Have you both experienced this sign?

No, I was feeling empathy for Nod.

I can honestly say everyone I have met off the internet has been like they said they were. And I have met a lot of people.

I feel bad that so many people use the internet as their play ground.

I've met a few people from the internet and they were pretty much the same in person as online. I'm glad I don't have any meetup horror stories. :p

Haha, I started talking to a guy online. In the 3rd conversation with him he asked EXACTLY the same questions to me as he had done the previous two times. Incidentally I started talking to him via a dating site. It was then that I realised that he has taken no notice of what I have previously said probably cos he has so many single women on the go at one time! So, I deleted him LOL. Oh yes, I am harsh....but really....if you wanna know me you could at least remember SOME details from our last conversation!!! (Gosh, he could have written some stuff down about me so he could at least look somewhat educated about me?! ) hahahaha! Oh well...

I am the same here as I am anywhere. Congruency is what I try to maintain.

Other people, well, I think if you make friends and talk to someone enough online you can make a guess as to how genuine they are......at least some of the time anyway.

Top sign:
they tell that they are from a country but they dont speak the language of that country lol

This is great advice--I think it's safe to say that you can never FULLY trust the internet persona to be "what you see is what you get".

CAUTION is the word.
I find this attitude ironic. As if just because you can be face to face with someone somehow lends more credibility to who they are. Like there aren't a million stories of marriages ending in murder, abuse, hiring hitmen, or even stories of cheating, or having more than one spouse. And thats while living together.
While it may make it a bit easier online to be dishonest, its still very easy to do in person as well. Bottom line is offline or online you need to be cautious.
Personally i have had many online friends who i would trust.

QFT: VERY GOOD point.

When stories don't match up or seem even slightly plausible, they refuse to speak on webcam after months of very thorough and enjoyable conversation, always excusing things, etc.

Very top sign:
When he tells you that you would be his perfect second wife

*removes oil baron princess tiara and stomps on it*

how about when their lips are moving???

until you meet and spend time with someone in real life you can't know for sure they are telling the truth about anything. The great thing about the internet is that you can write anything, post any picture or video and claim it is you and the person on the other end wont know the difference. I could say I'm 6'1" and look like whatever celebrity you ladies think is hot these days, and who among you could contradict me?

I'm not saying you should automatically assume a person ois lying, just take what they say with a pound of salt until you meet in person and actually get to know the person.
