Hello @Lanama, welcome to CCHat! Far more importantly however, welcome to the family of God
You may, especially as a new believer, find this short little passage interesting, because in it, the Lord makes a very important point about living the Christian life to the two sisters who are part of this story (and to us, of course ).
Luke 10
38 As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said.
40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,
42 but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
God bless you!! (
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)
~Deuteronomy (David)
p.s. - I your favorite Bible verse and I thought that you might enjoy the following verse (which is one of my favorites ) since it approaches basically the same topic, but from a somewhat different POV (it is also a verse, like a number of others in the Bible, that is a wonderful command or admonishment to us with a wonderful promise from God attached to it ).
Psalm 37
4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
