I think you need to learn the difference from hired workers (Israelites) and slaves (foreigners) slaves for life.
Do you think people only had small debts? Would you rather they killed all their enemies?

Do you ever read the NT? Or just scour the old to further sour your attitude?

Did you look at the link I gave in this post? <= click.

It's never right at any time to own another human as property.
You can repeat that statement as a mantra 1000 times, but it will not make it true..

Hired workers are servants. Slaves (foreigners) are inherited. Hired workers go back to their clans.

If it wasn't true. Then you would own another human as property, you follow perfection, remember

Do you think people only ever owed small debts then?

And would you prefer the Israelites killed all their enemies instead?

Do you answer questions?

I just showed you slavery. Hired workers go back to their clans. Foreigners don't. "You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life" They are owned, just like the slave owner owns the slaves>>children<<if he has any with the slave woman the slave owner also owns as he is giving the slave a wife.

I don't think you know what perfection is. Nothing is ever new.

It's never right at any time to own another human as property.
It's never right to steal.
God's justice is righteous.
As He is justly perfect to throw some human rebel like you and me into the fire place, so He is satisfied with His holy Son being tormented for our crimes. That's a fact. Did you have time to listen to that long video? Here's one more.

um... Bart Ehrman is an apostate. we don't really take him seriously. you ought to do at least a little homework, you know.

but don't you want to come to Christ? the master you're currently enslaved to, sin, is brutal, cruel, and a liar.

Jesus is a benevolent master who will love you. He will forgive you and always do good to you. forever!

doesn't that sound better?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?
the Bible presents just two kinds of people. slaves to sin, and slaves to righteousness. (Rom 6)

but, in the words of that great theologian Bob Dylan, you're gonna have to serve somebody. ;)

Based on what standard of law or morality? Yours? Who died and made you the king?

You stand in judgment of me, thinking wrongly that you know what I believe, while implying that your morality is superior. I’m certain it isn’t. Your stubborn refusal to discuss anything other than an ancient code that doesn’t apply to me means the conversation, if we can call it that, rather boring.

If all you want to do is hammer people with your misunderstanding of our beliefs , you are pathetic indeed.

Leviticus 25:44-46 Slave buying/trafficking and slave beating Exodus 21:20-21.
First of all, let’s get the correct wording and context. You can read it yourself.

38 I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.
39 And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be sold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bondservant:
40 But as an hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile.
41 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
42 For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.
43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.
44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
47 And if a sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family:
48 After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:
49 Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself.
50 And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him.

Are you aware that it was Christians that led to the abolition of slavery in the US and Europe, and that thousands died for that change? Are you so naive about human nature that you cannot see without regulation humans are capable of much worse than slavery?
I assume you are aware that that many atheists around the world still buy and sell slaves today?

I suggest to you that God simply regulated something that already existed, as He does all sin.

Are you aware that Paul declared himself a slave to Christ? You are indeed a slave (willing or unwilling) to either your passions, or someone else's.

Many determine themselves to be their own god, while others believe there is a better option.

Most atheistic views conclude that since there is no God, morality is a personal and fluid concept. That what’s right for you or anyone else is a personal matter. In the end, if there is no God nothing really matters, because as the song says, “WE are all just stardust.”

Why rail against the concept of a God that regulates sin, and offers an option to a self indulgent, dead-end life?

Are there other reasons you have come not only reject, but hate God?
