"The Gambler

There are so many ways to gamble these days! Casinos that used to be found
only in Las Vegas now seem to be everywhere. People gamble on sporting
events, at racetracks, and in state lotteries. Others risk their hard-earned
money in the stock market, which is always a gamble! But even if you have
never placed a bet, if you are not saved, you are gambling with eternity.

You might be thinking, “I don’t use that word saved,” but I wonder if at
some time in your life you’ve sung that most beloved of all Christian hymns,
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.” You may
have sung the song, but are you saved? We call the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior;
well, the purpose of a Savior is to save people! Has He saved you?

The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved
(Acts 16:31). Now, if you are wondering what it is specifically that you have
to believe about Christ to be saved, the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians,

“I declare unto you The Gospel Which I preached unto you...by which
also ye are saved...how that Christ died for our sins According To The
Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day”
(I Corinthians 15:1-4).

Here the Bible clearly says that the way to be saved from your sins is to believe
that Christ died to pay for your sins. So the only question now is, do you believe
God when He says your sins are paid for? Do you trust Him when He says that?
If you do, the Bible says that you are saved!

If you are not sure what I’m trying to say, suppose for a moment that you have
a serious gambling problem, and that you have racked up a million dollars in
gambling debts. One day some very bad men threaten to kill you unless you
pay your debt. Naturally, you are very afraid, because you don’t have the money.
But just then a friend emails you to say, “I heard about your problem, and I paid
your debt.”

Now you have to ask yourself, “Do I really believe my friend when he says he paid
my debt? Do I trust him when he says my debt is paid?” If you don’t believe him,
you’ll have to keep trying to pay your debt on your own. But if you do trust your
friend when he says he paid your debt, you’ll thank him for it, and simply rest in
what he did for you.

That’s all God asks of you to be saved from your sins. Believe that Christ paid
for your sins, and rest in what He did for you. If you’ll do that, the Bible says
you are saved. If you won’t, well, you’ll just have to go on trying to pay for your
sins in your own way, by being good, by not being bad, or by being religious—
something the Bible says you can never do:

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that Justifieth
the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Romans 4:5).
“For By Grace are ye Saved Through faith; and that not of yourselves:
It Is The Gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”
(Ephesians 2:8,9).
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but According
To His Mercy He Saved us” (Titus 3:5).

If you are still not sure what I am trying to say, I have a little exercise for you.
Later today, or perhaps tomorrow, you are going to do some good thing, or
avoid doing some sinful thing. At that moment, you will be tempted to think,
“I just helped pay my way to heaven.” When that happens, stop yourself, and
say,

“No, the Bible says that the only way I can get to heaven is by believing that
Christ died for my sins.” Just keep that up, and eventually you’ll learn to trust
what Christ did on the cross of Calvary to pay for your sins, and rest completely
in what He did for you.

They say life is a gamble, and I suppose in many ways it is. But don’t gamble
with eternal life. The stakes are much too high. I promise you this: A thousand
years from this moment, you will remember this moment. And whether you
remember it with joy or eternal regret depends on the decision you must make
right now to trust Christ as your Savior.

Saved, according to Greek interpretation, means "delivered.

The born again child of God, is delivered (saved) here in this present world, when he believes on the Lord Jesus Christ

Whether you believe that he died for your sins, or not, does not negate the fact that all of the sins of those that God gave to his Son, were redeemed from their sins, and are promised an inheritance of heaven. Jesus sacrifice was successful. He did not die in vain.

The reassuring fact is, that Jesus died for those that God gave to him, before they had done any good or bad, to show that God's election might stand (Rom 9:11).

Jesus sacrifice was indeed successful. He certainly did not die in vain.

All who obey the Gospel, will reap the benefit of His sacrifice, if they continue in the faith.

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:8

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

JPT
Of course, The Gospel Is The Truth; believing it is one thing; obeying ALL of
the attached commands, After receiving God's Free Gift is quite another - ie:

God Establishes An Eternal Relationship With Himself, when "a person"
believes/trusts/places faith In Christ, His All-Sufficient BLOOD, and His
Resurrection
From the dead. (1Co 15:3-4; Eph 2:8-9; Tit 3:5) *

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ” (online)

Then occurs our Fellowship With Him, as we find all the commands,
for The Body Of Christ, in Romans - Philemon; obeying them is
"rewarded," however "bad works suffer loss" At Judgment!:

"If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but
he himself Shall Be Saved; yet so as by fire." (1Co 3:15)
BIG Differences, Correct?

* Abundant Scriptural Confirmation:

God's OPERATION On all HIS New-born babes In Christ
+
God's Eternal Assurance
----------------------
Grace, Peace, And JOY In Christ, And In His Word Of Truth, Rightly
Divided
(+ I and II)!

right it’s a big gamble to reject Gods offer of eternal Life and claim some other form of salvation

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:22, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But sadly your going to hear about “ Paul’s gospel of grace “ which is some other gospel where you don’t need to hear what Jesus said about salvstion “ your saved regardless of what Jesus said “ is the subtle message

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that Justifieththe ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Romans 4:5).“For By Grace are ye Saved Through faith; and that not of yourselves: It Is The Gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”(Ephesians 2:8,9).“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but AccordingTo His Mercy He Saved us” (Titus 3:5).
Rom 4:5 - This is not referring to the unregenerate person described in 1 Cor 2:14, that cannot discern the things of the Spirit, and thinks them to be foolishness, but is referencing the regenerate person who has been quickened to the new spiritual life (Eph 2:1-5).

The "faith" in Eph 2:8, is not mankind's faith, but is the faithfulness of Christ submitting himself to the cross (Gal 2:16).

Titus Chapter 1 & 2 - Paul left Titus in Crete , instructing him to set in order the things that are wanting, and to ordain elders in every city, giving them the qualifications of an elder.

Chapter 3 - Titus is putting them in mind of several things. Verse 5-7, Titus is reminding them that they were a part of those that God gave to his Son, to redeem them from their sins, making them heirs of eternal life.

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:3, 5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is the spirit that quickeneth;

the flesh profiteth nothing:

the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭4:24‬ ‭

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All of this language below is based on all that understanding above in the gospel

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

….For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

…Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2, 5-6, 12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

of we remove what Jesus established in the gospel we’re removing all
Of the understanding from what Paul’s saying in his epistles

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hearing first and then believing the gospel is where a spiritual mind comes from the word of the spirit and truth by which we worship God the eternal covenant promised by the lord

a that’s what leaves a mind carnal we won’t learn what’s being taught about the spirit and flesh because we’re skipping the words of the spirit that quickens believers

That's a very good gospel presentation friend. When I was a teenager, I decided to trust Jesus to save me from hell. The thing that sealed the deal for me was calling on the name of the Lord. That's why of all the gospel videos I have to choose from, I like this one best. It is very clear AND concludes with this simple prayer to call on the Lord to receive eternal life.

Jesus IS the Truth. Obedience to the gospel is to believe that report of Christ's death for all sins on our behalf, buried and risen on the third day. Faith in Him as opposed to faith in works is the obedience here when you read Romans 10 my friend.

God to the religious Pharisee:

"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

John 3

God to the woman at the well who lived with her boyfriend, having been married 5 times.

"Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."

With all do respect, and in harmony with other scriptures, I believe this verse is in reference to the born again, servants of the Lord ( Isaiah 54:17). Hearing the truth gives life to the born again person as he lives here on earth.

‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These scriptures has reference to the born again children of God; The following inserts are not referencing eternal life, but are referencing deliverances that the child of God receives as he sojourns here in this world.

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (free from ignorance of the truth).

"Every one that heareth my word (John 10:26-29), and believeth on him that sent me, (already) hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death ( being spiritually dead in sins) unto life ( life in Christ) This is all in past tense.

“This is not referring to the unregenerate person described in 1 Cor 2:14, that cannot discern the things of the Spirit, and thinks them to be foolishness, but is referencing the regenerate person who has been quickened to the new spiritual life (Eph 2:1-5).”

That which is born of the flesh is flesh;

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:3, 5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is the spirit that quickeneth;

the flesh profiteth nothing:

the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Just a suggestion; It might help if you referenced the Greek concordance.

Life, in every scripture, does not reference eternal life. World, in every scripture, does not reference the world that God loves. Salvation, saved, save = deliverance, most of them being deliverances that the, born again, child of God receives as he sojourns here on earth.

This is a false doctrine of eternal salvation by our good works, The natural, unregenerate, man, as described in 1 Cor 2:14, cannot discern the things of the Spirit (like believing in spiritual things) and thinks them to be foolishness.

Do you believe a person must obey the Gospel which is another way of saying
“obey the truth”?

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “LORD, who has believed our report?” Romans 10:16

JPT

The gospel tells us how that all of those that God gave to Jesus were eternally saved on the cross, but the gospel is not the cause of our eternal salvation.
