I mean... Does it have to NOT be a wireless printer?

A lot of printers can USB or wireless connect. Do you have to have one that ONLY connects via USB?
It can still be wireless... But I don't have home internet and get everything I need from hotspotting off my phone. My parents bought a completely wireless printer (no USB port at all,) and we couldn't get it to hotspot off my phone. I have a family member who used to work on the Best Buy Geek Squad, and he couldn't get it to work that way either. So, I need one with a good-old fashioned USB hookup.

And maybe I've missed it (which is totally possible,) but the ones I looked over in a few stores didn't have USB ports either.

I'll have to look online and take a closer look at their descriptions/specs.

What are you hoping to buy someday soon?

Yup. That's as deep as this thread gets. At least at the start.

I don't mean pie-in-the-sky stuff. A personal yacht big enough to live on full-time, a Bugatti Veyron, a private island... Varth! We could spend all year talking about stuff we will never get. I mean what are you actually expecting to get soon, that you are currently looking forward to? What are you saving up for? What do you plan to get when your tax return comes in next year? What would you currently have on layaway, if they still did layaway?

Materialistically speaking, basically what are your short-term hopes and dreams?
for me, there is a super good chance i'm going to meet Mike Tyson next year, maybe this year. around the time of Friday, i start looking forward to our gourmet breakfast's & dinners in Saratoga. we have 1 investment arriving late this year or early next year. peaking my interest always, is a deal in merchandise. fortunately, we don't have to save for anything. we will enjoy are cruise in winter already booked & paid for. no lay-a-ways, ever.

I"m going to have to buy a new printer.
Search for Brother MFC-L2690DW. Laser is good as you don't have to worry about inkjets getting plugged up. This has both USB and wifi as do a lot of other Brother models. I've found Brother lasers to be much more reliable than HP or Sony lasers.

I made a note to do some research on this model -- thank you so much! :D

I will be needing a new computer before too awefully long. The one I have will be 7 years old in november
Mine too. Time for a new one. Keyboard stopped working on my laptop after a couple years. Had to buy a keyboard to plug into the laptop. Now, the backspace jams all of the time. Maybe I'll just get another keyboard as they don't cost a whole lot of money.

Any in that series that have both USB and WIFI would be good. We've got 4 Brothers and a Canon in the house... overkill, I know. Any HP or Sony laser I bought lasted a couple of days past the 1 year warranty and then broke down... With the Sony I bought another of the same model and when it broke right after the warranty period I figured out what was wrong and took a part from the first one and fixed it... but it broke again at some point. None of my Brother lasers have ever quit working. I gave the oldest ones to my kids... those ones are probably around 15 years old or older and they're still working.
