So... How has this worked out for you? Found the girl of your dreams yet?

Can't wait for that promised next post.
That is actually a good question. Enquiring minds want to know.

All of this talk about the game made me think about WWE and Triple H. My former fascination with professional wrestling will haunt me forever.

I'm still holding on to the SAP (self-appointed preacher) theory. Well meaning, looking for a congregation to guide, but completely out of touch with reality. The occasional bouts of ridicule indicate a radical shift in mood on occasion. Possibly caused by drink. But that's just a guess.
I've wondered about the extreme shifts in mood, tone, and writing style as well... I can't go so far as to say they are influenced by anything, but the differences are jarring.

For those who might not know, some of us "old-timers" have seen so much of this over the years that we came up with the terms:

1. SAP - Self-Appointed Preacher -- someone who blasts in, doesn't care to learn about anyone else, but yet had an important message God wants them to dictate to all.

2. SAP - Self-Appointed Prophet -- might coincide with the self-appointed preacher. Believes they alone are the truth mouthpiece of God and anyone else is a false prophet risen to oppose them on their holy mission.

3. Crystal Whacker -- the bull in the china shop who bursts in with their hard "truths," proclaiming the masses too weak the handle the truth, but they are anointed by God to dish it out.

And yet, whenever someone confronts THEM with a truth, their heart shatters like a piece of crystal, because they simply can't take criticism themselves.

LOL.

This feels like a Frank Herbert Dune novel -- we're coming up with an entire vocabulary of repetitive behaviors that people might need to know to survive on the forum.

He hasn’t answered mine, so I’m guessing I’m on ignore too.

I was just thinking. If a guy changes the subject, homeboy said the guy is weak. But my husband is so knowledgeable, he can talk about mostly anything. So maybe a guy isn’t weak but smart lol.
Your husband was smart for marrying you.

He just really seemed to love the whole process, along with the excitement and attention that came with it, because of course there was a huge buzz every time he moved on to another girl.
Garfield said it best....

This is awesome! Not only does it capture the thought perfectly, but Garfield was my first favorite cartoon character -- and I still love him!

To me, the best thing about all this is that it seems to have "livened up" the forum a bit -- it's great to see people talking, interacting, and best of all, bantering -- just like in the "old days" when the threads seemed to be going nonstop. :)

One of the things all this "date many people at once" advice has me thinking about are the people who get addicted to "The Game" rather than actually finding someone. I'm thinking of writing a thread about it but am still piecing together the framework in my mind.

...

I don't know what the young folk say now days, but back then, this was called being a "player," and anyone who tried to confront them was called a "player hater" -- to which the player would say, "Don't hate me -- hate the game."
I think "dating more than one person at a time or not" would be a great topic!

I think there's more than one reason why some people date more than one person at a time. You've pointed out one: people who love the 'game' of getting the date, or getting the person to like you, or getting the person to love you, or say, "I do". They like the challenge, the accomplishment, they get self-aggrandizement, or self-validation from the "conquest".

But there are other reasons, some less insidious reasons, why people do, or try to, date more than one person at a time. :coffee:

The most ironic thing is that Steve completely humiliated and harassed @zeroturbulence for absolutely no reason.

Steve himself, in the very first post, uses an example of a woman browsing through a book about the stock market.

So I (a woman, the last time I checked, although Steve said in another thread I'm like a princess at a tea party,) joked that I would be the one to bore a poor man to death with talk about the stock market, such as with stock market OPTIONS.

Zero came in and said he'd thought of doing options in the past.

So Steve comes charging in and:

1. Accuses Zero of not having the guts to talk to a woman -- Zero WAS talking to a woman -- me!

2. Accuses Zero of changing the topic, which will make the woman see him as weak -- Zero was EXACTLY on point with the topic, which was stock market options.

But Steve came in with guns blazing when he didn't even bother reading anyone else's posts, and therefore cut Zero down without seeing that Zero was doing exactly what Steve was telling men to do!!! (Talking to a woman and growing the conversation with her.)

Jiminy Crickets!!!

I suppose the next thing Steve is going to say is that Zero is weak for having a woman defend him, which is what he replied when I tried to explain another male member's stance in another thread.

Once again, if you're going to put the majority of people on Ignore, DO NOT try to keep adding to the conversation -- even if you started it -- because this is a prime example of just how foolish you're going to make yourself look.

And it could have all been avoided if Steve had just bothered to actually keep up with his own discussion.
I'm sure he has you on ignore, but thanks anyway, Seoul. I'm sure he thought I was talking about the thread topic, not seeing that I was replying to you specifically and talking about trading options because he can't see my quote of your post.
