I just want to report an emoticon malfunction.

When I hit the thumbs up icon to bring up the options, they appear momentarily and then disappear. When clicking on the blank space , they apply random symbols.
You really can't control it. I have been using trial and error to find them or giving up. I thought the webmaster should know about the glitch so it can be corrected.

I just tried one and it works on my end.

Android 14
ThinkPhone
Firefox

(Just mentioning this in case it helps narrow the problem down.)

I can't even get CC to load in Firefox anymore, but I have been unwilling to clear the cache because I currently have too many things I'd have to go back and re-set-up.

I've tried several resets and cache-clearing methods via helpful suggestions from @Eli1, but no dice -- still has the same glitch after several tries.

Currently, only my phone (Android) and Opera browser on my laptop will allow me to choose emoji's from the reaction list.

I discovered that although they don't appear in the list, if I hold my finger on them, the words come up. That allows me to scroll and get them. It sounds like there's a website glitch since I'm not the only one having issues with them.

I can hover over where they are supposed to be also, but am unable
to select any in Edge since Tuesday. They work fine for me in FireFox.
Even before that I was getting error messages in Edge while trying
to leave a reaction, but they were still functional if I persisted.

I had the same problem. My browser was MS Edge. I believe that a recent update screwed up that function. I have a Wave browser that I never used. Tried it. Signed on to christianchat.com. No problem with the emoticons whatsoever.

Just smacking the thumbs up works as usual here, but I see a blank space between the brackets. Android system looks like this:. ( .............,....................................... ), but without the dots for space.

We'll just have to be careful with sarcasm 😉 and such until they get it figured out. If I say anything more over the top than usual, I am probably either being sarcastic or dealing with challenges. 😄

I just got my tello account in the mail, so as soon as I get that fired up I will test this malfunction on my laptop with a Linux distro.

I was able to reproduce this on Microsoft Edge.
This sounds like a windows update to me but now that i can reproduce it, i may be able to find out what's causing it.

Is this what you're all seeing?

Yes, in my Brave browser the emoticons "flash for a millisecond" and then wahla! = the above ;)

Looks like a rendering issue due to some sort of update from Microsoft.
Could take a while to figure out.
Ms updates can break all sorts of things in large environments and they are usually pushed out 1 month after testing internally.
I will check to see if i can find out what could be causing this.
I already tried a few settings in Edge but it didn't work so far.
I'll keep checking.

Yeah, that's it. Icons flash briefly then disappear.

I have Edge too. Problem occurred right after one of MS frequent updates. Using Wave now with no problems.
