The Elect of God Defined.

The elect of God are those who God foreknown would, as believers without willful unbelief, ultimately choose to cooperate with His grace within the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ and the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

You said....

Just a bit more exacting....

The elect of God are those who God foreknown would, as believers without willful unbelief, ultimately choose to cooperate with what His grace provided us to think with within the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ and the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Do you see my point as valid?

Speaking of 'babies."

Christians who remain as babies spiritually should not teach the adults.
But, they will.
That is...
If they are obstinate children.
On the other hand, babies would be smarter than you! So you should defer to their teaching.

Paul always went to the Jews first.

Paul was a Jewish patriot.
Paul went to the Jews first, and of course the Jews were chosen first in time, but Paul wrote "in Christ... there is neither Jew nor Gentile", indicating that both/all are made one or equal and loved equally by God, who does not show favoritism.

Only if it's the one on top of your head.

Having said that, why don't you and Mr. Intersection address the questions I asked about Jesus' prescience in my 4024 which I posted three days ago re Mat 7:23?

Eternal life must come through Christ, but it was only necessary through the cross once sin entered in. Adam was under a works covenant initially. Had he kept the commandment not to eat, keep the garden, and be fruitful and multiply, at some point God would have conferred eternal life upon him.
If Adam were perfect, he would BE Christ!

BTW, the original sin was choosing to believe Satan/not believe God (faith before works).

The elect of God

God foreknown

Ephesians 1:4

Believers without willful unbelief

Ultimately choose to cooperate with His grace

Within the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ

Promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Read that verse again.

Ephesians 1:4
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy
and without blame before him in love.

The subject is "He hath chosen us".

For what purpose?

"that we would be holy and without blame"

So are we chosen for salvation or are we chosen to be conformed to holiness, to love?

The problem with Ephesians 1, is some people just read the first part of the sentence.

"he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world"

But when you highlight the purpose of the clause above, the understanding of the sentence
changes.

"that we should be holy"

To emulate the image of the Christ and that is what has been predestined.

Genesis 6 says they did have the ability, and did use it.

Genesis 6:1-2
Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters
were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful;
and they took for themselves of all whom they chose.

See what it says?
I do.

Now...
Let's see how your denial ability is functioning! ;)
No I don't see what you see.

The sons of God are men not angels.

Thank you GWH and that is what the scripture states.

Interesting interpretation you have there.

I would sum everything up in Christ and before he had eaten of good and evil.

For me, that would be the predestination of the Christ even in the garden.
I don't disagree that Christ is elect. I never made the connection to the Tree of Life in the garden. Not opposed to it.

I never said Adam was perfect. I also said eternal life would need to be conferred upon him. But Christ need not have died because there would be no sin to atone for. Adam was given life in creation; not eternal life.

All of the verses you quoted say exactly the opposite of what you claim them to say.

Yes they are. Infallible Biblical evidence in all regards.
Zero room for alternative opinions really.

Oh yea, and Gol of Gath aka "Goliath" was a Nephilim, a type of Satan-man. Literally.

And the Anti Christ will ALSO be the final type of a LITERAL Satan-man. Indisputably.

Yes, we have to cooperate with the grace of God.
It's the grace power of God that enables us to cooperate, if we should so desire to.

Many have been told that grace is God's unmerited loving kindness towards us.
But, that is simply loving kindness. That does not enable. It only encourages.

Grace is God's provision of giving us the needed power to empower to do what we would otherwise find impossible.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may
rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Some simply repeat what they heard taught, but never study the Bible to see what actually teaches.

'Unmerited favor 'sounds good to those who emote with what they are told.

'God's enabling power' sounds good to those who can think, and want to live accurately with God's Word.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.
No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
1 Corinthians 15:10

That is how it works, according to the Bible. Grace is power granted.

Human emotions like false doctrine that was designed to appeal to one's emotional bias.
Sound doctrine appeals to the mind, designed to rule our emotions.
