eat. For example, eating fruit doesn't give people knowledge of things. So there's a good chance that it is a metaphor, but I know many people prefer this to be literal.

The Bible never says it was an apple.

God told Adam and Eve they could eat of every tree's fruit that had seed in it, and apples have seeds in them. This may be a clue that the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil did not have seed in it.

I do not see the restriction of there needing to be seeds in what they eat from the trees.

And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree
in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”

"And to every beast of the earth and every bird of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth—
everything that has the breath of life in it—I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Are there fruit trees that produce fruit without seeds? Just curious....

Well, I think that it was a banana.

I mean, bananas don't have seeds, you've all descended from Adam, and you're all bananas.

Mystery solved!!!

:p

P.S.

Of course, I'm joking...or am I?

Part of this belief that it was an apple also has to do with what we commonly call an "Adam's apple" or that visible part on a man which looks like a piece of an apple got caught in his throat:

Contrary to popular belief, "Adam's apples" are NOT only found in men. They're simply more prominent in men, but women have them, too.

https://www.scienceabc.com/humans/why-do-men-have-an-adams-apple-but-women-dont.html

Apparently, Steve Jobs and friends used this commonly-held belief that it was an apple while choosing the logo for their Apple computers:

Notice the apple with a bite taken out of it.

Were Jobs and friends acknowledging that computers might similarly lead to the acquiring of "forbidden fruit" or the knowledge of evil?

Could be.

Interesting fact.

The first Apple computer debuted at a retail price of $666.66.

It was definitely not an apple, nor any other fruit which is known today.

So, are you suggesting that "Babylon the great", as it is called in the book of Revelation, pertains to "Jerusalem which now is"?

If you are, then I need to tell you that I've taught the same for 30 something years.

How, though, do you compare "her" to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Don't be shy.

Just speak your mind.
do you have some bible proof to show jerusalem is babylon?

Was it the apple that Adam and Eve ate that caused the fall of man or something else?
they partook of corrupted , conflicting knowledge good and evil without understanding good and evil , this brought sin , sin brought death

the corrupted knowledge became an internal Conflict for man “ do I do what’s good and right ? Or do I do what the flesh desires me to do ?

“And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the “knowledge of “ good and evil is what changed everything it was forbidden for man to know good and evil at this time we weren’t ready for it, we didn’t understand sin as we do now.

“but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if you notice thier minds we’re changed it’s actually why they ate the fruit this is before they ate the fruit

“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

thiers no thought of evil yet nudity has no lust attatched to it man isnt tempted by nudity because they don’t know evil

“And the serpent said unto the woman,
Ye shall not surely die
: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

( watch how her thinking and perception changes )

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

( now the effect of knowledge and shame )

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

( now man is hiding from God in fear of death because he’s naked )

And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:4-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Before the knowledge of evil became part of thier mind and heart sin wasn’t appealing to them , the moment thier heart and mind became corrupt , thier nudity became an instant shame now it evokes sin and temptation lust and pleasure of the flesh ect

thier inner mind has been changed by the knowledge of good and evil. I’m not sure the fruit type is given To us but what made the transgression matter was the changing of mans inner understanding and nature now it’s conflicted it’s what a sinner is someone conflicted inwardly between doing good or evil

“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

An apple? Not necessarily.

An apple is just a common depiction, much like a depiction of Jesus wearing a robe that is red on the inside and purple on the outside.

An apple is consistent with "a fruit that grows on a tree" but is not the only valid interpretation.

Yes, I have plenty of Biblical proof of the same, but that's not the topic of this thread.

I've been contemplating starting a blog on that topic (I've actually toyed with the idea of writing a book on that topic), but I'm kind of caught up in too many things at once at the moment. Perhaps some time in the not-too-distant future.

We nee to think of "fruit" in a metaphoric way not a literal way. It's code for something difficult to talk about.

Depends on the type of banana. Bananas do have seeds, but they are not really
required for propagation, so have largely been bred out for commercial purposes.
