well, you certainly can play again if you choose. a younger brother played the piano for a while. was a classical type player.

certain Squires are worth decent money!What make and model do you have? I still have the acoustic I bought after coming out west in 1977 .
It is a Norman B12, hand made in Quebec. I also have an electric Fender Squire .
Acoustic guitar for me too… It’s still just hanging around in its little case gathering dust. I also have a cheap electric with amp I never play. I think partly because I hated the process to get those good calluses on the tips of my fingers…Ow! …that and chronic shoulder/upper back pain so I never felt comfortable trying to hold the guitar. I even bought a shoulder strap thinking that would help the back pain. Now at my age there’s really no point (52).
But funny enough every so often I give it a go, but the same stuff I mentioned always seems to happen.

For a 91 year old, that is very light senility. But I don't think you are quite that old...
I think that I read in one of your posts somewhere that you help to take care of your grandmother. If that is so, then God bless you for that.
No, I am nowhere near your grandmother's age, and I am definitely not showing any signs of senility (very light or otherwise). Instead, I believe that I have a very sound mind in Christ; even as my username might suggest. It is just that my mind is an honest mind...especially in the sense of accurately assessing situations and relationships.

I have an acoustic guitar but never learned how to 'properly' play it as there are no musicans in my family. I did join an evening class with once to learn but quit because I prefer playing in my own way..by finger picking.
I dont regret it though because if I learned to play it properly and make it my profession everyone would be asking me to play all the time and it would be no fun.
I play it to relax.
I cant think of anything I regret quitting. Ive quit jobs I dont like and wouldnt go back to..there was always a valid reason for quitting something. If something doesnt work it doesnt work no matter how hard you try you cant make a square peg fit in a round hole as the saying goes ...not that Ive ever tried it! Pegs are meant to be hung on a washing line anyway.

I started playing both almost 40 years ago. My proficiency in each is something far south of what 40 years of experience might suggest.
I quit volleyball. I started out on the bench, because I had a weak spike (weak jump), but ended the season starting at libero, because I aced at digs and sets, so I was making good progress but didn't go out for the team when the season came back around in 8th grade. I think coach quitting, or moving on to coach elsewhere, had some part to do with that.

I quit volleyball and all sports in middle school, but no regrets.
I'm pretty sure you missed a golden opportunity to start a thread titled "You quitter!"
You're not missing anything, imo. I took one year of french because my high school required one year of a foreign language (any) back in the 90's. I didn't remember much and never have wished I remembered more.
