God has consigned all to disobedience.
Mmhm and then he offered freedom from it in the New Testament

“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32, 34-36‬ ‭

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil;

live as God’s servants .”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh;

rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭

The whole world was turned over to disobedience because they rejected Gids word when he was speaking and revealing things

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:18, 21-26‬ ‭

the gospel is about being born again in Christ as new creatures not bound to sin and death but set free like Adam again before he chose the knoweldge of good and evil over Gods word

we can now hesr and believe Jesus through the gospel and have our sins remitted and receive the spirit of God

That doesn’t leave anyone without freedom it brings freedom to former slaves that can now choose to live and not die through faith in Christ

we can be redeemed from that state and snare of Satan if we acknolwedge the truth

“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:24-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus can change us and set us free from sins control over us it doesn’t happen overnight and doesn’t happen without believing the truth

This is Gods offer of mercy upon all

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

there’s no work to be found but it requires one to trust fully the word of our God

How about Abraham? Was he different from the people of his time before the Lord came to him?
How about Saul of Tarsus? What was he like before the Lord came to him?

Yes, and amen, thank God for Jesus, Who sets us free from the law of sin and death.

John 8:36 plus Romans 8:2 If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death.

You just always look for ways to avoid everything it’s a circle jesus has come to everyone and he’s spoken to everyone

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16, 19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s salvation available for all but like it says some won’t believe what he actually said in the gospel or what he did for us so they’ll be damned like he said

Its in the world already salvation is to believe the lord not avoid what he said

grace comes from hearing the lord and believing him like Noah did , that’s all we have to do too believe the gospel and what it actually does say

i don’t really want to keep going in the circles

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;”

How is it that Jesus tells believers they can do nothing apart from Him, and yet unbelievers are able to get saved before they are part of Him?

The reason I'm asking is because it would be just as easy for me to share verses of Jesus saying things that you seem to contradict. For instance, John 6:39...all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again on the last day...

Who is all that the Father has given to Christ? Those who are saved? How is it such a one can lose their salvation if Jesus insures it? So what is true of those who associate themselves with Christ, yet fall away? Wouldn't Jesus have to go after them and bring them back if He is to claim He lost none? And yet some fall away and do not return? Did Jesus fail them or were they never given to Him?

I John 1:7 says that for those who are walking in the light (believers), the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses (Greek present tense = ongoingly, continually) them from all sin (sin is actually singular here in the Greek = each and every sin).

I grew up thinking that I needed to verbally confess every sin that I committed to God in order to be forgiven. I thought that if I sinned, God put a big red X on my record and I was doomed to hell unless I repented and confessed the sin. As you can easily conclude, I did not have assurance of salvation. I had my concept of God mixed up with the Devil: the Devil is the "accuser of the brethren."

Now I have come to believe that for the believer who is hanging on to Jesus (believing) and his blood atonement, the blood of Jesus ongoingly, continually is cleansing them from every sin they might commit.

Hallelujah! for Jesus and the cross!
Reading through this thread, this is what Paul or really the sweet Holy Spirit was saying, we move on.. hmm good word "elementary". We start eating meat. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Not good with words forgive me .. trying. Haha well thinking love to say because I'm getting old 63 but.. na its been me from the start. Ooh good song by the late BJ Thomas. Not here to debate someone's personal belief.

Sorry but this is grade school stuff "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." It's also written "Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

It's as if some only see one person in the mirror and believe He didn't die for future sins. I can't tell you how many times over 50+ years when I fell or fall still "thats' why I died" or asking me when all I saw was the sin I did He asks me "What is righteousness" I answer He asks "how do you get righteousness". See the sweet Holy Spirit by our elder brother Paul said its no longer I that sin but sin that is in me. So who are you? GOD can dwell with sin? God forbid. It's the new man which after God was/is created in righteousness and true holiness. You it.. Put on the new man.. put off "that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.". So who are you today?

Seems some are still waking living as they were when christ walked this earth before (ooh this is where the people shout) He died and rose. They were all living by the law. This don't forgive you Father won't forgive you. I understand that before He died and rose but.. how does this work today? Is He some how holding it against me? OT GOD saying I will remember their sins no more. So what sin can I do that He remembers? What sin did not get covered yet not covered but its gone forever. What do I do if I sin? If I don't repent as in forget .. still saved still going to heaven. Its just puts something between me and my Father. It gives the enemy the right to do things. Hey God didn't open that door to sin I did. I say sorry I repent I turn over a new leaf so to speak and not do that sin any more.

He not man He taught me by asking me "what is righteousness" I answered and He then asked "how do you get righteousness". See all I saw was the sin I did and wow that margin said I would not get anything from Him.. so I was going to quit. See He died I died.. He rose I rose..who am I today? Am I still the old man or the new man? That old man has not been changed or born from above yet. it's no longer I that sin but sin that is in me. Who are you? The new man or old man? This is very hard for some to see to understand because all you see in the mirror is just you and those thoughts and desires were not some demon but just you.. and man you really have to work to stay holy to stay righteous blah blah blah. I don't know about you.. but with in me .. I have no desire to sin.. I have never since He found me ask Him.. never thought "ooh I can freely sin now". He always says "that's why I died".

I don't sin to then try to offer some sacrifice for that sin like those Jewish believers did where the sweet Holy Spirit said by Paul "there is no more sacrifice for that sin. He can not die again". Do you not see? He died for the sin of the world. He didn't come to condemn the sinner but to save them. In some transcripts some words are not there.. some forget this and do not share that part..

So I guess I can just say.. if I sin miss I say sorry/repent not to be forgiven thats haha a given it's done already. But I have not right to freely sin. He still hates sin that will never change. It buts something between us and also.. it's something I should not dwell on aka the sin. We at times share things that give Him no glory but gives the enemy glory. I am the righteousness of God..I am a citizen of heaven.. I am seated in Heavenly places and I should always come before the Thorne of grace. Who are you? This is no groups doctrine man I don't like that when people toss that out because it sound like what some other group or *ism believes. I share what I know what I have experienced not what some group said or believes..

Love you all

“How is it that Jesus tells believers they can do nothing apart from Him, and yet unbelievers are able to get saved before they are part of Him?”

jesus doesn’t tell unbelievers anything because they reject his words in the gospel and never have any faith. They aren’t “ believers “

“I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:24‬ ‭

those people don’t have an atonement for thier sins they reject the one God made for all people of the world and remain under standards of rhe law of sin and death whether Jew or gentile.

Non believers aren’t under this judgement

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s for believer’s if the gospel.

“it would be just as easy for me to share verses of Jesus saying things that you seem to contradict. For instance, John 6:39...all which He hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again on the last day...”

“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:38-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I don’t contradict any of that
there’s nothing in John chapter 6 that changes chapter 8 or makes it a different doctrine

John six

…that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

I believe that 100 percent
‬ ‭
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I just don’t use that to erase this one or this one

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I don’t try to reckon why it’s not true I try to learn from it instead I know I have to appear before Christ the lord at jidgement day and give an account of all I’ve done and said I only know it because I believe the gospel

“for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:10-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m not going to look for a sentance in Ephesians to try to not believe that for instance this which you mention

“And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. “

theres absolutely no contradiction in any other scriptures in the New Testament with that it has a place where it belongs it doesn’t change everything else like the things about repenting and obeying God it’s not meant to change the other things but works with them I do t disagree with any scripture

you rarely use or talk about them tho honestly your usually explaining to me why I shouldn’t accept those things I keep quoting I have no problem with this

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

( amen praise Jesus )

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Still okay with that also you can’t find a scriptire I won’t accept brother I just won’t erase everything else over one sentance

You missed the point. Believers need Christ to do anything. But unbelievers don't need Christ until after they believe. You don't see the contradiction?

I'll just ask a direct question? Can a person lose their salvation, and what passage of scripture would you use to support your answer?

Not at all no everyone is already condemned until they accept the gospel you can’t be a believer u til you hear the gospel and believe everyone is in the same boat the gospel is the only life raft you are just spinning in circles trying to avoid what it says with that you think

“Can a
person lose their salvation, and what passage of scripture would you use to support your answer?”

you wont accept the scripture that tells you …. we’ve been through this you just go in a circle to avoid it example

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:26-30‬ ‭

You’ll just say this doesn’t apply or doesn’t mean what it clearly says …..it’s ok with me if you don’t agree everyone has the freedom to choose what they believe I choose to believe what the scriptures just plainly say and choose not to then explain them away from existence

I recognize that's how you understand grace. It's not my understanding from scripture.

Maybe this will help you -----Grace is unmerited favor ----- you did nothing to earn your salvation -----
-Jesus is the Grace that gave you Salvation ---Jesus extended Himself freely ----it is His Grace that saves us -----

Strong's Concordance

grace, as a gift or blessing brought to man by Jesus Christ,---

"grace, extension-toward"). Both refer to God freely extending Himself (His favor, grace), reaching (inclining) to people because

kindness which bestows upon one what he has not deserved:-----

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I say -------Jesus is the Kindness that gave us what we don't deserve --------
----------God the Father is a Person ---God the Son is a person ----God the Holy Spirit is a person -----

Grace appeared by and through God -----Jesus---------- to redeem you -------

Your redemption came from Jesus who freely extended Himself toward the Cross --to redeem us

Grace is not a Doctrine or a thing -----Grace is a person who freely extends unmerited favor to us ----

I appreciate you answering. And the verse you shared does seem to suggest that an individual can lose their salvation. In John 6:37-39, Jesus says that the Father has given to Him a people that He will raise up and will lose none of them.

How do you reconcile these 2 seemingly opposite ideas given that both are in scripture?
