We spend our time on the single Facebook groups like 8:24 and the Grownups Table.
"We" do? In all my years on this site I've never heard anyone say that. Nor heard of either of those places on fb.

I've never heard of it either... But I don't have facebook. :p

Maybe that would be a good thing to look into. Those groups, not fb in general.

They're both private, which is nice. Public Facebook is just not that great. These single Christian pages are better than many of the others because they go beyond just looking for a date posting encouragements and asking for help/prayers through their struggles.....many of the others are just about posting your pic for reactions.

8:24 Singles Collective. It's for Christian Singles over 30 years of age. They have had several in-person gatherings for those who live in the same geographic area. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2370945923067310/

The Grownup's Table (Community for Single Christians). Similar to 8:24, but they don't have the 30+ rule. https://www.facebook.com/groups/grownupstable/

There is also a Middle Earth Christian Mingle, but I am 37 and it attracts the 20 crowd (like not 20ish, like those who are 20 years old), so I don't spend as much time on that page. It's mainly Lord of the Rings memes. https://www.facebook.com/groups/5429182273808048/

The site as a whole has slowed down. Been slowing down for years. Around 2013 the site seemed to peak and since then it's been slowly declining.
One factor seems to be how vicious some people are. I've seen many people quit the site after a short time due to this. It used to be primarily in the BDF, but it's spread to the News forum now, as well.
Another is not many seem to sign up intending to stay. There's been an increase in single post users that ask a question and never return.
Or people joining looking for a chat room and quitting when they learn there isn't one.
Also joining looking for one specific thing and if its not readily available, they leave. We see this a lot in Singles forum.
As well as some forums not often being used at all, and many that post in them don't fit the theme. Arab, Philippine, Teen and Young Adults in particular.
And when the chats were up they had a bad reputation due to a few people running the rooms and banning people left and right. Some for simply disagreeing with them and others had no clue why they were banned. Despite many complaints in the playstore nothing was ever done and it continued.
Mods also seem less invested, as does the owner. They seem to have stopped enforcing some things that they used to and given up. Not a great feeling as a user.
Suggestions forum, once intended for suggestions to improve the site, has been allowed to be another Misc forum, basically. And when suggestions are made there's rarely any official response, which puts it on the user's to step in. Sometimes with wrong information because changes were made and no one was told. So a lack of communication.
People paying and looking for live chats only to find they don't exist anymore.
Some don't like paying then getting an email asking for donations for the site. Or not seeing how the donations are put towards the site other than keeping it going.
So plenty of reasons for the site to slow down over the years.
And those are the kinds of things I've seen others say over the years, which has gone up as activity has gone down.
I've noticed since Covid everything has become numerous Karens and Darens. Positive discord is difficult to come by.

Not much going on in the Singles Forum. What has happened?
I'm not as active as I once was.
A lot of my friends left and I grew apart from CC as well.
I was pretty active 2015-2016.

So, hi! I'm Katie :)

I used to use the chat room when it was browser based, and then they upgraded and I couldn't use it anymore.
I would love to send a donation for using this site unfortunately I do not own a credit card.

When I first joined CC it was more for the web browser based chats. I mostly waited for people to message me haha.
I switched to the forums before the change in chat platforms, but did try the new one out some. Didn't care for it. It seemed less friendly. So i didn't last long.

I believe they also take pay pal, if you use that.

You can't use a laptop and a browser for online banking?

This is a serious question. I've never tried it, because I have no interest in banking online. I always just go down to that brick building downtown. So I don't know if it is even possible with a laptop.

Surely it should be though...

well my bank requires a 2 step verification and I don't own a cell phone. So I can't use it even if I wanted too, last time I tried to set it up I spent an hour at the bank. talk about wasted time lol.

I don't know about your bank, but the accounts I use give you the option to have the security code sent to your email address if you don't have a phone.

Personally I don't put much stock in online banking. Remember the more we rely on technology the more jobs our economy looses.

I understand.

For me, I believe every person has to adapt to whatever works best for them. :)

That would be the barter system still in use by old order Mennonites
If it works for them... Great!

I'm certainly not a techie person but I try to know enough to stay relevant in everyday life. :)

Send cash. Use a physical remittance center like Western Union or Monegram. WU and MG are worldwide. I used Western Union to send and receive. Safe and reliable companies.

However you'll need the receiver's details and they'll need yours because after sending the money you'll get a MTCN number that you'll give to your receiver to get the money you sent. Your receiver will give the MTCN and your name to the teller as well as, which country does the money come from.

Also, you can get a cash card at places like Walmart - I know Canada has some and I'm pretty sure there are other stores similar to it. It acts like a credit card, but you go to Walmart to fill it up with any money amount you wish up to a certain limit.

Another option is cashier's checks. They're like personal checks except they're from a bank or postal office. You give the bank or postal office the amount you want to pay for something, plus a small fee, and they produce a check with the amount already printed. Then you can use it like a personal check, designating who it goes to and then signing it.
