I have tried the Vegemite. I put a thin layer on one piece of toast, a bit thicker layer on another piece, and a yet more thicker layer on a third piece. I didn't feel like I was getting enough of the flavor with the thinnest layer. I went for the third piece. At first I thought it was tasty, but the third or forth bite was kinda intense. So I went for the second piece (which in the image I included in my post above would be the 'Vegemite for Regular Consumers' piece). I do not give it a thumbs down. I'm not necessarily ready to give it a thumbs up. It's not bad, but I'm not at that "I can't wait to have more" stage. I will be trying it again, with the 'Regular Consumers' amount.

I recorded myself having the Vegemite if anyone feels like watching that. I don't know how long I will keep this video up. I have not recorded a video in years and I've only ever recorded a video for one person at a time, not more than one person...so I'm a bit apprehensive about posting this. Then I thought, "What the heck."
Btw, I like being outside, so I recorded this outside. If you don't like sun rays or the outdoors, you might want to skip it.

Thank you again seoulsearch for this thread!

Thank you Moses for your guidance on consuming Vegemite!

Thank you everyone for the laughs!

I loved the video! :D It was great to see your reaction in real-time, in between careful nibbles. :D

Have you ever watched Report of the Week Food Review? It reminded me a bit of him (meant as the highest compliment.)

If you ever have the time or inclination, I'd love to see more videos on your channel (I hit the STALKER, er, Subscribe button, so now you'll never escape!)

Hi Sean,

I've been reading a few of your posts and just wanted to say I'm really sorry for all you've been through. I'm very glad to hear that you are sorting things out with God's help. You are definitely not alone. Every person here has a story and tragedy/trauma they are working through, so you will definitely find people who can relate.

You are right in that you will run into opposition here, but we also have a great group of people you'll get to know as you hang out in the threads (right now we've been spending a lot of time in the Singles and Family parts of the forum, but also sometimes Miscellaneous.)

Sometimes our conversations are serious, sometimes silly, and sometimes downright obnoxious. But it all works together to help us get to know each other, carry each other's burdens through prayer, and even have a good laugh -- which is what I'd like to think good quality fellowship is all about. :)

Welcome in and we're glad you're here!
Thank you Seoul, I look forward to sticking around as long as God will allow it. It’s been decades since I’ve really had any long term community, even short term community is nice. I have a decent email conversation going back and forth with a pastor I’ve had since 2014 who seems to really care and sends scripture my way to combat certain situations I’m going through but that is about all the community I’ve had, other than maybe some events that I’ve gone to at my church. It just seems like opposition is everywhere and I’ve come to be more aware of it since I’ve gotten older.

I loved your video and it is great to see what you look like. Quite nice actually. Enjoyed your review of the Vegemite. Based on your review I am going to take a pass on trying this spread. Looks yucky. I commend your bravery on eating this stuff first and offering your critique. Definitely belongs on the Lake of Fire list.
Thank you, that's sweet of you to say! I was really debating whether or not to post it lol.
After trying it, I can see why Vegemite is not for everyone. It was fun to try and I intend to try it again. Having said that, I didn't wake up this morning with any desires for it lol

Thank you, that's smashing of you to say!!

I haven't heard of Report of the Week Food Review, but sounds like something I should look into.

Lynx mentioned anchovies/anchovy paste. That might be my next food taste test. Not sure when that'll be, but it sounds like fun :p:LOL:

I keep forgetting you were trying Vegemite, not Marmite.

Ignore what I said about yeasty flavor. That would be Marmite.

Also, oops and all that stuff.

That's okay. I've tasted a lot of things, but I honestly couldn't say what would be comparable to Vegemite. The smell is very appealing to me. Maybe I can at least just keep it around to sniff it once in a while lol.

Somehow I missed this thread when it first arrived. Well, my answer is "none". No food belongs in the lake of fire. However, there are some things that, though being commonly eaten, are not food.

I'm trying hard not to start a rant about fake food, Big Food, the corruption of the ADA, the the wholesale replacement of things God created with things man has defiled.

Whoops. Too late.

I would move the premise from ‘foods deserving of Hades’ to ‘Food that makes you wonder why you bothered chewing it’

I have only had Octopus once (as part of a seafood platter in Cyprus) It is not only tasteless but the little suction cups on your tongue make you feel guilty with every chew 🙃

I’m no expert but i think ‘miracle whip’ is what we used to call ‘Angel Delight’ (also UK here)

So kinda an ‘add milk, whisk into the powders and it becomes a flavourful pudding’

🤔

Whilst you would be welcome at any social gathering I will ever hold in the future I’m guessing :

My ‘crab , holding a stick of celery whilst fishing for tiny pieces of avocado, in a cod sauce ‘ centre-piece would be something you’d pass on?

This is why we always have breadsticks and carrots 🙂

Haha this had me in stitches!!! 🤣

I would, of course, be glad to accept your invitation....however, I would prefer to eat my breadsticks and carrots on the sofa if that would not cause too much offence!!! 😏

The sofa is good. It’s got a great view of the swimming pool and the stables . I don’t swim or ride (but then I can only see them on the neighbouring property thanks to a telescope)

So what would your favourite foods be at my party ? I can ask chef to make you anything …

🤣 Well I don't ride either, but I wouldn't say no to a quick dip in their swimming pool 🏊‍♂️ I'm sure your other guests will be too busy tucking into their yucky crab, celery and avocado concoction 🤮 to notice my absence!

Well I'm quite a simple lady really (in most ways ). My absolute favourite meal would be a home cooked British roast dinner with all the trimmings 😋 I hope your chef will not be too offended!

I can’t cook /make things/ Masterchef my way through a meal .

I come from generations of ‘heat it and eat it’ hillbillies….our family motto is Armadillo is good ‘eating’

I just miss stew 🥘

You could get it by the can when my parents were alive (and I’m sure they served it by the pint in the 50’s)

Whatever happened to tinned stew (or is this just bother ‘I shop at Aldi thing ?’ )

Roast beef and all the trimmings ( as a newly single man , they’d included an actually properly ironed shirt) would be amazing.

Miracle Whip: a sandwich spread also used in salads for dressing and also devilled eggs etc...

Often substituted for mayonnaise, though it is tangier and sweeter. The main ingredient is oil.
