What if i go on a business trip...can I masturbate as long as im thinking about my wife? I mean that seems fine.

P.s. im just throwing up examples because blanket statements rarely seem to be correct.
Sex is a gift from God to be used between a man and women in the sanctity of marriage. Sexually gratifying yourself without your partner "seems fine," but is not.

I'm glad to see that you've been careful in expressing something that is difficult to understand in biblical terms. Simply using the sword against one of your own does not answer how each person, male and female, understands these things. The use of biblical language concerning the double edged sword is not used against someone else. It is an expression of how the Word of God works within the person who considers it personally.

When Peter used the sword to cut a man off from the hearing of the (s)Word of God, Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back in its sheath," and then Jesus (the Word of God )healed the man's ear because faith comes by hearing..... and hearing by the Word of God. This is the parable of two swords.

It is a necessary thing for the struggle to understand biblical language on a personal level. To simply accept what a person says, is to live by a borrowed faith; there is no personal connection. So the things you see taking place here are part of that learning process. A person who thinks Christians don't struggle to understand who we are and why we are that way in God's sight, have not struggled with Truth, only to find out the only way to win that battle from within, is to surrender; Something that is not natural to a person.

I believe He is. He said if you lust you have comitted adultery in your heart. He continues if your right eye cause you to sin pluck it out. I.E. looking at women causes you to lust, then He continues if your right hand cause you to sin I.E. causes you to lust after women.

Now you tell me. how does your right hand cause you to lust?

For you to say that Jesus is not talking about masturbation is every bit as assumptive as I would be for saying He is. According to you (not me) what you are doing by assuming He is not talking about masturbation is a sin.

Now you say it is sin to understand scripture one way or another , not me. So as you said be careful what you say.

You wouldnt want to judge me and then do the same thing

Foundthetruth did not say that. he quotes the scripture that says marriage in honorable in all, that would include pleasuring one another. However masturbation outside of the maritial relationship, self gratification, lusting on other women other than your wife ect... is sin.

I don't want to see my brothers and sisters in Christ fall into this wicked trap and die in their sins. Some of you may believe that this type of sexual immorality is our right as human beings, but do not be deceived by the society's standards and instead, be founded on the truth of Christ.

To be honest with you, i still have issues with this. That's why i'm finding ways to get it right.

Fighting temptation is really hard to do and to pray and stay away from it is the best thing to do.

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

Brother, if you die unrepentant, you will have no excuse before our Lord.
If you are to repent, you must turn from your masturbation, forsake it and amend your life. You are in danger of hell fire.

wow. I can't belief this thread is still open.

Masturbation is a sin. It is just as damaging as any other sexual sin. But no one is going to go to hell because they struggle with this sin issue.

Our parents do, or did not, kick us out of their family when we sinned against them. They loved us and tried to help us. God is no different.

If we see a brother or sister in sin. Help them. try to heal them, This is what God wants, and what he is trying to do.

But God is not going to kick us out of his family because we struggle with sin. This is placing us back under law. And is not scriptural.

I see you use Romans 8:1, but you didn't complete the entire verse. It goes on to say "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk what, NOT AFTER THE FLESH, but after the Spirit.

If we are caught in habitual masturbation and we never repent, that is turn to from it and forsake it, and we die, then we are walking after the flesh and not after the Spirit. How can you say that he is not in danger of eternal damnation? The bible makes it clear

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Masturbation is fornication. If you are unrighteous in your masturbation, your fornication, you will not inherit the kingdom of God. That's not what I'm saying, that's what the word of God tells us.

1. The rest of the verse you posted is questionable at best when it comes to being scripture. It is only found in a few manuscripts. And is missing from many.

As for the rest. Scripture can not contradict itself. When paul says we are not saved by law. but by grace, he means it.

When Paul says we are not saved by works of righteousness (good deeds, not sinning, obeying the law) but by faith in Christ he means it.

if you want to put yourself under law. and hope you make it, feel free. But it is a false gospel. And I will appose false gospels. Which lead men to the very depths of hell. Because they depend on self for salvation. And not Christ.

Scripture said if we have broken even the least of the law. we are found guilty of breaking the whole law. You condemn masterbation and sexual sin..
Scripture says if you even lie, dishonor your parents. Covet what as someone has (even their body) you are guilty of the law. and are found as sinners. Which we ALL are.
and only one thing can cleans us of these sins. Christ.

I am big on people helping others who struggle. I am down on people who say if we do not stop sinning we will go to hell. No one can or will be perfect. We all struggle with personal sin. Some might be as bad as masturbation. Some might be just pride or anger, or whatever. But we are all sinners. And not one of us will be worthy when we stand in front of God. No matter how good we think we are. or no matter what sins we stop doing.

Why would God ask us to do the impossible? That wouldn't be just.

We are not saved by works, but by Christ, but taking his grace as an excuse to sin is not the truth. Under your theology you would argue that all Christians are going to go to heaven. Its clear in Matthew 7 that there will be many Christians in hell. Read 1 Peter 4:18 "And if scarcely the righteous be saved, where can the ungodly and sinner appear?" Scarcely the righteous be saved? That should make you work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

All my good works are as filthy rags. Obeying the commandments doesn't save me, but in 1 John we are told that if we say we know him (Jesus) and keep not his commandments, then we are LIARS, and the truth is not in us.

This is not a false gospel, this is the whole gospel, wake up brother, the wages of sin is death, if we are not walking after the Spirit and are walking after the flesh, we are under the law and in condemnation. We should say and believe in our hearts, "I will never sin again, I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me." Now if we do sin, we quickly repent, repent and turn from it, confess and admit to God he is right and that it is wrong and believe through Jesus Christ we never have to sin again. It is possible, if it weren't, Jesus wouldn't have said, "Go and sin no more."
