The law of Moses was given in stone. Stone is lasting and true, but it is without love. It could be obeyed by the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law, or with love. It was of the earth, even the blessings obedience brought were fleshly blessing of such as good crops. It was weak.

The Lord changed the law from being in stone to being in our hearts. We are told in Jeremiah 31:33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,”declares the Lord. I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” This applies to all people who accept Christ. The law is no longer in stone, but the law is in our hearts.

The law is now changed from a weak law to a law with the spirit of love, a powerful law.

Jesus gave us the base of the true law of the Lord. "Jesus answered him," Love God, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. " (Matthew 22:37)

John 1:17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

Perfectly said. I would like to write as clearly as you. Thank you!

Nobody here obeys the Law of Moses. Any Law of Moses preachers know what "OBSOLETE" means?

Hebrews 8:13 (NKJV)
13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete.

The Law of Moses is still in effect for those who CHOOSE to live by that Law. And, God have mercy on those who do, for salvaiton is not possible for those who choose to live by the Law, for no man can keep ALL THE LAWS.

That is why the New Covenant was needed. Under the New Covenant, Grace, we have the Law of Faith!

That's great.

The law was spiritual written in words on stone, to obtain the spiritual worth [the rewards] the words had to be believed and obeyed.

We have received the Spirit ... the desired end of the law.

Stone is lasting and true
The first tablets were destroyed by human hands.

It could be obeyed by the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law
The letter of the law and the spirit of the law aren't necessarily mutually exclusive in all cases.

I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” This applies to all people who accept Christ
By this, we can see this refers to the house of Israel that accepts Christ, inclusive of any Christian through Christ.

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." - Jer 31:33 KJV

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:" - Heb 8:10 KJV

"This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;" - Heb 10:16 KJV

amen

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s also contrary what Moses taught and what Jesus taught. Moses said “ eye for an eye “ Jesus said “ no don’t do that but instead turn the other cheek “ Moses said “ if you foresee at yourself keep your oath “ Jesus said “ no don’t make any oaths “

Moses said “ if you marry and aren’t happy with the person wrote a divorcement bill send her away and you both may remarry “

Jesus said “ there’s no valid reason to seperate a marriage but adultery and fornication of one of the two in the marriage and if they remarry after divorce thier commitimg adultery “

it’s not possible to place the two covenant words together they teach different things to obey a different law all together.

we can’t live like Jesus said and also like Moses said it’s contrary

we can’t live eye for an eye taking revenge like Moses taught and also live by turnin a way from transgression not taking revenge like Jesus taught.

we can’t honor Jesus law of marriage me also Moses law of marriage thier different ect

To be a Christian and then go backwards to the mosaic law meant for those who didn’t know Christ is a subversion like trying to move forward but putting the shifter in reverse and pressing the gas

The law had a particular time of rule and for a purpose

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

once man knows sin by the law they understand they have also sinned and are guilty and sentenced to death.

at this point they need to die fornthier sins to fulfill the requirement of the law That says “ if you sin you must die “

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This fuflills the law of sin and death for the sinner so they can belong to the New Testament

“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? ….Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:1, 4‬ ‭

the New Testament is contrary from this

“that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”

it’s this

“and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:47‬ ‭

one law was to impute sin and make all guilty without excuse , the other is given to teach repentance and give remission of those imputed sins.

They are contrary for different purposes one teaches man what sin is and that they also are guilty of sin , the other takes that person and teaches them about forgiveness and remission of sins through faith in Christ and the gift of everlasting life

The law once engraved in stone is now engraved on the hearts of all who accept Jesus Yeshua. This would include all the law which contains mercy. Ask our Lord, this he taught to the hypocrites who blindly applied laws without considering mercy.

Nobody here obeys the Law of Moses. Any Law of Moses preachers know what "OBSOLETE" means?

Hebrews 8:13 (NKJV)
13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete.
“For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect,

but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7:18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum:

We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,

When I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers In the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; Because they continued not in my covenant, And I regarded them not, saith the Lord.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭8:1-2, 6-9‬ ‭

there’s an ending or “ fulfillment “ of one so that the other is established from the ground up beginning with Jesus and the gospel and not Moses and the law as a continuation of it but rather a conclusion of one and establishment of a new

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:31-32‬ ‭

it’s a seperate covenant spoken by Jesus, from what Moses had spoken beforehand to the Israelites in the desert.

the old was infact only a pre conceived pattern established in the nation of israel , And their trials and victories and failures also with the lord , of what Jesus would accomplish for all the world delivering man from slavery and bondage of sin and death into life everlasting and freedom

Obsolete isnt the right thought of we take it alone in a vaccume it makes the law seem not good or not right , useless to us ect that’s not the case it’s just not our law we can learn a lot from it about Jesus and the gospel though it’s useful
But isnt our authority like it was thiers

but “dissanuled “or “fulfilled “, “accomplished to the full “ is what happened we all have sinned according to what’s in the law , so we need to get baptized and die to the law according to its word of sin and death

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?…. knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3, 6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Another effect of this “ dying with Christ “ is when a person died under the law for Thier sin. the law ends for the dead person it has nothing else to say To say to the dead sinner it’s fuflilled by thier sin they died.

“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:1, 4, 6‬ ‭

We now serve God in the new way Jesus offered us in the gospel not by Moses letter but by the spirit

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”
‭‭John‬ ‭4:23-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

To know the spirit and truth covenant we have to hear the mediators word

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:

the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭

“For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

I have given them thy word; …Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:8, 14, 17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We're not under any kind of law except the law of Christ, which isn't law but grace.

If y'all who want to be under law, great, go for it; but I truly feel sorry for you. I'm very happy to be free from law. I wish you could know that freedom.

I don't understand you. It seems to me that the law expresses the Lord's ways. It has nothing to do with our salvation, for it is only Christ that applies to. But to have faith in Christ, as scripture tells us to do, we must repent of sin. It is what Christ tells us to do and we believe if we believe Christ. If we refuse to hear what we are to repent of, how could we repent? What, exactly, is it you are free from? Surely not free from Christ?

The law of Moses was given in stone.
The Ten Commandments were written on stone tablets -- not once but twice. Then the tablets of the Law were preserved within the Ark of the Covenant. That is how important. they were.

But "the Law of Moses" extends from Exodus to Deuteronomy, and in fact Genesis is also included in the Torah (the Law of Moses). According to Jewish rabbi Maimonides (Ramban) there are 613 laws in the Law of Moses. But when Paul speaks of "the Law" he generally refers to the Ten Commandments, which are incorporated into the Law of Christ (the Law of Love).

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the Law.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.
(Rom 13:8-10)

"Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" is within the Law of Moses, and actually sums up the last six commandments. "Thou shalt love the LORD thy God" is also within the Law of Moses, and sums up the first four commandments. So the Law of Christ sums up the Ten Commandments.

But the Law of Moses had many more commandments, most of which are now null and void. All commandments pertaining to the tabernacle/temple, the Levitical priesthood, the many sacrifices, the feasts, festivals, and holy days, the dietary laws, etc. are all finished. The epistle to the Hebrews tells us that all these were shadows, and that the reality is Christ and His one great sacrifice for sins forever.

HEBREWS 9: THE PERFECT SACRIFICE OF CHRIST NULLIFIES THE LAW OF MOSES
8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the Mediator of the New Testament [Covenant], that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first Testament [Covenant], they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

If you can't understand me you still don't understand God's grace; you're too hung up on the law.
Your understanding if far from my understanding. The law has been put in my heart and mind, scripture tells me this is so. Didn't God do this for you? If the law was in your heart and mind you would have a very difficult time eliminating all law from your life. Seems to me it is the way to freedom, there is no burden in the way of Christ, or bondage. Sin is a burden that binds.

The ways of the world binds us and takes all our time. Schools, beauty parlor, gyms, addictions; it keeps our nose to the grind stone. Christ does not.

It‘s the “saved to get to heaven“ crowd that is still obsessed with the law of Moses. They are also stuck on being merely “sinners saved by grace”. They have no understanding of what it means to be dead to sin and to being a new creation.

So you have set yourself up as a judge of what you decide others think! Not based on scripture but on this miraculous clairvoyance you state you possess.

“It seems to me that the law expresses the Lord's ways.”

Jesus expresses Gods ways himself

the law of Moses

Thou shalt not commit adultery.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭20:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

when the gospel of Jesus Christ the way of the lord , meets the law

“And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; …they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

….So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, ( wisest ) even unto the last:

and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: ( remission of sins ) go, and sin no more. ( repentance )

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:3-5, 7-13‬ ‭

the law

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the gospel

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭KJV‬

the new covenant and old through Moses

“Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament;

( the law )

which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

(the gospel )

Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:12-16‬ ‭

“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭

hearing the law

“Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭5:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

message of the gospel

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

prophecy in the law

“according to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭18:16, 18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Fulfillment

“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

witness

“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:22-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We need to let Moses law go , and embrace the law Christ preached and taught in the gospel. We let Moses go because he teaches opposite things “ eye for an eye “ v “turn the cheek “ “ don’t kill or else “ v dont hate others or else “

Demand the laws repayment v forgive a debt to honor mercy of Christ on his cross ? He suffered and died for me but also for the person who’s sinned against me. So I can just let it all go in prayer between ones self and the lord and have peace.

A lot is different for man now we receive his spirit , it’s why we don’t need a law anymore for unspiritual people. We’re born again so we need a new word to grow in or end up at the same place condemned for our sins.

If you can't understand me you still don't understand God's grace; you're too hung up on the law.
Remember the words of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ Son of GOD ;
"Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven". (Matthew 5:17-20)

and;
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them. For this is the Law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate. For wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. "(Matthew 7:12-23)

""For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1. John 5:3-4)"gg
