I'm laying out of w*rk today because my body says it wants to stay warm and horizontal until it deals with this intruder I picked up. Actually my body said that yesterday but not quite as loud, so I probably infected a few people at w*rk. Oops.

So in the meantime, here's a conversation from my family group chat. Uncle Bren is out hunting and listening to the Bible on his earbuds. Wonder how he hears a deer coming?

Now for the question: Whose voice would YOU like to hear reading the Bible to you?

Oh yeah... Try and see if you can post a clip of the voice you're talking about.

Me, I'd like to hear Andy Griffith. Not his normal voice, his stage voice when he is doing Shakespeare.

"And the angel, the angel said to them, said to them, hark...

...

Naw, they said hark a lot back in them days."

I think sling blade really caught my attention but in order to influence the youth into reading the Bible, I would probably choose the rapper, Future, to read the Bible…I figure if he started reading the Bible, we would be influencing the youth in a much better way, than what he is currently all about.

What a neat idea for a thread!

Hope you feel better soon! :)

I have a thing for certain voices and accents. Back when this site had live chat, I can unabashedly confess to purposely listening in when certain members were in on the mic because I was addicted to their voices and/or accents. Sometimes a voice/accent can be like a song to me that I could listen to indefinitely.

Here are a few of my choices for whom I think would make an amazing audio Bible:

1. James Earl Jones (I know he's passed, but he would have been awesome!!!)

I mean seriously. Who wouldn't want to hear the Bible read by Darth Vader (especially the parts where there's fire raining down or judgment being passed!)

2. Julie Andrews

Having Mary Poppins read the Bible to the family would elevate her off the charts as a nanny!

3. Saoirse Ronan

Not only does she have a gorgeous natural Irish accent, but I've read that she is also the type of actress who is very gifted in being able to master any accent and dialect she needs to put on for a part.

And that's something I'd really love to hear -- the Bible ready in an entire spectrum of accents and voices -- maybe a different one for each book?!

This would most definitely elevate my motivation for Bible study! :)

I thought James Earl Jones had done recorded off the Bible. I heard somebody listening to it one time.

Charles Grodin would be good... but he's dead, I think. He had a very mellifluous voice.

It would be interesting to hear Sam Elliot read it....

For fun, what about Leanne Morgan?

I vote for Mr Rogers.

My second vote would be Mr Conductor from shining times station. I always loved the way he talked.

Reckon could Kermit's voice actor hold out that voice for an entire Bible?

I dunno... That would be pretty weird when he got into Lamentations.

David Suchet, Christian actor, does a decent job. My wife listens to him often.
