John the Baptist said "bring forth fruit necessary for repentance. What do we do to prove that?
The 180 degree turn requires absolutely nothing? Taking off the old man & putting on the new requires nothing?
Paul said "be transformed by the renewing of our minds." What does that entail?
Jesus Himself was the one who said: "Why do you call me Lord, Lord, & do not the things that I say?"
Is Satan happy when we do absolutely nothing?
How can we look at all this & more & say of man's part it requires nothing?
Watch a baby pulling himself up to learn how to walk, then ask yourself what it took for us to do the same spiritually.

Yes,
Sitting about and having holy thoughts from time to time is not what "believing" or "faith" is all about. It's actively working and doing things that stem from that faith including worship, altruistic endeavors, giving, and charity.

John 6:28-29
Then they said to Him,
"What shall we do,
that we may work the works of God?"
Jesus answered and said to them,
"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

He is faithful; He will do it.
2 Corinthians 6-10
6 Therefore having always confidence, knowing that, while we are in the body, we are absent from the Lord. 7 (For we walk by faith, and not by sight.) 8 But we are confident, and have a good will to be absent rather from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 And therefore we labour, whether absent or present, to please him. 10 For we must all be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the proper things of the body, according as he hath done, whether it be good or evil.

There's a rather humorous scene in Dante's Inferno where these two guys
who knew each other in life are quarreling over who deserves Hell more than
the other; which is pretty silly when it's considered that both are condemned
to the same level down there.

For example: a number of elitist Christians are far more tolerable of dishonesty
than they are of LGBTQ yet both the liar and the carnal deviant are on track for
pretty much the same fate. (Rev 21:8)

Would seem like this is a easy answer. Praise GOD some had to yell at us .. which is odd because God never had to, then some verses never answered the question as I read it.

"Can a person get to heaven without them using any effort?" Is this just a play on words? Using "effort" in place of "works"? It can take allot of effort to just have faith in the smallest things but He paid did it all. That faith I have came from Him. To believe came from Him by me hearing His word. It would seem odd.. I did nothing and He alone did it all. On that what comes to mind is the song by Brandon Lake where he says "I've nothing else fit for a king"
