Is this supposed to be about whether we can or cannot lose our salvation?

When Jesus says He will lose none of whom the Father gives Him, and Paul iterates that nothing
can separate us from the love of God, is this not an affirmation that salvation cannot be lost?

That certainly would be one aspect of the discussion. We cannot undo being born. Likewise, we do not possess the ability to make ourselves unborn spiritually.
But there's probably much more there.

The OP threw me into a wondering loop about the significance of The Father saying, "This day I have begotten Thee" after the Holy Spirit alit upon Jesus... It seems certain that there's a connection there, somewhere, to being born (again)?
