I have heard and read many say that the beast was NERO, but Nero did not rule for 42 months, he ruled for over a decade. So I don't believe it is Nero.

I have heard some say its the papacy, the Pope, but then it would have to somehow account for the fact that there are two beasts, first one is wounded, and then the second one makes everyone worship the first beast.

I am not making this thread to tell everyone what is what, it is my humble request we would all shoot ideas and consider each perspective.

I would also like to hear what does the phrases "From the Sea" and "From the earth" mean, why are these beasts from different places? I take the sea to be symbolic of multitude of peoples as elsewhere in revelation?

Bonus question: What is the number of a man, 666, or do we just not know it yet?
Daniel 7:1-8,12 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.

2Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.

3And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

Daniel had a dream of 4 kingdoms that were different from each other which are the 4 ways of people which all 4 kingdoms went by these 4 ways but 1 of those ways were their chief mode of operation where the other 3 ways were a minor mode of operation.

4The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

The first kingdom is Babylon which represents the occult, human religion, and the kingdom of man.

It had eagle's wings which means they had the revelation of God which king Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the God of Israel as the greatest of all the gods and proclaimed throughout his kingdom that if anybody said anything against God that they would be cut in pieces and their house made a dunghill and his kingdom flourished.

His son took the throne and knew what his father believed but took the vessels out of the temple of the LORD and drank out of them praising false gods and the kingdom was stripped from them and given to the Medes and Persians.

The eagle's wings were plucked which they lost the revelation of God and then became known as the kingdom of man.

5And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

The second kingdom is Medo-Persia which represents human cruelty in war which it raised itself up on one side because the Persian influence was more dominant in that union.

It had 3 ribs in its mouth which probably represents 3 nations they conquered that became in league with them giving them more power and control.

6After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

The third kingdom is Greece which represent human wisdom which had 4 wings of a fowl which could mean they advanced more in modern medicine, science, philosophy, and things like that, and had 4 heads which when Alexander the Great died his kingdom was split in to 4 sections and a general ruled each section.

7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron
teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

The fourth beast is the Roman Empire which represents pushing for power, territory, world domination.

They were different from the other 3 kingdoms because they were the most determined to conquer other nations and gain power and control which is why they are represented as iron.

The 10 horns is the world split in to 10 sections with a leader in each section which they shall devour the whole earth which will be the time when the nations come together as a one world government and the new age religion the bond between them that interprets all religions according to the occult and evolution which they believe they are still evolving to be spiritual and godlike.

8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The little horn, New Age Christ, antichrist, comes from the 10 horns which comes from the Roman Empire which the prince to come will come from the people who overthrew Jerusalem which is the Roman Empire.

The New Age Christ will be of the new age movement and will push the agenda of the new age movement until the world rebels against God.

12As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

Daniel 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

The first 3 beasts will never have physical dominion again but their lives were prolonged for a time and a season which means their ways are still on earth.

All 4 kingdoms ways are still on earth and they show up at the beast kingdom in Revelation.

The Roman Empire does not lose their dominion until Jesus puts the world down.

Revelation 13:1-2 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Revelation 18: 1-2 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

All 4 kingdoms ways are at the beast kingdom which is the kingdom of man in its entirety.

It is the chief mode of operation of the 10 horns, Roman Empire, which represents pushing for power, territory, world domination, which the Roman Empire has the physical dominion that influenced the world with the new age movement interpretation of religions, Mystery Babylon.

It is the chief mode of operation of the lion, Babylon, which is the occult, human religion, and the kingdom of man.

It is the chief mode of operation of the bear, Medo-Persia, which represents physical cruelty in war which they will war against everyone that opposes them to try to get them off the earth.

It is the chief mode of operation of the leopard, Greece, which represents human wisdom.

All 4 kingdoms chief mode of operation are at the beast kingdom with no minor role of operation which is the kingdom of man in its entirety.

The beast kingdom is known as Babylon which is in spirit which Babylon will never have physical dominion again but the beast kingdom is of the occult, human religion, the kingdom of man.

These 2 sentences are contradictory. The first claims that God planned (caused) that people fail. The second acknowledges that God is omniscient. So He didn't have to plan or cause their failure.

To claim that God causes anyone to fail or sin, etc, is to ascribe sin to God Himself. Let's not do that.

Your post suggested that God causes men to fail, as if against their own ability.
Read it again withunderstanding.

‭‭Daniel‬ ‭7:2-

if you add together what Daniel saw here coming up from the sea after the four winds blew on it you get seven heads and ten horns. In johns vision you see rising from the sea a beast with the same description

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion:

and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭13:1-3‬ ‭

the reason we can understand these two prophecies go together is this part John tells us that his beast is already on the sixth head of rule and five kingdoms have already fallen . We can see that johns vision comes in near the end of daniels

“And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen,

and one is,

and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭17:9-10‬

Beginning with daniels vision he explains that Babylon is the bf Rey head of the beast being nebucadnezzar the head of gold upon the idol in daniels vision

the. Daniel explains the media Persians would take power from Babylon , and Greece would take power from Persia

Babylon , Persia , Greece , ( which was divided into four kingdoms and prodived Rome which is the sixth head ruling in johns day the one “ that is now “ after the five has already fallen.

most likely Nero and Titus would be heads six and seven which dominated the entire ancient world like the fourth.beast in daniels vision and seventh head in johns

I would say a history review from the time of about 600 bc until about 300 ad will enlighten a lot of what’s been written there in those two visions of the worlds future

Rome eventually spread its corruption across the globe.

And where is that "vendetta" you opine about?

Rather, I made direct statements about your 2 sentences and explained WHY I believe they were contradictory.

Can you explain how they aren't?

I will respond, drawing out what I have posgted.
Our Fasther knew the Children of Issrael would disobey Him. Had they been perfect the nations would never have received the Godpel of Yeshuua.

Had our Father made them, Israel, perfect the first time, would this not be condemning all the rest of mankind? His mercy extends to all. Please rereadd the post which you have twisted to mean I am condemned for saying our Fasthe would make any man sin. He is the Creator and donly He knows the hearts of all men.

You well know that all are saved who call upon the name of Jesus Yeshua, so how ist you say I am condemned. God bless you always and may He grand you understanding, wisdom and His knowledge.

How is it that you charge me with saying that you are condemned?? Where did I do this?

Everyone who trusts only in the finished work of salvation on the cross by dying for everyone's sins will NOT be condemned

John 3:18 and 2 Thess 2:12 both say that it is those who "have not believed" or NEVER believed who will be condemned.

The first beast is the spirit of the kingdom. The second beast is the Man of Sin who creates an image of the first beast and sets it up where it ought not to stand. The dragon, Satan, then gives his power, the Three Lies, to the Man of Sin and the image of the beast

The first beast consists of an alliance of kings/kingdoms eventually controlled by the antichrist. (Dan. 7:8) Daniel chapter 7 gives detail about these kingdoms prior to their forming an alliance that will exist at the time of Jesus' second coming. (Rev. 13:1-2) Daniel 7:24 specially states that the beast's horns represent actual kings. Notice that another "king" (the antichrist) shall arise after subduing 3 kings. And for 3 1/2 years he shall speak words against God, etc. (Dan. 7:25)

Dan 7:24-26
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

The 2nd beast is the false prophet. The "spiritual" leader appears to be like a lamb (Christ like) but his words and actions are like a dragon. (satan) We see supposed Christian leaders condoning practices such as Interfaithism, same-sex marriage, abortion, etc. as if such are acceptable to God. This beast/"Christian" leader will perform miracles deceiving many, and will give the antichrist his stamp of approval, causing people to worship the first beast/antichrist who has the backing of his deceived alliance of kings. This false prophet is further depicted as the Whore of Babylon in Revelation 17. The whore (false prophet) rides upon the first beast, an upcoming global one world government led by the antichrist. An Internet search will reveal much concerning the Catholic Pope's stance on globalism. He is all for it. Upon study of Revelation chapter 17 there is little doubt that the Roman Catholic Church along with her illegitimate daughters is depicted as the Whore of Babylon.

Rev 13:11-13
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

The Man of Sin will not be a catholic nor Christian. Daniel indicates that the Man of Sin will not be from any religion that exists today as indicated by the verse that says he worships a god that his fathers' knew not. His false religion shall be something that is unique.

The scripture in Daniel pertains to the antichrist not the false prophet. Rev. 19:20 references punishment of the two entities that work together to deceive the nations.

The Man of Sin in the book of Daniel is the same as the one pop culture calls the Antichrist or the False Prophet. Fun fact, the word antichrist is actually only found in John's letters to define anyone that denies that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, was crucified, resurrected, and ascended to heaven to prepare his armies to come back and slaughter the Man of Sin and his armies.

The following scriptures reference two distinct individuals inspired by satan to deceive.

"And the beast (antichrist) was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone." Rev. 19:20

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." Rev 20:10

"And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet." Rev 16:13

Rev. 13 provides specifics regarding both the antichrist led global government and the false prophet. Rev. 17 and 18 details info. specific to the false prophet; the whore of Babylon.

The beast referenced here is the first beast in revelation 13 which is a spirit. It is the spirit of their kingdom, the same spirit described as the fourth beast of Daniel. The Man of Sin creates an idol in the image of this spirit. This idol then is given the power to speak. The dragon, who is Satan, gives his power, the Three Lies, which are the source of the demons, to the image of the beast, and to the Man of Sin that they might gather together to futilely fight Lord Jesus (and spoiler alert; they lose.)

As indicated in Daniel the forth beast is a king, no doubt influenced by satan, as all are according to the scripture. The following chapter 7 references pertain to the beast/antichrist. The false prophet is not mentioned. However, Rev. 13 details a distinction between the two. (Rev. 13:1-10 and 11:18)

"I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame." Dan 7:8 (Rev. 19:20)

"These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth." Dan 7:17

"And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Until the Ancient of days came,...Dan 7:20-22

The horns are the kings of that kingdom and the little horn which arises is that Man of Sin.

Daniel 7:23-26
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

Yes. The little horn is the Man of Sin, frequently referenced as the antichrist. However, my point is there is also a false prophet, commonly understood to be the Pope, who promotes the antichrist and his global political system.

Rev 13:11-14
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

The false prophet is the Man of Sin. The Man of Sin creates an idol in the image of the beast which is the spirit of the kingdom. He will not be the pope, nor will he be the catholics. The Man of Sin will not regard any gods, and he exalts a god that his fathers did not know, so it cannot be any religion that has existed so far in history.
