"We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ."

We who are in Christ are in communion with the Living God. The bread and wine remind us of this. It's by the covenant (between the Son and Father) and through the body (broken for our us) that we commune with God. We are "His flesh and His bones".

THAT is holy communion.
Then why didn't the New Testament Church observe communion as we know it?

Jesus' body was not broken.

I commune with God through prayer, not his body.

We are not his flesh and bones. He is a risen Savior and we are new creatures in Christ born again through his shed blood.

No sir. Read the passage.
Yes sir. I have read the passage hundreds of times and written a paper on the subject after consulting with many learned theologians on the subject who are far more qualified than you or I are. You are just trotting out the standard teaching on the subject which people in the church seem to accept without question instead of studying to show yourself approved by God (not man)

The Living God considers those in Christ to be holy. That's "holy communion". I was responding to this claim

Holy Communion is True Communion with the Real Body and Precious Blood of the Lamb of God. Simple. His Flesh is True Food and His Blood is True Drink. He who eats of His Flesh and drinks His Blood has Eternal Life and God will raise him up.

Sorry but this is a figment of your imagination. The Jews were FORBIDDEN to eat human flesh and drink human blood. That being the case, Jesus would not tell them to eat his flesh or drink his blood.

I dont know who your learned scholars are, what do ya want to do? Play Pokemon cards as to who's learned scholars are more learned?
So while I have studied with learned scholars, who have parsed out that text thoroughly over hundreds of years. But it really is a matter of simple reading comprehension.

The Lord’s Supper (bread and wine) is done in remembrance of the real thing: the blood of the covenant spilled for us and His body of which we become part.

You disagree Xavier because you have not studied the scriptures or the history of Judaism. In other words, what you claim is from ignorance.

They did, and did so every week, and by taking it "worthily" they receives healing every week. That is why they were told to seek an elder should they become ill during the week, between services where they would receive healing during communion.

Where does it say they took communion every week?

It sounds like you have a limited knowledge of church history and only believe what you read in scripture, there is a vast amount of church history that God has preserved for us.
Ask Holy Spirit to guide you in all truth, He always does.
The ministry I shared is the most biblical I have found and Holy Spirit will come and guide you just as Jesus promised in John 16.

John 21-25
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

You are indeed correct.

Note this article from;

https://www.rpcmatthews.org/article...n-the-frequency-of-communion-past-amp-present

"The earliest testimony we have concerning the practice of the church points to a weekly observance of the Eucharist. The Didache (ca. 50-150), for example, provides the following instructions about the observance of the Lord’s Supper. “On the Lord’s own day gather together and break bread and give thanks, having first confessed your sins so that your sacrifice may be pure.” In the writings of Justin Martyr (ca. 100-165), we see the same witness to weekly observance.

And on the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather togethe to one place and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits; then, when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray, and , as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each, and a participation of that over which thanks have been given, and to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons.

The evidence from Scripture and the writings of the early church fathers point to the regular, weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

Infrequent communion became the normal practice of the Roman Catholic Church later in the Middle Ages. The Fourth Lateran Council (1215) required that the faithful partake of the sacrament only once a year. In other words, frequent communion was the practice of the early church, and infrequent communion was the later Roman Catholic innovation. "

Yes, I guess having read over 60 books on church history I guess would make me somewhat limited in my knowledge. I will have to read at least another 60 books to have any credibility in talking about the subject. Plus having dedicated two years of my life full-time in study of the word of God at Bible College is probably insufficient so I will have to sign up for another two years. I don't know if they will do that if you have written a dissertation for a Ph.D.

Just as a matter of interest, how many books have you read about the history of the church and how many years have you spent at bible college studying the word of God and what subject matter was your Ph.D. in? I am interested to compare notes to see how you are far more authoritative on the subject than me. Especially as you give the impression that only what the Holy Spirit shows you is the truth.

As time ran out in my previous post I would like to add that I have been acquainted with the Holy Spirit for about 60 years so I always endeavor to seek his advice before commenting. maybe I need at least 120 years before it is authentic.

I have to admit I am a bit wary when someone bases their findings on "I" You will notice my findings are found on over 60 authors and Bible College lecturers.

Musta-

Mine are based on the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, may it be done unto you as you will.

"The ministry I shared is the most biblical the Lord has led me too, and Holy Spirit will come and guide you just as Jesus promised in John 16."

There, does that meet the needs of you worldly and immature faith?
