Defending your favorite, much preferred, secular non-Christian music and non-Christian musicians again? Just cannot help yourself right?

Knopfler made about as profound a commitment to Christ as did Bono (Bono ALSO being evidently considered a disciple in a bogus Laodicean Church that I abandoned. Simply because he mentioned Jesus once or twice! Instantly elevated to the status of a prophet!). As in zero commitment. Bible studies every day striving to know His truth? Nope. Growing in Christ? Nope. Suffering the offense of the cross? You have got to be kidding. Living a life abiding by the doctrine of the apostles? Not a chance. Discipleship? That would require a teensy tiny sacrifice so no way Jose. Living as a pilgrim and sojourner waiting for his redemption in Christ Jesus? I seriously doubt it.

Did Knopfler or Bono depart from Egypt/Sodom leaving everything behind? Not so you would notice.

"He has produced albums for Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, and Randy Newman."
Really? Interesting. No association to Christian bands or musicians? Like EVER?

And we all know what lurks beneath the pop music scene....right?
But Knopfler was fully committed all in all day all his life to this scene yet he failed to recognize or come to terms with what it really is all about? And made a bundle peddling it too....???

"Knopfler has been married three times, first to Kathy White, his long-time girlfriend from school days. They separated before Knopfler moved to London to join Brewers Droop in 1973. Knopfler's second marriage in November 1983 to Lourdes Salomone produced twin sons, who were born in 1987. Their marriage ended in 1993. On Valentine's Day 1997 in Barbados, Knopfler married British actress and writer Kitty Aldridge, whom he had known for three years. Knopfler and Aldridge have two daughters, Katya Ruby Rose and Isabella “Issy”, an actress.

Knopfler is a fan of Newcastle United F.C. "Going Home (Theme of the Local Hero)" is used by Newcastle United as an anthem at home games.

Knopfler has a collection of classic cars which he races and exhibits at shows, including a Maserati 300S and an Austin-Healey 100S.

Knopfler was estimated to have a fortune of £75 million in the Sunday Times Rich List of 2018, making him one of the 40 wealthiest people in the British music industry."

Mat 7:23
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Mat 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

And here is one for you @Magenta : a little reminder of the state of affairs in this present age.

1Ti 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Ti 2:14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Here is that Bono guy. Just hanging out with his hell-bound buddies.....
And this guy was practically a guru at that bogus Laodicean Church that I kicked to the curb hastily abandoned.

One-eye symbol, 666 the works.

Your favorite music was also once new.

Your favorite music was once "that trash the kids listen to."

I daresay your favorite music was once preached against in some churches.

Your favorite music also has some examples of total junk. Every style has them.

Just because you can point to one bad example and say "See? SEE?! This proves rock music is EVIL!" doesn't mean rock is by definition evil. There is much crap in your own favorite style of music. There are some good songs in your favorite style too... Just like rock.

Does "Jesus Is Your Ticket To Heaven" fall under your ban?

It was made by the Rex Nelon Singers. They are southern gospel. The style of the song would currently be recognized as southern gospel. But back in the 60s it would have been called rock.

Which version of "rock" are we using to determine what to denounce?

Judge not by appearances but judge with right judgment. Also, do not judge unto condemnation for we have not yet been given such authority.

Keeping in mind God will use what is not to bring down what is. He will also use the lowly to bring down the haughty.

At least Eve confessed her sin. And you?

You didn't answer the question.

Does "Jesus Is your Ticket To Heaven" count as the rock you so loathe?

I am not in search mode looking to "experience" different supposed Christian music. But for one thing I do NOT like the vibe.
Nothing likeable about it to my ears.

But I will say that if supposed Christian music is sung my non-believers, its is as worthless as the vinyl it is scored on.

Elvis and Cash sang gospel tunes. Were they saved? Look at their lifestyles.

I'm... yes, well... I'll take that as a, "No this music is no good."

More than fifty years after being penned and sung by Norman Greenbaum,
this song remains quite popular among a diverse group of people.

Perhaps now we will get an anti-Semitic rant.

I loved that song, and it made me thing of the Farther, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And when I die, I hope to go ups to Him, rather, be taken up to Him. Praise God, amen.

So basically anything you don't personally like is automatically evil?

Read. Just read and for pity's sake and wake up.
If these are not the end times then there will not be any. Which is impossible.
And all those who did not escape from this music industry Sodom will be.....you know.

By the way you forgot the word "sheeple." If you tell somebody to wake up, and use it in a derogatory manner, you have to use the whole phrase "wake up sheeple."

I'm not sure if it's a law exactly, but it is definitely expected and required by society.

Why sure, haven't you heard of the sheeple police?
They can be found in every Church, sleeping under the steeple.

"Jesus Is Just Alright" is a gospel song written by Art Reynolds and first recorded by
Reynolds' own group, The Art Reynolds Singers, on their 1966 album, Tellin' It Like It Is.

The song has been covered by a number of bands and artists over the years, including the Byrds, Underground Sunshine,
the Doobie Brothers, Alexis Korner, Ventures, DC Talk, Stryper, Shelagh McDonald, and Robert Randolph (feat. Eric Clapton).

The first cover version of the song was recorded by the Los Angeles band the Byrds on their 1969 album,
Ballad of Easy Rider. The song was later recorded by The Doobie Brothers, who included it on their 1972
album, Toulouse Street. The Doobie Brothers' version of the song was released as a single in November
1972 and it became a hit in the United States, peaking at No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1973, American
rock band Exile released their self titled debut album which included a cover. In 1992, the Christian rock and
hip hop group DC Talk released a version of "Jesus Is Just Alright" on their Free at Last album. The song has
also been covered by Robert Randolph on his Colorblind album, with guest artist Eric Clapton.

Never thought I would see the day when Rex Nelon singers was considered devil music.
I can tell that the village alarmist has entered the scene. Mr cv5 has a colorful language paired up with some colorful opinions. Must be nice to always be right lol.
