transport

why cant we just spread our wings and fly whenever we want, be cool to have wings. Or just teleport.

Instead we have to build roads...and then carparks and traffic lights and gas stations and bridges and tunnels etc.

What things unnecessarily complicate life?

Mostly people trying to get in other people's business and tell them they are solving their problems the wrong way, before even understanding what the problems are.

You see this a lot at work, usually in the form of gossip. "He said you didn't need it? You oughta get yourself a divorce, girl, he ain't good enough for you."

I could have posted this in other forums; however, due to the way I worded #4 in the list below, I decided to post it in this forum.

Having been asked in a PM what things I thought unnecessarily complicate life, this was my answer:

1) Having a lot of "stuff" - which may be okay if you own enough land and have a place to put it all in an organized way - otherwise, it can become a "ball and chain" situation.

2) Getting too "involved" with modern technology - which can "take over your life" if you are not careful.

3) Listening too much to the "talking heads" of the MSM - which will have the tendancy to lock you into their 'narrative' - robbing you of the "living out" of your own life.

4) Not holding yourself to your own priorities with regard to the relationships you have with others - especially when looking for a 'mate'. (I wrote it like this because I believe in and prefer the idea of 'courting' rather than 'dating' - which is more complicated in-of-itself than courting.)

~

After thinking about it a bit more, I decided this topic was worthy of starting a thread.

What can you add to this list?
I was a member of the US Army, Infantry for seven years. We spent a lot of our time training, out in the field. We had no luxeries at all. Slept out in the open, ate C rations, drank instant coffee out of a C ration can etc.......... Yet I was happy.

As a part time job, I washed dishes for $1 an after school hours, I enjoyed all the people I worked with. I was happy.

Growing up in a family of 5 children, we shared a black and white TV, had only one car, none of the electronic paraphenalia that kids have today. I was happy.

Lesson learned, you don't need all the materialism of this world to be happy and happiness is what counts!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are flash drive installs for that.

Or is the UEFI/BIOS locked on the computers at your job?

I've heard tyrannical things that Win11 is starting to introduce. I got Win10 on my work computer, with a Centos 8 dual-boot. (My machine for domestic stuff is a 13" 2020 MacBook Pro).

It is a somewhat-complex issue. (The 'technical' aspects are not a/the problem.)

At the core of it is the fact that we are [still] using software that only runs on windows.
