Hello @Lanama, welcome to CCHat! Far more importantly however, welcome to the family of God :giggle:

You may, especially as a new believer, find this short little passage interesting, because in it, the Lord makes a very important point about living the Christian life to the two sisters who are part of this story (and to us, of course :)).
Luke 10
38 As Jesus and His disciples were on their way, He came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to Him.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said.
40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to Him and asked, β€œLord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 β€œMartha, Martha,” the Lord answered, β€œyou are worried and upset about many things,
42 but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
God bless you!! (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)

~Deuteronomy (David)
p.s. - I your favorite Bible verse and I thought that you might enjoy the following verse (which is one of my favorites :)) since it approaches basically the same topic, but from a somewhat different POV (it is also a verse, like a number of others in the Bible, that is a wonderful command or admonishment to us with a wonderful promise from God attached to it :giggle:).

Psalm 37
4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Whoops, sorry about the typo above :( While we can edit our posts here at CChat, we are limited to 5 minutes to do so and not a second more, just FYI (the Preview button can help).

Finally, as a new believer, here's a link to a 4-part teaching series that was very helpful to me as a new believer (I still use some of what I learned from it in my daily walk today, 35+ years later, just FYI).

It's called Spiritual Boot Camp and it takes a close look at four of our most important Christian spiritual disciplines, How to Study the Scriptures, How to Pray, How to Function in the Body (Fellowship) and How to Witness. The teaching series will also help you apply what you learn to your daily walk with the Lord :)

If you'd like to check it out, go here, scroll down a bit, and then click on whichever part of the series that you'd like to listen to first. Just FYI, it is always free to listen to online (y)

God bless you sister!!

~Deuteronomy (David)

Thanks for the Luke 10 passage. It's always a good reference when things get so crazy during the day we forget to just...stop!!! And remember He is in control. I need a constant reminder to stop being a Martha πŸ˜…
So true! Sometimes it's hard to abandon that human nature that fears the unknown. We just always have to know the answer...not.

I guess that's what we call a test of faith...when we can confidently walk through the valley of death knowing we won't be walking alone no matter how uncertain the path is.

Thanks for the quote and nice to meet you 😊

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Hello sister. Welcome. Body of Christ. Each member has different gifts and abilities. Ephesians, one Spirit, but different gifts. It can be voluntary work at soup kitchen or Christian good at making money and donates to the poor. Or Christian might have gift to be teacher. As Christian people, we study Bible, and try to plant seeds for God. There are some people lost,on the wrong path. Other Christians lack spiritual growth, and need to be nourished. Ezekiel chapter 37, valley of dry bones. With Holy Spirit, and spiritual growth, Christian can ascertain spiritual discernment and knowledge of God's word.
Colossians 1:9 . For this cause also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Peace.

Hello, I just wanted to express my appreciation for the videos you recommended. I just finished the 2nd Alpha series and watching the 3rd and I'm coming to a realization: I'm like everyone else πŸ˜… I'm not the only one with doubts and questions. These videos are not only reassuring but giving me the answers I desperately needed.
I particularly liked the part of the second series which addresses the demand for evidence of the resurrection. Just what was needed to get the scientists and other intellectuals to finally shut up πŸ™„. Can't really blame them though. It all boils down to faith [or the lack of it]. I guess everyone finds it at their own time.
Again, many thanks for the videos πŸ™‚

You are ever so much very welcome! I am so glad you are finding them helpful and informative.
I was going through the course myself twenty years ago when I realized I had finally reached that
place of needing no more convincing of the Truth of God's revealed written Word. Such a relief!
